Mercury Conjunct Uranus & Mercury Enters Aries (March 9, 2011)

Epiphany… Electricity is the air… and in your mind. It is as if something has turned up the “juice” in your nervous system; flashes of insight, breakthroughs and those “ah hah!” moments come upon you so you better have your notepad (or Ipad) ready to record your brilliance.

The conjunction of Mercury and Uranus creates an opportunity to think “outside the box”. Intelligence is typically defined as a measure of how much you have mastered the accepted solution to whatever challenge you face. But that is what I would call “encoded intelligence”, also known as “knowledge”.

Living, breathing Intelligence involves the capacity to develop understandings and solutions to problems that no longer seem to be resolved by the old way of doing things. Sure, try to apply the old solution, but it does not work. Okay, try again, (maybe you forgot something), but it still does not work.

Now your true Intelligence should kick in, either the world has changed, or you have changed, (or both), and you need to look at the challenge from another perspective. You need to go from being on “automatic” to being engaged with the world around you; you need to look at the world from the perspective of “wonder”, “imagination” and “freedom” again… you need Uranus.

Normal vision, and the perspective of “encoded intelligence”, is like shining a focused beam of light upon an object (problem); you see it brightly illuminated, but you also create and cast a very deep shadow. You don’t know what you do not know (or see). You need to eliminate the shadow; you need to see what is hidden, but how?

By engaging Uranus you shift your perspective. You shine “mind-light” from another perspective and begin to reduce the shadow; you gain insight that creates the possibility of finding a better solution to your problem that was not even conceivable from the former point of view. You break out of the accepted, normal and knowledge-based worldview…you begin to develop Wisdom.

Enjoy the wonder… Let the Light of Uranus Shine through your Mind…

Celebrate your Epiphany!

Mercury moves into Aries till May 15; that’s a long time to be in a “fast” sign. The reason for such a long sojourn is that Mercury will turn retrograde at the end of March and so loop back and forth in Aries.

But what does Mercury in Aries mean? Fast thoughts, quick speech.…and as a result mistakes will mount up unless you maintain an awareness of what is happening.

Aries brings an energy of enthusiasm, daring and Idealism to your mind now. You are persuasive; you dazzle your opponents and you are “right” too.

What’s the problem? Well, maybe all of it if you are not careful. Don’t let your enthusiasm lead you to impatience; don’t let your daring lead you to recklessness; and, don’t let your idealism lead you into egotism.

Let the spiritual fire of Aries remind you that the true source of greater awareness comes through more meaningful connections, within and without. Be quick, yet poised. Be daring, and graceful. Be idealistic, and reasonable.

New Moon in Pisces (March 4, 2011)

As it was in the beginning, so it is at the end…You began your journey as a spark of the divine moving out into unconscious yet independent existence; you complete this circuit of life, ending now as a fully conscious being seeking to transcend your independent state and so become one with the One. And, in the next turning of the wheel, you will go forth again to seek, learn and understand yourself and your world once more, but at a new, higher level of participation.

Your journey is not a line, nor is it a circle…it is a spiral of life-consciousness-spirit, and you have many turns around the wheel to master your human form. Each time you begin in Aries you draw from the well of your past (karma) of already developed faculties as a base to support you. You then develop and add to these gifts during your journey around the wheel of life till you reach the final moment of Pisces.…before you begin again.

Just as in life after life, we also grow from year to year. Now at the last New Moon of the year you must reap what you have sowed. You must collect and harvest the treasure of your experiences and distill them into the essence that is your spiritual understanding. This is the harvest of your soul’s journey; it is the gift you pass onto to yourself as you prepare to begin the journey again.

So, at this New Moon remember where you have come from, honor what you have learned, and now face your future with imagination, faith and joy that is your birthright as one of sparks of the Divine. Shine on!

Mars Sextile Pluto (March 3, 2011)

Your aims and actions are focused, deep and purposeful. With Mars ruling the energies of self-realization and Pluto ruling willpower, you are firmly applying yourself to the task at hand.

You will succeed now because the imaginative actions of Mars in Pisces are steadied by the structural knowledge of how to get things done by Pluto in Capricorn.

Mars in Pisces can sometimes take self-sacrifice to an unhealthy place. Pluto’s influence reminds you that you are responsible for what you create; and, that your first responsibility as a dreaming/creative/self-made spirit is to be responsible with and to your “self”.

Venus Sextile Uranus & Venus Enters Aquarius (March 1, 2011)

You appreciate what is different or new, yet classic, in something (or someone). With Venus ruling value (and about to leave Capricorn, see below) and Uranus ruling originality, you want to smell, taste, touch, hear or see something that is outside of your “normal”. Enjoy a new aspect of an old classic, or appreciate something new for the classic qualities it expresses in a new way.

In relationships, respect those shared values that have bound you one to another, and then find and share with each other some new found way of expressing them. What keeps us together is what we share; what keeps us interested is discovering something new about one another.

Venus moves into Aquarius till March 26. The true basis of love shines through friendship now. You are with your beloved because at the end of the day you are also the best of friends.

The freedom to live out your true self is met in the space of relationships that are built on acceptance, tolerance and the celebration of individual differences. Be yourself with those who appreciate you for you. Friendship is forever.

Sun Conjuncts Mercury & Mercury Sextile Pluto & Sun Sextile Pluto (February 25, 2011)

Here we go again… a triple play of Sun, Mercury and Pluto stirs the depths of our imagination while it reminds us that we must be doers as well as dreamers. And, most importantly, we must continue to learn how to exercise our free will while respecting the boundaries between one another.

Sun Conjunct Mercury. The Solar Wind meets Hermes fleet feet and boy are we thinking! This is the “superior” conjunction of Mercury with the Sun. This is really like a “full moon” because Mercury is on the far side of the Sun from our perspective. So, rather than a new beginning this alignment is actually a revelation, the culmination of what was released back on December 19th at the inferior conjunction.

You began with some hint, or idea or inspiration back then; now is the time to see what you have brought forth in all its majesty. With the Sun and Mercury in Pisces, that puts the Earth (and you) in Virgo. The revelation is about understanding how to balance and integrate the power of your dreams and imagination (Pisces) with your practical knowledge and skills (Virgo). The message is that you must always keep together and balance your power to dream with your power to do. Expect some strong conversations today between you and another over an important dream or vision (Pisces) versus some plan or procedure (Virgo).

Mercury in Sextile to Pluto brings a depth to the mind in this triple play. Pluto provides the power to pierce beyond the usual levels so as to allow you to perceive the underlying assumptions of the situation at hand; you go beyond apparent thought forms, peeling back the layers of underlying assumptions, and so see the issue with greater clarity. Do not let Pluto’s “control issues” get in the way. Remember, real communication is not a zero-sum game with winners and losers; cooperation creates insights as we help one another to remove our “blind spots”.

Sun in Sextile to Pluto completes our triple play. With the self (Sun) guided by Divine Will (Pluto), you are able to make deep impressions on the world and those around you.

At the end of December, the Sun/Pluto conjunction brought about an alignment of the self with the Self. You came to a deeper understanding of the nature of your free will. Now you have a constructive opportunity to exercise that free will. You can improve yourself and the lives of those around you by maintaining a balance of will between one another.

The lesson, as you express your will, is to maintain self control and so respect the sacred space that each life exists in. Sometimes we give way too easily and others trespass upon us; and sometimes we forget to respect the space of others and so trespass on them. Now move into the space of balance between self-assertion and selflessness.

Always remember, the spiritual law of your will is: “Let Thy Will Be Done”!
