Tran­script of Radio Show: The Hier­ar­chy of Plan­e­tary Influ­ences and their Cycles, Jupiter to Plu­to (7/31/2022)

I thought it could be use­ful if we stepped back from what we have been doing over the past many shows, that is our look­ing at just one, two or three of the major plan­e­tary cycles, and con­sid­er more of the entire hier­ar­chy of plan­ets and their inter­sect­ing orbits from Jupiter to Plu­to. It is cer­tain­ly most impor­tant to look at the “big three”, Uranus, Nep­tune, and Plu­to. But by includ­ing the fuller range of influ­ences as brought to bear with the addi­tion of Sat­urn and Jupiter, I believe we will find a deep­er appre­ci­a­tion and under­stand­ing of what I have called “The Dance of the Planets”.

What I and many Astrologers do is con­sid­er the com­bi­na­tion of influ­ences from the var­i­ous cat­e­gories of plan­ets, and their var­i­ous inter­weav­ing cycles with one anoth­er, we take these to form a more com­plete pic­ture of the influ­ences we expe­ri­ence here on Earth. We cer­tain­ly look at each plan­et as hav­ing its own realm of mean­ing and influ­ence, but it is also true that just as we are shaped and formed by our expe­ri­ences with one anoth­er, the plan­ets and their mes­sages are shaped and formed by their inter­re­la­tion­ships with one anoth­er too.

Now, we can sort or arrange the plan­ets in a num­ber of ways, but what seems most mean­ing­ful for our pur­pos­es is to arrange them by their indi­vid­ual orbital peri­ods from the longest to the short­est, and then to group them into three types or cat­e­gories of influ­ence with regards to their orbital rela­tion­ships and by their syn­od­ic cycles, which is the peri­od from one con­junc­tion to the next con­junc­tion with one another.

Start­ing with the out­er­most plan­ets, which we will type as LONG WAVE TRANSFORMATIONAL, we have Plu­to, Nep­tune, and Uranus. This group­ing gives us the rela­tion­ship pair­ings of Nep­tune with Plu­to form­ing a con­junc­tion rough­ly every 492 years, then Uranus with Nep­tune at 171 years, and final­ly Uranus with Plu­to at 127 years. Giv­en their longer syn­od­ic cycles, we have observed that they rep­re­sent or influ­ence Trans­for­ma­tion­al or Evo­lu­tion­ary pat­terns of human history.

The next set of plan­e­tary pairs we call the MID WAVE CRYSTALLIZING, and they are formed by Sat­urn align­ing with these longer Trans­for­ma­tion­al plan­ets. Here we have Sat­urn with Uranus at 45 years, Sat­urn with Nep­tune at 36 years, and Sat­urn with Plu­to at 33 years. This set of com­bi­na­tions con­cerns the dynam­ic inter­re­la­tion­ship between con­ti­nu­ity and change, the nec­es­sary strug­gle between the con­serv­ing and pre­serv­ing nature of Sat­urn coun­ter­point­ed to the Spir­i­tu­al Imper­a­tive for Growth and Change held by the out­er three planets.

The final set of plan­e­tary pairs we call the SHORT WAVE GROWTH set, which is formed by Jupiter with both the Trans­for­ma­tion­al out­er three and with the avatar of Order held by Sat­urn, and these range from Jupiter with Sat­urn at 20 years, Jupiter with Uranus at 14 years, Jupiter with Nep­tune at 13 years and Jupiter with Plu­to at 12 years.

Long Wave Transformational
Pluto/Neptune
For the Long Wave Trans­for­ma­tion­al pair­ings, the 492-year cycle of Plu­to and Nep­tune holds the inte­gral rela­tion­ship between the Will and Uncon­di­tion­al Love, between Bound­aries that form our Sacred Spaces and the ulti­mate One­ness of Spir­it and Real­i­ty. Each time Plu­to and Nep­tune form a con­junc­tion, one can see the end and begin­ning of how we form our­selves into our spaces with one anoth­er, and those dates are: 83BCE, 411CE, 905, 1398, and 1891.

And then, as they form their series of aspects with one anoth­er after each con­junc­tion, we see the wax­ing square and the Oppo­si­tion, (also the semi-square and SesquiSquare) and then in reverse order back to the next con­junc­tion, as form­ing crit­i­cal moments in the strug­gle for bal­ance between our exer­cise of our Will coun­ter­point­ed to our expe­ri­ence of Love.

Neptune/Uranus
The next pair­ing by syn­od­ic peri­od is the 171-year cycle of Nep­tune and Uranus, and they hold the inte­gral rela­tion­ship between Uncon­di­tion­al Love and Freer Minds, or Indi­vid­u­al­i­ty ver­sus Communality.

The dates for their series of con­junc­tions or the begin­ning of their cycle of rela­tion­ship were: 1478, 1650, 1821 and 1993. And then just like with Pluto/Neptune, the sub­se­quent crit­i­cal moments in their cycle of rela­tion­ship shape and form our human expe­ri­ence of how we rec­on­cile our need to be Free yet equal­ly Inter­de­pen­dent upon one another.

Pluto/Uranus
The final pair by syn­od­ic peri­od length, and of the pure­ly Trans­for­ma­tion­al group, is the 127-year cycle of Plu­to and Uranus, which holds the inte­gral rela­tion­ship between Will and Free­dom, or Sacred Space and Indi­vid­u­al­i­ty. The dates for their con­junc­tions were: 1455, 1597, 1710, 1850 and 1965. Again, we can see this play­ing out over the course of their aspects between one con­junc­tion to the next as pro­vid­ing mean­ing and guid­ance for how we must strive to bal­ance our indi­vid­ual Free­dom with the neces­si­ty to not infringe upon the Sacred Space of another.

Mid Wave Crystallizing
But let us now turn and look at the set of align­ments that forge a more focused set of oppor­tu­ni­ties and chal­lenges in our jour­ney of Spir­i­tu­al Awak­en­ing, and to the two which are pre­sid­ing over our cur­rent sit­u­a­tion, and these are the series of align­ments of Sat­urn with the Trans­for­ma­tion­al plan­ets, and the Jupiter pair­ings with them and Sat­urn as well.

The set of align­ments of Sat­urn with the three Out­er and Trans­for­ma­tion­al plan­ets car­ries the mean­ings and mes­sages of our Spir­i­tu­al Awak­en­ing brought about by the Alchem­i­cal Trans­for­ma­tions when these Evo­lu­tion­ary Forces meet with the Struc­tures and Objec­tive Realms held by Sat­urn. The result is often dis­cord and clash­es with these Evo­lu­tion­ary agents as they inter­act with the con­ser­v­a­tive nature of Saturn.

Saturn/Uranus
The first of these is the 45-year cycle of Sat­urn with Uranus, which holds the dynam­ic con­fronta­tion of what I would call the Prin­ci­ple of Order ver­sus Freer Minds, or we might say Tra­di­tion ver­sus Inno­va­tion. Their most recent con­junc­tions were 1852, 1897, 1942 and 1988, and at each con­junc­tion a new impulse was released in this dynam­ic dance of the old ways and the New.

And here we find our­selves in the last major aspect of that 1988 cycle, which is the wan­ing square, and which is guid­ing us here in 2021 and 2022. The pre­vi­ous sig­nif­i­cant moments from that 1988 seed­ing were the wax­ing square of 1999–2000, the oppo­si­tion of 2008-10, and now the wan­ing square of 2021–2022. Whether you look at these turn­ing points through a Polit­i­cal, Eco­nom­ic or Cul­tur­al lens, you can cer­tain­ly see how what­ev­er was released in 1988 came to a cri­sis or turn­ing point in the year 2000. And that this was fol­lowed by the oppo­si­tion or “Full Moon” rev­e­la­tion of 2008-10; and that was most cer­tain­ly a cli­mac­tic moment in which the forces of progress were so clear­ly revealed and opposed by the forces of fear and dark­ness, and this strug­gle played out dra­mat­i­cal­ly in our social and polit­i­cal polar­iza­tions of the time.

Which brings us to our moment now, which is the wan­ing square of 2021–22. The wax­ing square, like 1999–2000, is a turn­ing point or cri­sis of action; it is a choos­ing between one action or anoth­er, the need to make a com­mit­ment to one thing, or one form or action, to one way of being and not anoth­er. The wan­ing square is once again a cri­sis or turn­ing point, but more in the realm of ideas, thoughts, beliefs, or mean­ings. It takes as it “ref­er­ence point” what­ev­er was revealed at the “Full Moon”, which here was the oppo­si­tion 2008-10, which laid out for all to see the dif­fer­ing mean­ings and mes­sages of that moment. And now, giv­en where we find our­selves in 2021–22, we face a peri­od when we need to choose what we believe, to think through what is true ver­sus false, what is real and what is not real, and so we sort our­selves by the divi­sion between our beliefs, our facts, and our truths.

The oppor­tu­ni­ty (and chal­lenge) of any wan­ing square, like the one we have in 2021 and 2022, is that it brings what is called the “gift of sev­er­ance”, and it calls upon us, it asks of us, to let go of what we must so that we might con­tin­ue to grow; it is an oppor­tu­ni­ty to turn from being held and bound by a neg­a­tive­ly root­ed past, to turn from the husk of dead spir­it and embrace the liv­ing spir­it of love. All of us need to reject any cir­cum­scribed and shad­owed way of think­ing and being, that we leave behind our more instinc­tu­al roots that divide us from one anoth­er, because they bind us by fear and not by hope and love.

But in addi­tion to this Saturn/Uranus De-Crys­tal­liz­ing moment we have one more align­ment that is shap­ing our real­i­ty and deci­sions, and it is one of the final set of align­ments formed by the Short-Wave Growth group­ing, and that is of Jupiter com­bin­ing with either the Evo­lu­tion­ary or the Sat­urn­ian placements.

Short Wave Growth
It seems quite time­ly or for­tu­itous, because what we are expe­ri­enc­ing is the next align­ment of Jupiter with Sat­urn. Their 20-year cycle artic­u­lates the inte­gral rela­tion­ship between Truth or Mean­ing (Jupiter) and Order or Man­i­fes­ta­tion (Sat­urn). We are at a very impor­tant moment in their cycle of rela­tion­ship because it is the first sig­nif­i­cant align­ment in their cycle fol­low­ing the his­toric con­junc­tion in Aquar­ius at the end of 2020.

Jupiter/Saturn
That con­junc­tion Astrologers call The Great Muta­tion, as it began a new series of Jupiter/Saturn con­junc­tions in the Air Signs, sig­nal­ing the end of the pre­vi­ous 200-year cycle of Earth con­junc­tions, and the start of a new Airy Cycle of Jupiter and Sat­urn that will hap­pen for the next 200 years. It was and is a spir­i­tu­al seed that was plant­ed, and it her­ald­ed a turn­ing point; and it was a sign for many that a New Age has begun. And now we have reached a crit­i­cal moment in the birth of a New Age.

The first sig­nif­i­cant aspect in any cycle rela­tion­ship is the wax­ing semi-square or 45 degrees, and this is what we are expe­ri­enc­ing in 2022 into 2023. It was exact on July 21^st, and will repeat on Sep­tem­ber 21^st, with the final exact align­ment be on March 21^st, 2023, but its influ­ence is present dur­ing the entire­ty of this year and into 2023.

Remem­ber, a con­junc­tion is like a New Moon, or very much like the plant­i­ng of a seed. After that begin­ning, for the next many days, weeks, months, or years (depend­ing upon the length of the entire cycle), that first phase takes place sym­bol­i­cal­ly “beneath the sur­face”, like a seed send­ing down roots and equal­ly send­ing up ten­drils to the sur­face. For some greater or less­er time, we must wait for the proof that some­thing has begun. And it is at the wax­ing semi-square that the new life appears vis­i­bly above the soil, it becomes appar­ent that some­thing has indeed “hap­pened”, and we see the first real “test” of this new form of life or being is now to be experienced.

Ide­al­ly, it can and should be a time of quick­en­ing, of mov­ing for­ward with greater urgency and exhil­a­ra­tion, with the joy and pow­er of new begin­nings. But this can also be a time when doubt or fear can rear up to hold back the new life. We must remem­ber that it is always fear that brings about pain. At this crit­i­cal moment in the cycle of life, it may be the uncer­tain­ty regard­ing what­ev­er is this new way of being that leads or caus­es a neg­a­tive reac­tion; or it can be the siren song of the past that calls to return or stay in a more famil­iar time or space, and this too can hold back or lim­it the growth of new life.

The Liv­ing Spir­it is the ulti­mate Root of every­thing and every­one, and each and every par­ti­cle of this Uni­verse is shaped and guid­ed by the pur­pose behind the entire­ty of Cre­ation, which is to grow; and if we are to grow, if we are to be what we are, which is the liv­ing spir­it, we must lov­ing­ly embrace change. And if we are to grow, we must also move towards ever greater inclu­sive­ness and inte­gra­tion with the whole of Cre­ation, so that we might rise and become an ever more com­plete human in our Life of the One.

There is no way to know which way any­one will go; but there is no ques­tion which way we should go.

We should remem­ber, as it has been said before, “beat­en paths are for beat­en peo­ple”. We are here to make our way to the greater light, to live by a more encom­pass­ing love for one anoth­er and all of life on this plan­et. This is the way of Spir­it; this is the way of the One.

So, as this New Age begins, we are being asked to decide right now what will be the future that is com­ing? Will we stand for the future that is ulti­mate­ly des­tined to be?

We real­ly have no choice but to fol­low our hearts and lis­ten to the voice of the silence, to lis­ten for that qui­et, still pres­ence that lives in all our hearts and we will do what is lov­ing and kind and true.

It is quite sim­ply the way.

It is the way of Light and Truth and Love.

It is the Way of the One.

To be seen for who you are…

The Wheel of Life and Mean­ing has turned, and with it the time to cel­e­brate Can­cer gives way to the Heart of the Teach­ings held by the sign that is Leo. You take from Can­cer this most pre­cious truth; that at the cen­ter of every­thing and every­one of us is quite pro­found­ly what lies at the cen­ter of Cre­ation, and that is the Light of the One.

What you felt in Can­cer, what you know to be true in your heart, is that the spark of the Divine with­in you is pure and Uncon­di­tion­al Love. This Love is what the Uni­verse was made from, and that is what you are made by. And it is this Feel­ing-Truth that will inspire you now to bring this Love into your self-real­iza­tions formed in Leo, as you stride upon the many stages of your life, as you seek to be who you are by your actions and per­for­mances, as you become your own cre­ator, the mak­er of your­self and your world too.

And, this is most impor­tant, as much as you will stretch in Leo to be true to who and what you are, to being wit­nessed as embody­ing the liv­ing Spir­it in all that you do, you must equal­ly know and under­stand that who­ev­er is before you, that they are illu­mined by this same Divine Light as you.

This is the heart of the mes­sage of Leo; that you are here to shine like a star, to be the very embod­i­ment of the Light and Love of the Divine. The Ancient Wis­dom holds that long, long ago, we humans came as sparks of the Divine from a star, and that one fine day, eons from now, our spark of the Divine will become the heart of a very real star too. This is the Jour­ney of Life-Spir­it-Con­scious­ness, we are made to shine, and we are here to shine for one anoth­er too.

In Can­cer, by Water, you find your way to feel the whole of your­self, to be root­ed in what, where and who you came from. In Leo, by Fire, you move out through your feel­ings into the realm of Emo­tions. The Fire that comes through all of us now, and always some­where in your very own chart too, is the same as the Cre­ative Spir­it of the One, and it moves through you so that you may become your­self in ever more mean­ing­ful acts of Lead­er­ship, Cre­ativ­i­ty and Love.

But you must remem­ber that you are here because of and for one anoth­er; that you are nev­er alone, nor could you ever be you with­out the lives you have shared with so many oth­ers. In Leo you strive to bring out the best from your­self, and it is by your exam­ple that you inspire oth­ers to find with­in them­selves the courage and joy to be their bet­ter selves too. This is Leo, this is true lead­er­ship; and this is what we do for one anoth­er. We see one anoth­er for who and what we real­ly are, and we know the truth that is held in our heart which is Love.

We need one anoth­er. We need to be rec­og­nized, respect­ed, and loved for who we are, as we in turn see, respect, and love our fel­low humans for who they are. We trust one anoth­er because we hold to the same fun­da­men­tal truth, that we are made by the Love of the One and we are here to Love and shine for one another.

This is the teach­ing; this is the way of the One.

Be Fear­less, be Respect­ful, be Loving.

This is the way of the Lion.

The way of Leo.

The Cen­ter that is Everywhere

Today we reach one of the “Four Turn­ings” of the Zodi­a­cal year. And the ques­tion we face in the Sign of Can­cer is quite sim­ply this, “Where do we come from”?

Our sto­ry is part of the Life of the One, the Sto­ry of Cre­ation, which is the sto­ry of Spir­it-Life-Con­scious­ness. Guid­ing this unfold­ing Sto­ry of the One is the Zodi­ac, which is real­ly the fun­da­men­tal Field of Ener­gy-Forms that form the Design Body of the Uni­verse. This Field of Ener­gy-Forms cre­ates what we under­stand as the sub­tle body for all beings in the uni­verse, whether they be an Atom, Mol­e­cule, Organ­ism, Plan­et, Star, Galaxy and ulti­mate­ly, of course, the One. The Zodi­ac is the Noume­na behind all the Phe­nom­e­na of Cre­ation, as it is the Field of Mean­ings behind all man­i­fes­ta­tions in this Uni­verse, and we can under­stand it as being like what is known in sci­ence as an elec­tro-mag­net­ic field of ener­gy-forms. Seen this way, what we actu­al­ly expe­ri­ence in our phys­i­cal forms is like a Holo­gram, where inter­sect­ing ener­gy-forms are aligned and formed into pat­terns of mean­ing that cre­ate the Mat­ter-Forms that we per­ceive as sub­stan­tial and real.

What this means is that con­trary to our minds being fix­at­ed upon the phys­i­cal realm, the Zodi­ac is not some­thing “out there” in some part of out­er space, as some have placed it in a band of con­stel­la­tions, that have been arranged or fash­ioned into a kind of wheel in our local area of the galaxy. Rather, the Zodi­ac is behind each and every par­ti­cle of Cre­ation, form­ing each Spark of the Divine by these 12 Vibra­tional Ener­gy-Forms into a unique instance of Spirt-Mat­ter, but which is equal­ly indi­vis­i­ble and part of the one Ener­gy-Form of the One. In a very real way, the Zodi­ac forms the “Mas­ter Aura” of the Uni­verse, as it informs, shapes, and guides the devel­op­ment of each realm of being from a sin­gle grain of sand on up to the stars.

There is a very real hier­ar­chy in Cre­ation, from the most infin­i­tes­i­mal of par­ti­cles on up through the plan­ets, stars, and galax­ies. For us humans here on Earth, we are each held in our own Auric Field of the Zodi­ac, which is in turn aligned to the Greater Aura of our Earth, which in turn is aligned with Zodi­a­cal Auric Field of our Solar Sys­tem, and then to the Zodi­a­cal Field of our Galaxy. Each of these “zodi­acs” is part of the One, and all are aligned to and cor­re­spond with one anoth­er. The order­ing of the Uni­verse is part of the One, that One “whose Cen­ter is Every­where, and whose Cir­cum­fer­ence is Nowhere”, and we are all ones of the One.

What this means for today is that rather than say­ing that the Sun moves into Can­cer today, what we should real­ly under­stand is that the Ener­gy-Form we call Can­cer is being activated/actualized by the Sun at this time of the year. All who are born at this time of the year will have the Can­cer Ener­gy-Form as their Root Nature, form­ing their essen­tial nature and pur­pose. Yet equal­ly, we should all under­stand, that some­where in our own charts, that some­where in our own con­sti­tu­tion, these mean­ings, sto­ries, and feel­ings of Can­cer are part of what makes us a whole per­son too.

So, what we wish to know is this, what is the essen­tial nature that we know as Can­cer? The answer is Can­cer is the ener­gy-form in which we call upon our feel­ings to help us make our way to the cen­ter of our­selves and our world. And equal­ly, that it forms the source or root of our nature by which we move out with our feel­ings to care for one anoth­er too. All water signs deal with this realm of con­nect­ed­ness, with our feel­ings, with the love that is our cen­ter, which is tru­ly the Love of the One.

In Can­cer we go inwards to the root of this Love, to expe­ri­ence the care and love of fam­i­ly, to have a sense of where we come from, and what formed us and holds us with a sense of belong­ing to those who came before. And it is from this cen­ter that is Love by which we reach out with our car­ing for one anoth­er too. In Scor­pio, we reach out­wards to one anoth­er, to form our Com­bi­na­tions and Unions with one anoth­er, so that we might dance and cre­ate in the alchem­i­cal spaces of birth, death, and rebirth. And in Pisces we reach out to the beyond, to what is yet to be, to the realms of our high­er Spir­it, to our Liv­ing Faith, to our Dreams and Imag­i­na­tion, and by this spir­i­tu­al chord of feel­ing we find our peace in the eter­nal con­nec­tion with the inef­fa­ble and unknow­able that is part of us and behind the whole of Cre­ation too.

By Can­cer, we feel and find our way to our cen­ter, that very same ener­gy-form “Whose Cen­ter is Every­where, and whose Cir­cum­fer­ence is Nowhere”. In Can­cer we under­stand that we came from the One, and that the spark of the Divine is our true self, which is Divine Love.

We are here because of love, and we are here to love one another.

Tran­script of Radio Show: Where are we now – Plu­to, Nep­tune & Uranus? (6/12/2022)

In just over one week, on June 21^st, we will find our­selves at one of the four great Turn­ings of the Astro­log­i­cal cal­en­dar, the Sol­stice of Can­cer. Which makes this is a good time to pause and recon­sid­er what are the major Astro­log­i­cal themes and mes­sages that are being impart­ed to us by our plan­e­tary com­pan­ions dur­ing this year.

As I will often remind my clients and write about in my blog as well as here on the radio show, I believe we should under­stand the posi­tions of the plan­ets in the Zodi­ac, and their align­ments with one anoth­er as they orbit around the Sun, as form­ing a dynam­ic spir­i­tu­al sys­tem of illu­mi­na­tions, mean­ings and inspi­ra­tions which can help us to bet­ter under­stand our­selves and our jour­ney here on Earth.

The mes­sages and mean­ings of a par­tic­u­lar align­ment of one plan­et to anoth­er, or indeed of them all, is formed by our under­stand­ing of the spir­i­tu­al qual­i­ties that are held in each sign of the zodi­ac, com­bined with the qual­i­ties of being that are held by each plan­et. How­ev­er, what this can­not deter­mine nor indi­cate is the actu­al cir­cum­stances of the phe­nom­e­na in ques­tion. The Zodi­ac and the plan­ets do not form the actu­al con­tent of any expe­ri­ence or event in ques­tion on any lev­el of man­i­fes­ta­tion, whether we look at the atom­ic or chem­i­cal micro­cosms in their spi­rals and vor­tices of com­bi­na­tions, or at the more com­plex organ­ic king­doms, and indeed all the way up to the human king­dom and beyond. Each realm of being, each realm of life, cre­ates and forms its own mate­ri­als of man­i­fes­ta­tion, their own realities.

It is in this unfold­ment of Spir­it, in its mul­ti­ple dimen­sions and realms of becom­ing, it is here we find the great pageantry of Spir­it-Life-Con­scious­ness, and that for every­thing and every­one we can note the birth or begin­ning of a man­i­fes­ta­tion, then fol­low the “Arc of Becom­ing” in that Ener­gy-Form, and even­tu­al­ly we will come to, in this realm of phys­i­cal being, the end of that form which many may mis­un­der­stand as Death. Because this is Truth, the entire Uni­verse is alive and con­scious and cease­less­ly becomes the body of the One by means of these dances of Spir­it through Space-Time, the whirling dancers of Light who weave the sto­ries of Birth-Life-Death and Re-Birth.

So, what we can obtain through Astrol­o­gy is a deep­er under­stand­ing as to the nature of what was born (by exam­in­ing the natal chart of that Life-Form or Enti­ty), and then equal­ly under­stand the Arc of its Exis­tence as formed by the cycles of the plan­ets between them­selves and by the align­ments they make to the chart of that being.

For our pur­pos­es as humans, as we seek to under­stand our human cre­ation, our “self-made selves”, and our expe­ri­ences in the world, that is to say the world we live and walk through each and every day, all the events and process­es of our human lives, the dis­parate range of oppor­tu­ni­ties and dan­gers that we face, the joy or the suf­fer­ing we encounter, all of this is our very own human real­i­ty and cre­ation. We are respon­si­ble for this, as it is we who have made our world. Yes indeed, the very great part our real­i­ty has been made by us, passed down to us our ances­tors, as it is we in turn who our forg­ing our present-day real­i­ty on Earth, and at the same time cre­at­ing the con­di­tions for those who will fol­low us. As Shake­speare so clear­ly put it in his play “Julius Cae­sar”, when Cas­sius says to Brutus,

“The fault, dear Bru­tus, is not in our stars / But in our­selves, that we are underlings.”

The whole pur­pose behind Cre­ation, the essen­tial nature of Spir­it, is to be and become, to move from non-being into being­ness by unfold­ing and extend­ing from the spir­i­tu­al hier­ar­chies into the hier­ar­chies of real­i­ties or of man­i­fes­ta­tions of which we humans are one part. We are here for one thing, to learn to be bet­ter humans, to become bet­ter cre­ators and to take respon­si­bil­i­ty for what was passed down to us, and even more care­ful­ly with what we will bequeath to our descen­dants. So let us turn to our review of the major cur­rent influ­ences as revealed to us by our com­pan­ions in the heavens.

I want to stress as I have many times before, that if we look to one planet’s posi­tion, or to one plan­et align­ing with a plan­et in a par­tic­u­lar chart, we will fail to under­stand the full mean­ing and mea­sure of what has hap­pened or will hap­pen. Though Astrologer’s will focus upon one fac­tor or anoth­er as they deter­mine the nature of an enti­ty, or to deter­mine what that enti­ty is expe­ri­enc­ing, the only way to tru­ly under­stand is to try to hold all these indi­ca­tions and influ­ences as being what they are, part of a larg­er and inte­gral whole. Nev­er­the­less, we will begin as we have done many times before, by con­sid­er­ing the mean­ings and mes­sages of the three out­er­most plan­ets, Plu­to, Nep­tune, and Uranus.

Plu­to
Since 2008 and run­ning until 2024, Plu­to has been mak­ing its once in every 245 years pas­sage through the sign of Capri­corn. As I have not­ed before, when Plu­to (which is the plan­et that rules the process­es of birth-death-rebirth), pass­es through the sign that rules the forms of Real­i­ty and Insti­tu­tion­al order, Capri­corn, that these peri­ods have been char­ac­ter­ized by the end­ing of a par­tic­u­lar Socio-Polit­i­cal sys­tem and the rise of a new order in his­to­ry. Whether we look to the pre­vi­ous pas­sages of 1762 to 1778, (which was the end­ing lead­ing to the begin­ning and the birth of our present order), or to 1516 to 1532 or even to 1269 to 1287, each of these times her­ald­ed the “end of an age” and the seed­ing or begin­ning of a new one.

What hap­pens dur­ing such a peri­od is brought about because the solu­tions that were formed and made into a new Socio-Polit­i­cal order, restruc­tur­ings which were need­ed to resolve the prob­lems that the pre­vi­ous age had cre­at­ed, these solu­tions and restruc­tur­ings for that pre­vi­ous cri­sis bring about their very own prob­lems over time. This is because the nature of the solu­tions of the pre­vi­ous order’s cri­sis cre­ates over the next 250 years their own series or sets of prob­lems, and the now exist­ing order can­not resolve the inher­ent con­tra­dic­tions it now faces. The break­down of the old order­ing of insti­tu­tions ulti­mate­ly cre­ates a cathar­sis of trans­for­ma­tion, of death and rebirth, lead­ing to actions and reac­tions that will even­tu­al­ly coa­lesce into the seed­ing of a new order in the next pas­sage of Plu­to, and that is when Plu­to moves through the sign of Aquar­ius. The last peri­ods for Plu­to in Aquar­ius were from 1778 to 1798 and 1532 to 1553. Though we are going through the end­ing of an Age, and it is hard as we have seen, giv­en the his­to­ry of what hap­pened in those pre­vi­ous times with Plu­to in Aquar­ius, we must under­stand there will be much work to do to bring about our new Order from 2024 onwards.

Plu­to is the ves­sel of the Will, of Pow­er of Con­trol, and as it goes through Capri­corn, we have seen the last gasps of the old orders of pow­er and the begin­nings of a new under­stand­ing about Will and Pow­er rise and emerge from this deconstruction.

But as I not­ed before, with­out con­sid­er­ing the next out­er plan­et, we will miss a big part of what is hap­pen­ing dur­ing each pas­sage of Plu­to in Capricorn.

Nep­tune
In a pre­vi­ous show I not­ed the inte­gral rela­tion­ship of the pas­sages of Nep­tune dur­ing the peri­od when Plu­to was in Capri­corn. Because of the nature of their orbital time peri­ods, it turns out that while Plu­to is in Capri­corn, Nep­tune will be in either Pisces or Vir­go for much of that time. I find this cor­re­spon­dence to be extreme­ly inter­est­ing and help­ful in under­stand­ing the dif­fer­ences we can see between one peri­od of Plu­to in Capri­corn and the next.

Where­as Plu­to holds as the Avatar of the Will and Pow­er, Nep­tune holds as the Avatar of Belief and Faith. The influ­ence of Nep­tune mov­ing through the Signs can be seen as the sto­ry of the unfold­ment for shifts in Con­scious­ness, because Nep­tune holds the Dreams and Illu­mi­na­tions, which may soar to the great­est heights of Uncon­di­tion­al Love and yet at oth­er times devolve into Illu­sions, as to how Real­i­ty is con­ceived, expe­ri­enced, and lived.

In our peri­od of Plu­to in Capri­corn from 2008 to 2024, Nep­tune has been in Pisces from 2011 and remains there until 2026. Where­as in the pre­vi­ous peri­od of 1762 to 1778 it was in Vir­go, and then in Pluto’s Capri­corn pas­sage from 1516 to 1532 it was in Pisces like in our peri­od. That indi­cates to me that our time of 2008 to 2024 is much more like the 1500’s than the 1700’s; our time is more Pis­cean in nature while the 1700’s was more Vir­goan. What might that mean?

For me, the peri­ods with Nep­tune in Vir­go would be more about order and struc­ture, more prac­ti­cal and crit­i­cal with regards to the shifts of faith that were occur­ring in the 1700’s. Where­as in the 1500’s as now with Nep­tune in Pisces, I would see that as the most like­ly to pro­duce the widest swings in mat­ters of belief and faith, of dreams and fears. That is because when Nep­tune is in Pisces the bound­aries between the var­i­ous realms of life and mean­ing are more pro­tean and per­me­able. Cer­tain­ly, in Europe in the 1500’s, the split of the Catholic church into numer­ous protes­tant faiths, along with the rise of a new polit­i­cal econ­o­my, was accom­pa­nied by extreme expres­sions of fer­vent devo­tion, and tremen­dous divi­sions between peo­ples and faiths as to what con­sti­tut­ed truth and what was real.

That strug­gle over the “phe­nom­e­nal archi­tec­ture” of the world, where there is a very real strug­gle over the very nature of good and evil, of what is right and wrong, between the light and the dark­ness, well that seems to be pre­vail­ing again in our time. Where­as the cri­sis in the 1700’s pre­sent­ed itself as a strug­gle about the polit­i­cal order, of the strug­gle between an order based on the Hier­ar­chy of King and Sub­jects ver­sus the Right to Self-Deter­mi­na­tion, in our time as in the 1500’s, it seems that the divi­sions between indi­vid­u­als and groups has a more extreme qual­i­ty, in that it is char­ac­ter­ized by a fun­da­men­tal split as to the nature of real­i­ty itself. There are so many com­pet­ing sto­ries of what is true, ver­sus half-truths ver­sus what is seri­ous­ly delu­sion­al that we can­not even agree to lis­ten to one anoth­er, and we cer­tain­ly do not under­stand one another.

The struc­ture of Will and Pow­er in any con­struct, is made mean­ing­ful, believ­able, and true by the Faith and Dreams of that time. For the Plu­ton­ian Will to work, it must be guid­ed, shaped, and yet equal­ly restrained by the Nep­tun­ian mes­sage of the Divine, which is ulti­mate­ly expe­ri­enced as Uncon­di­tion­al Love. When this bal­ance breaks down, as we see all around us now, we find a world where Insti­tu­tions fail to ful­fill their mis­sion, and the peo­ple see the promise of a bet­ter world for­sak­en, and we equal­ly see the author­i­ties charged with the respon­si­bil­i­ties to address the needs of the times, fail­ing to do enough of what is right for the com­mon good, or abus­ing their pow­er for self­ish ends. Hope is lost in the fog and con­fu­sion of a world that no longer makes sense or works. As William But­ler Yeats famous­ly wrote in his poem “The Sec­ond Coming”:

“Things fall apart; the cen­ter can­not hold…The best lack all con­vic­tion, while the worst 
Are full of pas­sion­ate intensity.”

We will see what the next pas­sage of Nep­tune will bring, when it makes the shift from Pisces into Aries in 2026. Just as Plu­to in Aquar­ius indi­cates the great work of build­ing a new order will have begun, that re-birth of Plu­to will be guid­ed and inspired (as it was in the 1500’s) by Neptune’s move­ment through Aries.

Uranus
To com­plete the overview for our present time, we need to bring in the third Avatar of the tri­ad of Spir­it, Uranus. It is the pur­pose of Uranus to hold the Inno­v­a­tive, Cre­ative and Mind­ful nature of Spir­it. As much as Nep­tune rules and holds the ques­tions of Faith, Uranus brings in the coun­ter­point of Rea­son and Crit­i­cal think­ing. Togeth­er they hold the Ener­gy-Forms of the Rea­son­ing Mind and the Intu­ition­al Spir­it. They can also be seen as the hold­ers of the inte­gral rela­tion­ship between Indi­vid­u­al­i­ty (Uranus) and Com­mu­nal­i­ty (Nep­tune). Both these qual­i­ties are nec­es­sary, but they vary in their inten­si­ty and inte­gra­tion, some­times in bal­ance with one anoth­er and some­times one pre­vail­ing as more dom­i­nant in dif­fer­ent soci­eties and times.

As we have not­ed often, Uranus’ posi­tion dur­ing this peri­od seems sig­nif­i­cant too, as it is mov­ing through the Sign of Tau­rus from 2018 to 2026. Tau­rus is the ves­sel of Val­ue, and from it we even­tu­al­ly come to under­stand that what stands behind all mea­sures and man­i­fes­ta­tions of val­ue is the one ever­last­ing Val­ue, Divine Uncon­di­tion­al Love; that every­thing and every being is a spark of the Divine, and all are pre­cious in the Love that is the One.

What this means as Uranus moves through Tau­rus is that our under­stand­ing and expe­ri­ence of val­ue is being “shook up” by Uranus, which is also known as the ruler of shocks, sur­pris­es, and earth­quakes. Uranus shakes us and breaks us from our attach­ments to less­er under­stand­ings (in this case with regards to the ques­tion of our val­ues and hier­ar­chy of val­ue), not to harm and dis­turb us but to wake us up, to make us open our eyes with won­der again. Uranus is the lib­er­a­tor, and it helps us to be free from self-made fil­ters that lim­it our under­stand­ing; it brings the gift of an open mind so that we might see once again, “with the eyes of a child”.

I have also not­ed that Uranus holds a spe­cial rela­tion­ship of cor­re­spon­dence with Nep­tune (that is like the har­mon­ics of Nep­tune with Plu­to), in that one orbit of Nep­tune equals two of Uranus. Uranus is in Tau­rus every 84 years or so, and the last times were, 1935 to 1942, 1851 to 1859 and 1768 to 1775. In world his­to­ry, and cer­tain­ly for Amer­i­can his­to­ry, those years stand out as moments when earth­quakes shook the world of ideas for the con­cepts of val­ue. For our peri­od, the peri­od most like our own is 1851 to 1859, which were the lead up to our Civ­il War, and that is the last time that Nep­tune was in Pisces while Uranus was in Tau­rus, just like now. Once again, we have the alter­na­tion of Nep­tune being in Pisces or Vir­go, while Uranus moves through Tau­rus. Once again, we are at a time that bears a strik­ing resem­blance to anoth­er time in his­to­ry, and much the same themes as to how we val­ue one anoth­er are before us once again.

In our present time we are once again faced with the Plu­ton­ian realm of Will and Pow­er break­ing down insti­tu­tion­al­ly, so that the hier­ar­chy of order and respon­si­bil­i­ty fails, and indi­vid­u­als and groups assume their own author­i­ty to chal­lenge the exist­ing order, to wield their uncen­tered and so unspir­i­tu­al pow­er, lay­ing claim to rights that are not root­ed in truth, as for exam­ple seen in the sedi­tious mob shout­ing as they stormed the Capi­tol on Jan­u­ary 6^th say­ing, “this is our house”.

We find that the Nep­tun­ian Realm of Faith and Belief, no longer held togeth­er by a func­tion­ing hier­ar­chy of insti­tu­tion­al struc­tures, devolv­ing into each per­son and group assum­ing their right to be the deter­min­er of what is true or false, and so our com­mon under­stand­ing is bro­ken, and half-truths root­ed in fear fuel an atmos­phere filled with sus­pi­cions, mis­trust, and isolation.

Final­ly, the gift of Uranus, of hav­ing the capac­i­ty to think “out­side the ordi­nary”, to be a con­trar­i­an, devolves into unmoored asser­tions of fic­tions as fact, as a ver­i­ta­ble tsuna­mi of lies swamps the realm of mind, so that the act of being con­trary is not to help free one another’s minds but is used as a bat­ter­ing ram to sow con­fu­sion and doubt where noth­ing is true, and so every­thing become impossible.

Giv­en where we are, what are we do? I do have hope, as I do know that humans have faced the dark­est of hours and still found their way back into the light. Why? Because the Light nev­er left, nor will it ever go out. The Light of the One it is at the heart of each and every one of us. We only need to remem­ber, who and what we are, and then act by and through that under­stand­ing. In all that we do, we must remain cen­tered and pur­pose­ful with the wis­dom that begins with this, that the Uni­verse is formed by Love and is made of Truth.

When we do stand fast and aligned with our spir­it, we know that there is truth, and it is love. We know that there is hope because we have faith. We know that our faith is not root­ed in a teach­ing or a book, but it is instead a liv­ing faith found­ed upon the spark of the Divine shin­ing in every one of us. When we lis­ten to that qui­et, gen­tle voice remind­ing us of who we are, then we will know what to do and how to do it.

We are on the path of Light; and that Light is Love.
