Sat­urn Nep­tune Cycle in Per­son­al Terms

To con­clude the dis­cus­sion regard­ing the Saturn/Neptune square for now, I wish to con­sid­er the impli­ca­tions of this aspect for indi­vid­u­als, groups and soci­ety in general.

The cycle of Sat­urn and Nep­tune, last­ing about 36 years, con­cerns the involutionary/evolutionary inte­gra­tion of our struc­tures of Real­i­ty (Sat­urn) with one of the three won­drous pow­ers that account for our spir­i­tu­al gift of self-unfold­ment, that par­tic­u­lar expe­ri­ence being the process of Illu­mi­na­tion as we exer­cise our Intu­ition­al nature through our Dreaming/Imagination (Nep­tune).

The Saturn/Neptune cycle com­mences with the release of a new impulse at their con­junc­tion and then unfolds over the next 36 years through phas­es of at times more grace­ful and then more chal­leng­ing artic­u­la­tions of inte­gra­tion (or lack there­of) with one another.

For us, from Novem­ber 2015 into Sep­tem­ber 2016, we are seek­ing to under­stand (again) one of the more chal­leng­ing moments in their cycle. Where­as the Con­junc­tion (0°) and cer­tain­ly the Sex­tile (60°) and Trine (120°) can be expe­ri­enced more ele­gant­ly, the Oppo­si­tion (180°) and the Wax­ing or Wan­ing Square (90°) are often more asso­ci­at­ed with fric­tions, frac­tions and schisms. We are encoun­ter­ing the chal­lenge of the Wan­ing Square this year.

Both the Wax­ing and Wan­ing Squares can be under­stood as times of Cri­sis, where this cycle rela­tion­ship of Dreams and Real­i­ty has arrived at a crit­i­cal moment of deci­sion, and we need, or are forced, to face the dilem­mas inward­ly and out­ward­ly regard­ing what­ev­er we encounter at this turn­ing. Giv­en the choic­es met at the Wan­ing Square, there are real­ly two pos­si­ble outcomes:

1) We can rise to the chal­lenge (through Love), face the sit­u­a­tion open­ly and wise­ly, and so lift our­selves up to a high­er lev­el of func­tion­ing. We can choose to face our­selves and our world and make this present dif­fi­cul­ty into an oppor­tu­ni­ty to grow beyond our for­mer self-lim­i­ta­tions, (those very self-lim­i­ta­tions being what actu­al­ly brought us to this very cri­sis), because we resolve, because we are inspired, to move beyond or through the old dichotomies and assump­tions, and this brings us into a high­er lev­el of under­stand­ing and action….or,

2) We fall back (frozen by fear), and cling to the shells of false-mean­ing (and dis­card the ker­nels of truth). We seek refuge in the rigid­i­ty of com­fort­able cer­tain­ties as we deny the “liv­ing spir­it”. We deny our own true self as we fail to hear the Song of Spir­it which is seek­ing to help us break free, to help us move beyond what have become the dog­mas and phar­i­saical prac­tices that have brought us to our self-doubts and despair.

The par­tic­u­lar ques­tion posed by Sat­urn and Nep­tune for each of us this year can be found by their respec­tive posi­tion in Astro­log­i­cal Signs. Sat­urn is mov­ing through Sagit­tar­ius, while Nep­tune is mov­ing through Pisces. Sat­urn, the Teacher/Tester and hold­er of Real­i­ty and Insti­tu­tions, is bring­ing us to exam­ine our rela­tion­ship to Truth, to the Sci­ences, Phi­los­o­phy and Reli­gion. Where­as Nep­tune, the Uni­ver­sal Sol­vent, Dis­solver of Bound­aries, Agent of Uni­ver­sal Love and Com­pas­sion is in its very own sign, and call­ing us to anchor our­selves in the greater Real­i­ty in which we tru­ly abide. That under­ly­ing or True Real­i­ty is this: That we are all sparks of the Divine, we are all relat­ed to one anoth­er and we all abide in the Love of the One. And, it is this Love of and by the One which holds us all togeth­er for­ev­er and ever. And so, there is but one path for­ward (always), and that is to Love one anoth­er. If what­ev­er we feel, or think or do does not fol­low from this fun­da­men­tal Truth, then it will come to noth­ing in the end.

With Nep­tune being the out­er­most plan­et, and being part of the Spir­i­tu­al Tri­ad of our spir­i­tu­al quick­en­ing, we should look to it as tak­ing the lead in the elic­i­ta­tion that will move us along the path of our spir­i­tu­al evo­lu­tion. It will help us to dis­pel any notions which seek to divide or sep­a­rate us, counter any actions which seek to make some greater and oth­ers less, and instead lead us out from with­in and inspire us to act with even greater com­pas­sion, under­stand­ing and love for one another.

But if any indi­vid­ual or group face this cri­sis and see only dan­ger and betray­al, it is because they hold to a fear-based real­i­ty of what they believe was lost. They fall into the frac­tured mir­rors of mad­ness that are the inverse of the “Wis­dom that is Love”, and into the pain of Nep­tun­ian Delu­sion and Self-Decep­tion. They will make of them­selves mar­tyrs and heroes, as they blame some “oth­er” for what they see as bro­ken promis­es and decep­tion. They become the “enthralled”, dri­ven by their self-cast fears of Sat­urn, and so become deceived into false­hoods of superior/inferior, whether in terms of beliefs, pol­i­tics or per­son­al behav­iors. They will seek to divide, allo­cate blame and act against the greater good, and so ulti­mate­ly bring great pain to them­selves (but also many oth­ers) by this false faith formed from dis­cord and fear.

The one True path remains the same, year after year, and life after life…and it will bring you, if you remain true to who you real­ly are, out of all such dark­ness and fear. The song of spir­i­tu­al self-awak­en­ing is what you must lis­ten for, the kind­li­ness, gen­tle­ness and love is what your soul lives from, by and for. Your high­er-self, your Spark of the Divine, is for­ev­er singing these Psalms of Love.

The qui­et, steady and lov­ing flame of the One will always remind you to resist those inner and out­er voic­es of fear, doubt, hatred and inse­cu­ri­ty. Instead, you will smile as you remem­ber your true nature. You are here to Dream of a Greater Real­i­ty, to Love every oth­er as you love yourself…And so it will come to pass, you will move steadi­ly and sure­ly out of these shad­ows and into the realm of Light.

Sat­urn Nep­tune Cycle

Con­tin­u­ing from Part One, in today’s pod­cast I con­sid­er the con­tri­bu­tion of the Third lev­el in this tri­par­tite Hier­ar­chy of Plan­e­tary forces, the inter­sec­tion of Jupiter’s orbit with the four pre­vi­ous plan­ets of Sat­urn, Uranus, Nep­tune and Plu­to. The influ­ence of Jupiter, the ruler of Truths, Phi­los­o­phy, Sci­ence and Reli­gion is to bestow the var­i­ous mean­ings for our jour­ney from unself-con­scious sparks of the divine to our even­tu­al awak­en­ing as ful­ly con­scious co-cre­ators of Creation.

These four mod­u­la­tions of Jupiter are: Jupiter/Saturn form­ing Truth and Order or how we bring Mean­ing into Man­i­fes­ta­tion. Jupiter/Uranus form­ing Truth and Freer Minds or how we bring Under­stand­ing into our mutu­al Lib­er­a­tion. Jupiter/Neptune form­ing Truth and Uni­ver­sal Love or how we come to under­stand the Truth of our One­ness. And, Jupiter/Pluto form­ing Truth and Will or how we Live in Truth in our Sacred Spaces.

Then I will con­sid­er one of the sig­na­ture align­ments of this year (actu­al­ly from Fall 2015 through Fall 2016), the Saturn/Neptune wan­ing square. Their rela­tion­ship artic­u­lates the ways and means by which we seek to inte­grate our Real­i­ty and our Dreams, of how we see the align­ment or dis­con­nects between our Visions of our life and the Phys­i­cal facts of our expe­ri­ence. Their Syn­od­ic cycle (from Con­junc­tion to Con­junc­tion,  like a New Moon to New Moon), is about 36 years.

The con­junc­tion of Sat­urn with Nep­tune forms the release of a new state­ment or instance of Dreams becom­ing Real­i­ty. This new impulse is then re-exam­ined, choic­es are faced and we are test­ed at the wax­ing square about 9 years lat­er. The ful­fill­ment and/or so-called fail­ure of this effort is then expe­ri­enced at their oppo­si­tion 9 years lat­er (which is like a Full Moon), when Sat­urn is on one side of Earth and Nep­tune upon the oth­er side. The wan­ing square 9 years lat­er, where we are this year, presents anoth­er moment of choice, but this time the devel­op­ment of Dreams becom­ing Real­i­ty (or Real­i­ty deny­ing Dreams), requires a “let­ting go” in order to grow. For at each wan­ing square, of what­ev­er plan­e­tary pair we are con­sid­er­ing, we are chal­lenged to face our assump­tions, thought-forms and ideals that have brought us to this point. We are giv­en an oppor­tu­ni­ty to see what must be tran­scend­ed or released so that we can con­tin­ue to grow on this path of ful­fill­ment, and/or to change direc­tion alto­geth­er to a bet­ter path if what has been so far real­ized is not true to our dreams.

The par­tic­u­lar focus of this Saturn/Neptune square can be ascer­tained by ref­er­enc­ing their Astro­log­i­cal Sign place­ments as they square one anoth­er. Nep­tune is in its own sign of Pisces, (which we last expe­ri­enced from 1848–8162), and is car­ry­ing the mes­sage of our most pre­cious gift of the Imag­i­na­tion and the pow­er of our Dreams as the source of our Real­i­ty-Mak­ing. That the Pow­er of our Faith can be found in our Spir­i­tu­al Nature, that we are in Truth the cre­ators of our reality.

Sat­urn is in Sagit­tar­ius, (the time before this was 1985–1988), and our deter­mi­na­tions of what is real­ly True, of what is cor­rect or right as artic­u­lat­ed by our Sci­ence, Law, Reli­gion and Phi­los­o­phy is being shaped/challenged in this wan­ing square by our under­stand­ing through Nep­tune. Nep­tune is chal­leng­ing Sat­urn­ian rigid­i­ty and dog­ma by this “Liv­ing Spir­it” of Nep­tune in Pisces, and that through this Greater Under­stand­ing we can re-expe­ri­ence that “we are one” in Truth.

We are one in Spir­it, and so in all things we should be guid­ed by the fun­da­men­tal warn­ing that the Great Illu­sion of any age is the error of Sep­a­ra­tion. That if we allow our­selves to be divid­ed from one anoth­er, if we make some of us into some­thing less, then this will lead to the divi­sion by those who wield a posi­tion of the supe­ri­or, who will then bring harm to those they con­sid­er to be less­er. By this we will reap only bit­ter fruits, as we bring about fear, pain and suf­fer­ing through injus­tice… and we will fall from grace, as we fail to ful­fill our human­i­ty and our spir­i­tu­al promise.

But real­ly, tru­ly, we are all one in Spirit…and so the Uni­ver­sal Teach­ings, the Ancient Wis­dom behind all less­er teach­ings shines forth again in the right align­ment of Sagit­tar­ius and Pisces in the Great Law or Truth:

“Do unto oth­ers as you would have them do unto you….for before you is anoth­er who is as you, you are the same, and what you do to the least of any of these you do to the One.”

There is no oth­er way than the One Way, “Love one another”.

Podcast—2016 Fore­cast Overview

Part One: The Hier­ar­chy of Plan­e­tary Forces

The fol­low­ing series of pod­casts will exam­ine the major Astro­log­i­cal fac­tors influ­enc­ing our lives and world dur­ing 2016. Today’s pod­cast, Part One, is a brief intro­duc­tion to the Tri-Par­tite Hier­ar­chy of Plan­e­tary forces of the major plan­ets: First­ly, you have Plu­to, Nep­tune and Uranus. Sec­ond­ly, comes these three inter­re­lat­ing with Sat­urn. Third­ly, you have these four inter­re­lat­ing with Jupiter.

The First lev­el in this Hier­ar­chy is formed by Plu­to, Nep­tune and Uranus which togeth­er com­prise the Long-Wave or Sub­stan­tial Spir­i­tu­al Evo­lu­tion­ary forces for our plan­e­tary sys­tem. Each mov­ing through the signs, and form­ing sig­nif­i­cant aspects to one anoth­er cre­ate the rhyth­mic puls­es of Spir­i­tu­al quick­en­ing for our journey.

These Lords of Spir­i­tu­al Evo­lu­tion com­bine to form three Plan­e­tary pairs of mean­ing: Neptune/Pluto form­ing the rela­tion­ship of Uncon­di­tion­al Love ver­sus Sacred Space or Love and Will. Uranus/Neptune form­ing the rela­tion­ship between Indi­vid­u­al­i­ty ver­sus Com­mu­ni­ty or Freer Minds and Uncon­di­tion­al Love. And, Uranus/Pluto form­ing the rela­tion­ship between Indi­vid­u­al­i­ty ver­sus Sacred Space or Freer Minds and Will. These long-range evo­lu­tion­ary cycles range from about 500 to 130 years.

The Sec­ond lev­el in this Hier­ar­chy com­bines these out­er three with the mod­u­la­tions formed by their respec­tive inter­sec­tions with the plan­et Sat­urn. Here you expe­ri­ence the inter­play of the Evo­lu­tion­ary Forces of Uranus, Nep­tune and Plu­to with the Struc­tures or Objec­tive Realms of Sat­urn, which will often unfold seem­ing­ly through “dis­cords” or “clash­es” of the trans­for­ma­tion­al plan­ets with the conserving/crystallizing forces of Sat­urn. These three are: Saturn/Uranus form­ing Order and Free Minds or Tra­di­tion ver­sus Inno­va­tion. Saturn/Neptune form­ing Order and Dreams or Tra­di­tion ver­sus Com­pas­sion. And, Saturn/Pluto form­ing Order and Will or Tra­di­tion ver­sus Sacred Space. These mid-range crys­tal­liz­ing cycles range from about 45 to over 30 years.

The Third lev­el in this Hier­ar­chy com­bines these four with the mod­u­la­tions cre­at­ed by their respec­tive inter­sec­tions with the plan­et Jupiter. Here you expe­ri­ence the inter­play of the Evo­lu­tion­ary and Crys­tal­liz­ing Forces with the Expansionary/Exploring Forces of Jupiter. These four pairs are: Jupiter/Saturn form­ing Truth and Order or Mean­ing and Man­i­fes­ta­tion. Jupiter/Uranus form­ing Truth and Freer Minds or Mean­ing and Lib­er­a­tion. Jupiter/Neptune form­ing Truth and Uni­ver­sal Love or Mean­ing and One­ness. And, Jupiter/Pluto form­ing Truth and Will or Mean­ing and Sacred Space. These short­er wave growth cycles range from 20 to 12 years.

Today’s pod­cast will begin the dis­cus­sion of this tri­par­tite hier­ar­chy, as we begin to try and under­stand these gifts of the spir­it for 2016. The major influ­ences we will look at for this year will be: 1) The wan­ing square of Sat­urn with Nep­tune, 2) the wan­ing square of Jupiter with Sat­urn, and 3) the wan­ing trine of Sat­urn with Uranus. But we will need to look at all these three (and more) with­in the con­text of the greater align­ment that has and still defines our peri­od. This fun­da­men­tal elic­i­ta­tion of Spir­it marks our time as the “end of an age” and the “dawn of a new age”, being her­ald­ed by Uranus in Aries form­ing a wax­ing square to Plu­to in Capricorn.

We have not been wit­ness to changes such as these for over 240 years, not since the 1760’s to the 1770’s, and before that from 1516 to 1532. Much like those indi­vid­u­als, cul­tures and coun­tries in their time, we too now face the awe­some respon­si­bil­i­ty of re-mak­ing our­selves and our pre­cious world for the bet­ter, to love not hate, to unite not divide, and so build bridges of under­stand­ing, com­pas­sion and love for one and all.

Alpha and Omega

The long, spi­ral­ing sto­ry of Spirit,

Turns again.

For you are a most won­drous spark of the Divine,

Reach­ing high­er, shin­ing brighter through,

This Infi­nite Hier­ar­chy of Light.

Mov­ing through Worlds, Bod­ies and Lives,

By Space-Time and through Energy-Forms,

You abide for a while on Earth, as

You are becom­ing human, for now.

For­ev­er, you are the “Self-That-Is-Becom­ing”,

Sur­round­ed, formed and inspired by the Heav­en­ly Hosts,

Who form the Warp and Weave of the Cosmos.

They are the Holy of Holies,

The Cir­cle of the Liv­ing Ones,

The Zodi­ac.

You are them, and they are you.

For you are not an “Aries”, or “Tau­rus” or “Gem­i­ni”,

You are them all, oh yes, yes you are.

For it is by won­drous ways of spir­i­tu­al alchemy,

That you bring each Sign’s Strengths, Sen­si­bil­i­ties and Love together,

To form your­self and also one anoth­er too.

Each spark, each light that is love,

Is a unique­ly indi­vid­ual and inte­gral com­bi­na­tion of

Each and every Sign.

And it is by these pre­cious blendings,

It is by this that you reveal your Quintessence,

That “spe­cial­ness” that is you.

And so your song, your melody will sound forth,

Truer, fin­er and draw­ing clos­er to the One Path,

That is the Song of Spirit.

Today, your year­ly pilgrim’s progress

Through these Twelve Man­sions of Manifestation,

Has brought you from your Alpha in Aries to this Omega of Pisces.

From your Incar­na­tion of Pres­ence to your Transper­son­al Purpose,

Today you enter this Por­tal of The Promise,

Today you come home to Pisces.

Your year will always begin in the Fires of Aries,

By the Gift of Spir­it, you rejoice in the resplen­dence of New Beginnings.

And it will always end, as now and for­ev­er after,

By Spir­i­tu­al bless­ings bestowed, by the encom­pass­ing Com­pas­sion of Pisces.

For you are here to bow down in Grace, and so rise up in lumi­nous glory,

Find­ing your way home, to the One through the many,

Return­ing, to these Waters of Faith, Under­stand­ing and Love.

It is here that you weave togeth­er your tri­umphs and tragedies,

The gifts of your suc­cess­es and your fail­ures too.

For you will real­ize that you have grown, far, far more from your errors

Than from when you were sup­pos­ed­ly “right”.

You learned to pick your­self up, and try again.

You found your courage and faith…and you were humbled,

And so you were lift­ed up too.

You became a bet­ter you, a wis­er you.

You learned the Wis­dom of Love.

You came to under­stand all the teachings,

The Ways of the Lone­ly Ones.

That you are here to love, and be loved.

And your first step is to for­give one another,

But most espe­cial­ly, to for­give your­self too.

You now know,

You are what you dreamed.

You are made by what you thought,

And you will always reap what you sow.

The Law is the Law, and it is quite sim­ply this:

You are here to be what you are,

To Love as you are loved…

For all of Cre­ation is this Love of the One.

And so Now, now you under­stand and accept.

That it is all about this Journey,

From the One to the many, and back…and so to be as One.

You are the Dream­er, the Self-Cre­ator, and

You are here to choose Light and Life and Love.

You will weave your robe of glory,

Abid­ing in Faith and by your Love,

You are free from Fear; You are Immortal.

Grey shad­ows of old will burn away,

Reveal­ing all there is, a sweet super­nal Light.

You know there is but one injunction,

As you move from Worlds, Forms and Lives,

You are here to pass through many per­ils and portals,

To find Wis­dom, and so live by the Joy­ful Truth.

For­ev­er and forever,

You are the Alpha and Omega, and

You are here because of Love.

You are here to Love and to be Loved.

You are here to be this Love.

The One, and the Many…We are all related

The Cir­cle of the Liv­ing Ones is turn­ing once more…
Your time in Earthy Capri­corn must now yield,
To the thought-filled realm that is your time in Airy Aquarius.

Though all these Twelve Fun­da­men­tal Ener­gy-Forms are ever present and active, it is most cer­tain­ly true that dur­ing each astro­log­i­cal month you should pay par­tic­u­lar atten­tion to the lessons and inspi­ra­tions of that sign. After all, you are real­ly not “a sign”, but a unique blend­ing of all these Twelve, formed into inte­gral inter­re­la­tion­ships that in sum cre­ate and express your nature. In any one life, and through count­less worlds, forms and lives, it is by these many expe­ri­ences and myr­i­ad com­bi­na­tions of each of these signs that you slow­ly learn to mas­ter them all. This is the path by which you will ful­fill your destiny…You will awak­en, and you will meet your promise which is to be “ful­ly human”, to be a ful­ly con­scious co-cre­ator of Cre­ation who is inspired and guid­ed by a Free Mind, Uncon­di­tion­al Love and a Cen­tered Will.

Tru­ly there is but one path to follow…but there are many, many ways. Just as there is but One life, One spirit…but many, many sparks of the Divine. You are one, and you are also one of many oth­er ones who togeth­er form this spi­ral­ing jour­ney of Life-Con­scious­ness-Spir­it. This is the Jour­ney of the One through Time and Space, and each spark of this One is an aspect of the “self-that-is-becom­ing”. Each of you is the “same”, and yet each of you is “different”…special, an indi­vid­ual. You are a unique dew-drop in the Ocean of Spir­it, whose very unfold­ment of Spir­i­tu­al Poten­cy and Promise is dri­ven by your Svab­ha­va, which is the essence of you. That is because this very essence of you is a spark of the Divine, it is your High­er Self, which is the core of you, and it is this which makes you “you”.

But for you to become you, this will not and can­not be done by your­self alone. For how could you? The great Illu­sion that is Sep­a­ra­tion must also be bro­ken by you, time and time again. For though you may seem to be this “one”, unique and sep­a­rate from your fel­low human beings, and indeed may even in some belief sys­tems hold your­self apart from all oth­er life-forms, this is most cer­tain­ly and emphat­i­cal­ly (and empath­i­cal­ly) not true at all Spiritually.

For all humans, and all life-forms, come from the one Divine Source. That is why one of the fun­da­men­tal pre­cepts and cor­ner­stones of the Ancient Wis­dom, and which is to be found in the “heart-teach­ings” or eso­teric cores of all Phi­los­o­phy, Sci­ence and Reli­gion is this most ele­gant Truth:

“WE ARE ALL RELATED”

As humans, we form one anoth­er, we are made of one anoth­er as we are most cer­tain­ly and of neces­si­ty “Social Beings”. From infan­cy by our par­ents and by sib­lings, then on through friends and teach­ers, part­ners and com­peti­tors, col­leagues and com­pa­tri­ots, we are all made from the expe­ri­ences we have cre­at­ed with one anoth­er. We are all “mixed-up” togeth­er so that we have formed with­in each of us inte­gral infu­sions of expe­ri­ence, sen­si­bil­i­ty, likes and loves from all with whom we have con­tact, here and now and in many, many past lives too…and there is no way to sep­a­rate us from one anoth­er at all. All our hopes and dreams are bound up with one anoth­er as we trav­el through these worlds, forms and lives in life after life.

And so like­wise as we enter this time of Aquar­ius, what you dream and wish for your­self has been large­ly shaped by your fam­i­ly, com­mu­ni­ties, cul­tures and beliefs. These long­ings for a bet­ter world and a truer life have been formed, impart­ed and shared by your jour­ney with one anoth­er. For as much as in Capri­corn you were asked to shoul­der your respon­si­bil­i­ties so as to pre­serve, pro­tect and ful­fill the achieve­ments embod­ied in the great works of civ­i­liza­tion, and there­by hon­or and revere your ances­tors and their gift to you of what was formed through the ages…It is on you now from the Aquar­i­an part of you, and in this time of Aquar­ius, to look out ahead, to imag­ine a bet­ter world for you and yours, and to take up the joy­ful task of build­ing those bet­ter worlds of tomorrow.

And for those bet­ter worlds to be, the only way that they will come into being is if each and every one of us under­stands this: That the truest, most human dreams are made and met by help­ing one anoth­er to make those dreams come true. How could it be oth­er­wise? For at the end of the day, as much as we may need or enjoy var­i­ous “things” in our world, at the end of the day it all comes down to our expe­ri­ences with one anoth­er. To share in the joys and pains, the tri­umphs and tragedies of rich­ly ful­filled lives by help­ing one anoth­er make our dreams come true…this is the heart of Aquar­ius. Just as we have made one anoth­er, are all what we are because of one anoth­er, so too does it fol­low that our dreams are made of one anoth­er too.
