Nep\u00adtune in the USA<\/span> Chart, the tran\u00adsit of Nep\u00adtune and the shap\u00ading of Pol\u00adi\u00adtics and Par\u00adty Evo\u00adlu\u00adtion in the USA<\/span> <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In my fifth show of 2024, I want to return to anoth\u00ader theme I have addressed over the past many years which is the impor\u00adtance of Nep\u00adtune in the chart of the USA<\/span>, and how Neptune\u2019s tran\u00adsits to the USA<\/span> chart dis\u00adtin\u00adguish, define, and con\u00adnect the shifts in pol\u00adi\u00adtics and polit\u00adi\u00adcal par\u00adties in the USA<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Of course, the real devel\u00adop\u00adment and evo\u00adlu\u00adtion of polit\u00adi\u00adcal par\u00adties is forged by humans, by our shift\u00ading life\u00adways, cul\u00adtures, and eco\u00adnom\u00adic lives. But just as we are guid\u00aded and shaped indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adal\u00adly by the \u201cdance of the plan\u00adets\u201d, these \u201ctime\u00adkeep\u00aders\u201d of our solar sys\u00adtem can pro\u00advide insights as to the nature and tim\u00ading of the shifts in our polit\u00adi\u00adcal orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions too.<\/p>\n

First\u00adly, we must remem\u00adber that Neptune\u2019s influ\u00adence is very impor\u00adtant in the USA<\/span> chart. The place\u00adment of Nep\u00adtune in the chart of the USA<\/span> is quite promi\u00adnent as it is at the very high\u00adest point, at the top of the chart, in the 9th house of Under\u00adstand\u00ading. Nep\u00adtune in a Mun\u00addane chart is the ves\u00adsel for the dreams of a nation. A prin\u00adci\u00adpal found\u00ading myth of the Unit\u00aded States is the sense of being a quin\u00adtes\u00adsen\u00adtial\u00adly excep\u00adtion\u00adal nation, a \u201cfirst of its kind\u201d. The nation\u00adal seal of the USA<\/span> declares that it is a Novus ordo seclo\u00adrum<\/em> (a \u201cNew order of the ages\u201d).<\/p>\n

Unlike pre\u00advi\u00adous nation states, the USA<\/span> came into being as a covenant nation, with the goal of unit\u00ading and hold\u00ading togeth\u00ader dis\u00adparate peo\u00adples from around the world, and that which would bind us togeth\u00ader was not our race, or cul\u00adture or creed; no, we would pledge our alle\u00adgiance to an idea, to an Ide\u00adal. That for the first time we would be a nation where the Law itself would be King, and we would cre\u00adate a social order for those who are seek\u00ading to live a freer life, and that we would be a shin\u00ading exam\u00adple of Free\u00addom and Tol\u00ader\u00adance, in a com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty of Fel\u00adlow\u00adship. The USA<\/span> would be a new soci\u00adety, formed by a belief in one another\u2019s self-ful\u00adfill\u00adment as being made pos\u00adsi\u00adble through one anoth\u00ader, and by our self-gov\u00adern\u00adment, where\u00adin we would care for one anoth\u00ader; and we affirmed in our Dec\u00adla\u00adra\u00adtion of Inde\u00adpen\u00addence, that \u201cWe Mutu\u00adal\u00adly Pledge To Each Oth\u00ader Our Lives, Our For\u00adtunes, And Our Sacred Hon\u00ador\u201d, and that we would strive to cre\u00adate a space of free\u00addom and jus\u00adtice for one and for all.<\/p>\n

The record of the polit\u00adi\u00adcal orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions or par\u00adties in the USA<\/span> has been defined by his\u00adto\u00adri\u00adans into (so far) sev\u00aden dis\u00adtinct peri\u00adods: The First Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem from 1792 to 1824, Sec\u00adond Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem from 1828 to 1854, Third Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem from 1854 to 1896, Fourth Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem from 1896 to 1932, Fifth Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem from 1932 to 1980, Sixth Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem from 1980 to 2016, and the Sev\u00adenth Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem from 2016 to (who knows).<\/p>\n

A polit\u00adi\u00adcal order will be informed and shaped by the dreams of a peo\u00adple, and these dreams and their evo\u00adlu\u00adtion can be seen to be held and shaped by Neptune\u2019s orbit. What we will find is that as Nep\u00adtune cir\u00adcles around the solar sys\u00adtem every 160 years or so, it will make sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant align\u00adments with ele\u00adments in the USA<\/span> chart that cor\u00adre\u00adspond to these shifts in the polit\u00adi\u00adcal cul\u00adture and shape the polit\u00adi\u00adcal par\u00adty struc\u00adture of the USA<\/span>. The shifts in polit\u00adi\u00adcal align\u00adments can be under\u00adstood and timed by the divi\u00adsions of this cycle, whether a com\u00adplete cycle of about 160 years, or of about 80 years or about 40 years. In an ear\u00adli\u00ader show in 2021, I also not\u00aded how the two pre\u00adem\u00adi\u00adnent par\u00adties that emerged in the USA<\/span>, the Demo\u00adc\u00adrat and Repub\u00adli\u00adcan Par\u00adties, have sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant Nep\u00adtune place\u00adments too, and we saw that their evo\u00adlu\u00adtion is deeply affect\u00aded by Neptune\u2019s orbit as well.<\/p>\n

An inter\u00adest\u00ading side note to all of this is the fact that the founders believed (and desired) that the USA<\/span> would not have par\u00adty or par\u00adti\u00adsan pol\u00adi\u00adtics at all. But as we can cer\u00adtain\u00adly see in our his\u00adto\u00adry, and most cer\u00adtain\u00adly in our present-day divi\u00adsions, oh my good\u00adness, were they mistaken!!<\/p>\n

The ear\u00adly par\u00adty devel\u00adop\u00adments in the USA<\/span> were shaped by a divide and dis\u00adagree\u00adments over the bal\u00adance between a stronger or weak\u00ader Fed\u00ader\u00adal gov\u00adern\u00adment, framed as Fed\u00ader\u00adal\u00adism ver\u00adsus State Rights, and this theme has cer\u00adtain\u00adly been dif\u00adfer\u00aden\u00adtial\u00adly expe\u00adri\u00adenced in some form as a con\u00adstant dynam\u00adic through\u00adout the par\u00adty sys\u00adtems in the USA<\/span>. Let\u2019s begin after the ini\u00adtial par\u00adty sys\u00adtem and with the sec\u00adond par\u00adty order of the 1820\u2019s.<\/p>\n

1820\u2019s to 1850\u2019s, Sec\u00adond Par\u00adty System<\/strong>
\nBy the 1820\u2019s and last\u00ading into the 1850\u2019s the pri\u00adma\u00adry par\u00adty divi\u00adsion was in the USA<\/span> was between the ear\u00adly Demo\u00adc\u00adra\u00adt\u00adic par\u00adty and the Whig Par\u00adty. The Democ\u00adrats stood for indi\u00advid\u00adual rights and state rights and the pri\u00adma\u00adcy of the Pres\u00adi\u00adden\u00adcy (exec\u00adu\u00adtive branch) over the oth\u00ader branch\u00ades of gov\u00adern\u00adment and were against the bank\u00ading indus\u00adtry and specif\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly opposed to a cen\u00adtral bank US<\/span> bank, high tar\u00adiffs, and also opposed to pro\u00adgrams that favored indus\u00adtry at the expense of farm\u00aders. They were the par\u00adty of the so-called com\u00admon man.<\/p>\n

The Whigs stood for the suprema\u00adcy of Con\u00adgress over the Exec\u00adu\u00adtive branch, and they sup\u00adport\u00aded poli\u00adcies of mod\u00adern\u00adiza\u00adtion and eco\u00adnom\u00adic pro\u00adtec\u00adtion\u00adism for devel\u00adop\u00ading Amer\u00adi\u00adcan indus\u00adtries by tar\u00adiffs and oth\u00ader mea\u00adsures. They were the par\u00adty of indus\u00adtry, busi\u00adness and banking.<\/p>\n

Over time the grow\u00ading dis\u00adpar\u00adi\u00adty of an indus\u00adtri\u00adal\u00adiz\u00ading North cen\u00adtered upon \u201cFree Labor\u201d, and the slave-hold\u00ading econ\u00ado\u00admy con\u00adtrolled by large plan\u00adta\u00adtion own\u00aders in the South became more and more dif\u00adfi\u00adcult to rec\u00adon\u00adcile. The USA<\/span> was being shaped by two mod\u00adels of cre\u00adat\u00ading val\u00adue, two visions of Amer\u00adi\u00adca and those divi\u00adsions became more and more of an exis\u00adten\u00adtial threat to the nation\u00adal union itself. In fact, the Whig party\u2019s attempt to deal with the issue led to its demise and the rise of a new par\u00adty, the Repub\u00adli\u00adcan Par\u00adty in 1854.<\/p>\n

1854 to 1890, Third Par\u00adty System
\n<\/strong>For our pur\u00adpos\u00ades, what we need to exam\u00adine is what was hap\u00adpen\u00ading at this time with Nep\u00adtune in the USA<\/span> chart? You may remem\u00adber my numer\u00adous obser\u00adva\u00adtions for the past many years of Nep\u00adtune being in the same sign now, from 2011 to 2026, as it was from 1848 to 1862, each peri\u00adod being a time when Nep\u00adtune was, and is now once again in its own sign of Pisces.<\/p>\n

In fact, it was exact\u00adly from 1851 to 1854 that Nep\u00adtune squared the USA<\/span> Uranus, and then squared the USA<\/span> ascen\u00addant. And when did that hap\u00adpen in our own time? The exact same Nep\u00adtune square to Uranus and the ascen\u00addant occurred from 2015 to 2018, and just as the ear\u00adly peri\u00adod brought a new Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem, our peri\u00adod is the begin\u00adning of what some his\u00adto\u00adri\u00adans are now call\u00ading the Sev\u00adenth Par\u00adty System.<\/p>\n

Remem\u00adber, it is one of the pur\u00adpos\u00ades of Nep\u00adtune to dis\u00adsolve the bound\u00adaries between real\u00adi\u00adty forms so that they may com\u00adbine, trans\u00adform and become some\u00adthing else. With the ascen\u00addant rul\u00ading Iden\u00adti\u00adty or Pres\u00adence, and Uranus rul\u00ading Indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adal\u00adi\u00adty and Free\u00addom, the USA<\/span> was expe\u00adri\u00adenc\u00ading a most sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant shift in its very pres\u00adence or iden\u00adti\u00adty, and of its expe\u00adri\u00adence of free\u00addom in the 1850\u2019s. The dream of Free\u00addom, that not some but all men should be free, and that any human could not be some\u00adone else\u2019s prop\u00ader\u00adty, well that was the point of the Civ\u00adil War exactly.<\/p>\n

Now in our time today, some\u00adthing like that, hold\u00ading themes of that ear\u00adli\u00ader peri\u00adod, has been hap\u00adpen\u00ading once more between 2015 and 2018. And just as in the 1800\u2019s, the ves\u00adsels of hold\u00ading the dreams and aspi\u00adra\u00adtions of the peo\u00adple of the USA<\/span>, the polit\u00adi\u00adcal instru\u00adments which wield the pow\u00ader to affirm or deny those dreams were changed then as they are chang\u00ading now. It is like an echo of what came before, but the under\u00adly\u00ading truth is there for all to see.<\/p>\n

Again, the ques\u00adtion the USA<\/span> faces is this: are all humans equal, deserv\u00ading of equal appre\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtion and oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty, or will we break apart into our blood and soil tribes, and see some humans as less than us? Let us come back to our tran\u00adsi\u00adtion lat\u00ader and con\u00adsid\u00ader the oth\u00ader shifts of the polit\u00adi\u00adcal par\u00adty sys\u00adtem first.<\/p>\n

So, begin\u00adning in 1854 and last\u00ading until the next shift in the 1890\u2019s, the Repub\u00adli\u00adcan par\u00adty became and remained the dom\u00adi\u00adnant par\u00adty of the USA<\/span>, and was, as it named itself, \u201cthe Grand Old Par\u00adty\u201d. It was formed as a coali\u00adtion of busi\u00adness\u00admen, shop own\u00aders, skilled crafts\u00admen, clerks, and pro\u00adfes\u00adsion\u00adals, com\u00ading as it did out of the Old Whig par\u00adty and adding to that coali\u00adtion many new\u00adly enfran\u00adchised African Amer\u00adi\u00adcans. It was the vehi\u00adcle for a restate\u00adment of the USA<\/span>, the instru\u00adment for Lincoln\u2019s restora\u00adtion and renew\u00adal of the dream of America.<\/p>\n

The Demo\u00adc\u00adra\u00adt\u00adic Par\u00adty became a minor\u00adi\u00adty and oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion\u00adal par\u00adty. It was a most\u00adly con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive and agrar\u00adi\u00adan coali\u00adtion, with south\u00adern democ\u00adrats estab\u00adlish\u00ading a sys\u00adtem of repres\u00adsion in the Jim Crow south to deny black self-deter\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtion. The Demo\u00adc\u00adra\u00adt\u00adic par\u00adty con\u00adtin\u00adued to be fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal\u00adly a State\u2019s Rights coali\u00adtion but based upon the oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion to enlarge\u00adment of civ\u00adil rights. In addi\u00adtion, west\u00adern farm\u00aders and con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive ele\u00adments in the north\u00adern states helped to broad\u00aden the Democ\u00adrats abil\u00adi\u00adty to at times hold the Sen\u00adate or House.<\/p>\n

But dur\u00ading the 1870\u2019s and 1880\u2019s, the nation was rapid\u00adly becom\u00ading an indus\u00adtri\u00adal pow\u00ader, and dreams and the chal\u00adlenges of the peo\u00adple were chang\u00ading too. In the 1890\u2019s this change in the char\u00adac\u00adter of the USA<\/span> led to a shift in the polit\u00adi\u00adcal orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions and solu\u00adtions to meet the dreams of the nation, and it was this evo\u00adlu\u00adtion of the socio-polit\u00adi\u00adcal order that brought about the Fourth Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem, from 1896 to 1932.<\/p>\n

1896 to 1932, Fourth Par\u00adty System<\/strong>
\nBut where was Nep\u00adtune dur\u00ading this shift from the Third to the Fourth Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem dur\u00ading 1893 to 1896, and what did that sig\u00adni\u00adfy? Nep\u00adtune in this peri\u00adod was mov\u00ading into the 7th<\/sup> house of the USA<\/span> chart and it was mak\u00ading a square to itself too. Inter\u00adest\u00ading\u00adly, we will find the exact same con\u00addi\u00adtion, but reversed, with Nep\u00adtune enter\u00ading the 1st<\/sup> house and squar\u00ading itself was in place dur\u00ading the shift from the Fifth to the Sixth Par\u00adty sys\u00adtem from 1976 to 1980. In both peri\u00adods, with Nep\u00adtune squar\u00ading itself, it was a time for peo\u00adple of the USA<\/span> to ques\u00adtion the nature of their dreams, because their cir\u00adcum\u00adstances had changed.<\/p>\n

What was the shift in the late 1890\u2019s? The GOP<\/span> con\u00adsol\u00adi\u00addat\u00aded its hold over the polit\u00adi\u00adcal sys\u00adtem, effec\u00adtive\u00adly main\u00adtain\u00ading pre\u00adem\u00adi\u00adnence almost with\u00adout inter\u00adrup\u00adtion until FDR<\/span>\u2019s elec\u00adtion in 1932. The social and polit\u00adi\u00adcal issues were dri\u00adven by the con\u00adse\u00adquences of indus\u00adtri\u00adal\u00adiza\u00adtion and finan\u00adcial accu\u00admu\u00adla\u00adtion lead\u00ading to pro\u00adgrams and laws to reform the polit\u00adi\u00adcal and eco\u00adnom\u00adic sys\u00adtems, hence the term for this peri\u00adod, cer\u00adtain\u00adly in the late 1800\u2019s and ear\u00adly 1900\u2019s as \u201cthe pro\u00adgres\u00adsive era\u201d, with reforms of the labor sys\u00adtem, a Fed\u00ader\u00adal Income Tax, the direct elec\u00adtion of sen\u00ada\u00adtors and even\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly suf\u00adfrage for women.<\/p>\n

But with Nep\u00adtune mov\u00ading into the 7th<\/sup> house, which rules inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal rela\u00adtion\u00adships in a Nation\u2019s chart, it also marked the peri\u00adod of the USA<\/span>\u2019s delu\u00adsion that it could and should spread and share its vision of democ\u00adra\u00adcy by impos\u00ading it, by becom\u00ading an expan\u00adsion\u00adary colo\u00adnial pow\u00ader, and it seized the Span\u00adish hold\u00adings in the Span\u00adish Amer\u00adi\u00adca War, includ\u00ading Cuba, Puer\u00adto Rico and the Philip\u00adpines, claim\u00ading to be bring\u00ading \u201cdemoc\u00adra\u00adcy\u201d to these oth\u00ader lands.<\/p>\n

1932 to 1976, Fifth Par\u00adty System<\/strong>
\nThe next major shift in the Polit\u00adi\u00adcal Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem, the Fifth Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem, emerged out of the wreck\u00adage caused by the fail\u00adure of unrestrained\/unregulated cap\u00adi\u00adtal\u00adism in the 1920\u2019s, which brought about the dis\u00adas\u00adter of the Great Depres\u00adsion, and what emerged from this was a fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal reset of the polit\u00adi\u00adcal order and the par\u00adty system.<\/p>\n

This would prove to be one of the major realign\u00adments of the par\u00adty sys\u00adtem, as big as the 1850\u2019s had been, and as we will see, as con\u00adse\u00adquen\u00adtial as our own time too. The Demo\u00adc\u00adra\u00adt\u00adic Par\u00adty became the par\u00adty of so-called \u201cbig gov\u00adern\u00adment\u201d, based on the belief and prac\u00adtice that the gov\u00adern\u00adment of the peo\u00adple should work to bring about change in coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion with the pri\u00advate sec\u00adtor, forg\u00ading an alliance between work\u00aders, cor\u00adpo\u00adra\u00adtions and the gov\u00adern\u00adment in order to restore eco\u00adnom\u00adic growth and to pro\u00admote the gen\u00ader\u00adal wel\u00adfare of the peo\u00adple. The com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adtion of the par\u00adties was trans\u00adformed, with black vot\u00aders mov\u00ading into the Demo\u00adc\u00adra\u00adt\u00adic par\u00adty, and white, south\u00adern and con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive vot\u00aders mov\u00ading into the Repub\u00adli\u00adcan par\u00adty, espe\u00adcial\u00adly after the push for broad\u00ader civ\u00adil rights in the 1950\u2019s and 1960\u2019s. Both par\u00adties had more lib\u00ader\u00adal and more con\u00adser\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive mem\u00adbers, and as a result there were peri\u00adods of agree\u00adment by mod\u00ader\u00adates in each par\u00adty which per\u00admit\u00adted the pas\u00adsage of very sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant laws and changes to the polit\u00adi\u00adcal and eco\u00adnom\u00adic order dur\u00ading this period.<\/p>\n

But as a reac\u00adtion to the eco\u00adnom\u00adic malaise brought on by the unfund\u00aded Viet\u00adnam War, and the tur\u00admoil and social changes that fol\u00adlowed upon civ\u00adil rights and women\u2019s move\u00adments, the par\u00adties became more and more polar\u00adized over the vision for the future of the USA<\/span>.<\/p>\n

But again, what we need to know is what was Nep\u00adtune doing to inau\u00adgu\u00adrate this Firth Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem in the 1930\u2019s, and then see what sig\u00adnaled its end. Nep\u00adtune in the 1930\u2019s was halfway between where it was in the 1850\u2019s to where it would return in 2015 to 2017, it was in the sign of Vir\u00adgo (not Pisces) but squar\u00ading Uranus and squar\u00ading the ascen\u00addant once again. Yes, it seems to me from these three exam\u00adples, the 1850\u2019s, the 1930\u2019s and the present day, that the larg\u00ader, more con\u00adse\u00adquen\u00adtial shifts of the polit\u00adi\u00adcal order and of the par\u00adty sys\u00adtem seem tied to or influ\u00adenced by Nep\u00adtune in this align\u00adment with the USA<\/span> chart, when Nep\u00adtune is either in Vir\u00adgo or Pisces, and squar\u00ading the plan\u00adet Uranus in the 7th<\/sup> house. Why might this be so?<\/p>\n

I would argue that the prin\u00adci\u00adpal rea\u00adson could be from Nep\u00adtune form\u00ading this square to Uranus. Why would that mat\u00adter? Well, for one, Uranus is the ruler of the USA<\/span> Moon in Aquar\u00adius, and the Moon in a nation\u2019s chart rules \u201cthe peo\u00adple,\u201d the ordi\u00adnary cit\u00adi\u00adzens who make up what we call the com\u00admon peo\u00adple. And with Nep\u00adtune bring\u00ading its dis\u00adsolv\u00ading, trans\u00adform\u00ading, illu\u00admi\u00adnat\u00ading and delu\u00adsion\u00adal influ\u00adence to bear on the very plan\u00adet of Indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adal\u00adi\u00adty and Free\u00addom, well it would cer\u00adtain\u00adly cre\u00adate a time when those notions and real\u00adi\u00adties of what it means to be free, what it means to be an indi\u00advid\u00adual in the USA<\/span> cultural\/political order would be trans\u00adformed and made into some\u00adthing else dur\u00ading each such pas\u00adsage of Nep\u00adtune to Uranus.<\/p>\n

But even more for the USA<\/span>, the plan\u00adet Uranus is in the 7th<\/sup> house, the house of rela\u00adtion\u00adships or the realm which prin\u00adci\u00adpal\u00adly rules the rela\u00adtion\u00adships that the USA<\/span> has with the rest of the world. But the 7th<\/sup> house is also an indi\u00adca\u00adtor of the \u201cpeo\u00adple as a whole\u201d, or the social con\u00adscious\u00adness of the peo\u00adple. With Uranus here, one of the abid\u00ading fac\u00adtors shap\u00ading the social con\u00adscious\u00adness for the USA<\/span> is our myth and expe\u00adri\u00adence of indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adal\u00adi\u00adty and free\u00addom. So, when we have the plan\u00adet of \u201cCom\u00admu\u00adnal\u00adi\u00adty\u201d or the sim\u00adple truth that we are all made and held by our com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adties, and fol\u00adlow\u00ading from that is the neces\u00adsi\u00adty to sac\u00adri\u00adfice some of our inde\u00adpen\u00addence and free\u00addom to one anoth\u00ader, well that would mean when Nep\u00adtune is squar\u00ading the plan\u00adet of Indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adal\u00adi\u00adty and Inde\u00adpen\u00addence, that this can lead to some won\u00adder\u00adful dis\u00adcov\u00ader\u00adies and epipha\u00adnies about these two truths, about Indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adal\u00adi\u00adty and Com\u00admu\u00adnal\u00adi\u00adty, of how they tru\u00adly are inte\u00adgral to one anoth\u00ader, and can only exist in a bal\u00adanced and mutu\u00adal inter\u00adde\u00adpen\u00addence upon one anoth\u00ader.  But we have also seen how they can become twist\u00aded or bro\u00adken from one anoth\u00ader so that Neptune\u2019s influ\u00adence may lead to mis\u00adguid\u00aded or delu\u00adsion\u00adal expe\u00adri\u00adences of being sub\u00admerged into a herd iden\u00adti\u00adty, or into the oppo\u00adsite extreme of the so-called \u201clone wolf\u201d or excep\u00adtion\u00adal indi\u00advid\u00adual claim\u00ading to be above the ordi\u00adnary, and above the law, the very law we agreed to shape and guide our lives, and so pro\u00adtect the indi\u00advid\u00adual and the com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty too.<\/p>\n

1980 to 2016, Sixth Par\u00adty System
\n<\/strong>The end of the New Deal Fifth Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem order and the move\u00adment into an increas\u00ading\u00adly more acri\u00admo\u00adnious and polar\u00adized form of pol\u00adi\u00adtics was firm\u00adly real\u00adized by 1980. Where was Nep\u00adtune then? Not sur\u00adpris\u00ading\u00adly, it was exact\u00adly posi\u00adtioned oppo\u00adsite to where it had been in the late 1890\u2019s, in the USA<\/span> 1st<\/sup> house instead of the 7th<\/sup> house, and once again squar\u00ading its own posi\u00adtion in the USA<\/span> chart.<\/p>\n

What had hap\u00adpened in the USA<\/span> that brought about this shift in the par\u00adty sys\u00adtem? Through\u00adout the USA<\/span> a large nation\u00adwide major\u00adi\u00adty of rur\u00adal and work\u00ading-class whites became the base of the Repub\u00adli\u00adcan Par\u00adty, while the Demo\u00adc\u00adra\u00adt\u00adic Par\u00adty was increas\u00ading\u00adly made up of a coali\u00adtion of black Amer\u00adi\u00adcans, Lati\u00adnos, and most\u00adly white urban pro\u00adgres\u00adsives. Where pre\u00advi\u00adous\u00adly, the col\u00adlege-edu\u00adcat\u00aded vot\u00aders had been drawn to the Repub\u00adli\u00adcan par\u00adty, hav\u00ading a high\u00ader edu\u00adca\u00adtion\u00adal attain\u00adment was increas\u00ading\u00adly a defin\u00ading fea\u00adture of Demo\u00adc\u00adra\u00adt\u00adic sup\u00adport. These shifts, tak\u00aden togeth\u00ader formed the Sixth Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem that began with Regan\u2019s Pres\u00adi\u00adden\u00adcy of the 1980\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Astro\u00adlog\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly, with Nep\u00adtune in the 1st<\/sup> house, the dissolving\/transforming effects were to be seen in the very \u201cPres\u00adence\u201d of the USA<\/span>, of how it would see itself and project itself into the world. The dream of Amer\u00adi\u00adca and the nation\u00adal myth of Amer\u00adi\u00adca, like Reagan\u2019s theme of \u201cMorn\u00ading in Amer\u00adi\u00adca\u201d, became the basis for a resur\u00adgence of a par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar mus\u00adcu\u00adlar and inter\u00adven\u00adtion\u00adist role the world. Domes\u00adti\u00adcal\u00adly, the Repub\u00adli\u00adcan gospel, now firm\u00adly steeped in the rise of the neo-lib\u00ader\u00adal agen\u00adda, began a many decades long project to dis\u00adable and dis\u00adman\u00adtle the pro\u00adgrams and insti\u00adtu\u00adtions of the New Deal order, to attempt to return the USA<\/span> to the ear\u00adly 1900\u2019s, of mak\u00ading the busi\u00adness of Amer\u00adi\u00adca to be just about mak\u00ading more mon\u00adey, as in \u201cGreed is Good\u201d, which required the con\u00adstant chip\u00adping away or removal of reg\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtions that had forged bal\u00adance growth, and had pro\u00adduced the tremen\u00addous rise of the gen\u00ader\u00adal wel\u00adfare of the peo\u00adple from the late 1930\u2019s until the 1970\u2019s.<\/p>\n

But dur\u00ading this peri\u00adod the focus of the Repub\u00adli\u00adcan par\u00adty shift\u00aded, and there was ever more empha\u00adsis on cul\u00adtur\u00adal con\u00adser\u00advatism, with oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion to abor\u00adtion, and gay mar\u00adriage and trans\u00adgen\u00adder rights. Instead of being for free trade the par\u00adty became more and more opposed to eco\u00adnom\u00adic glob\u00adal\u00adiza\u00adtion and also to immi\u00adgra\u00adtion from non-Euro\u00adpean coun\u00adtries. Dis\u00adagree\u00adments over posi\u00adtions and poli\u00adcies with the Demo\u00adc\u00adra\u00adt\u00adic par\u00adty became more and more polar\u00adized, and the need to pre\u00adserve or cre\u00adate real pro\u00adgrams and solu\u00adtions to the prob\u00adlems of the peo\u00adple were stymied and denied.<\/p>\n

But the removal of the eco\u00adnom\u00adic and finan\u00adcial safe\u00adguards put into place after the Great Depres\u00adsion of the 1930\u2019s inevitably led to the con\u00adspic\u00adu\u00adous decou\u00adpling of eco\u00adnom\u00adic real\u00adi\u00adty and finan\u00adcial con\u00adduct, and so in 2008, the USA<\/span> plunged itself, and the rest of the world, into what we real\u00adly should call the Sec\u00adond Great Depression.<\/p>\n

The strug\u00adgle to recov\u00ader from that self-made dis\u00adas\u00adter shat\u00adtered what\u00adev\u00ader had remained of the coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtive neces\u00adsi\u00adty incum\u00adbent on both par\u00adties, both Demo\u00adc\u00adra\u00adt\u00adic and Repub\u00adli\u00adcan, and with\u00adout good faith in one anoth\u00ader and with their vot\u00ading mem\u00adbers, the belief in the pos\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty of the USA<\/span> gov\u00adern\u00adment work\u00ading con\u00adsis\u00adtent\u00adly and togeth\u00ader for the com\u00admon good became more and more a fan\u00adta\u00adsy. Pol\u00adi\u00adtics became a cold war, then a hot\u00adter war, with char\u00adac\u00adter assas\u00adsi\u00adna\u00adtions and gotchas, and moral cow\u00adardice wrapped in the man\u00adtle of moral con\u00advic\u00adtion defin\u00ading the polit\u00adi\u00adcal and even cul\u00adtur\u00adal order.<\/p>\n

The loss of faith in one anoth\u00ader, and in the insti\u00adtu\u00adtions of the Amer\u00adi\u00adcan life, the rad\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly dif\u00adfer\u00adent beliefs about what the USA<\/span> stood for cer\u00adtain\u00adly seemed to echo a sim\u00adi\u00adlar time in the USA<\/span> when two very dif\u00adfer\u00adent Ideals of human\u00adi\u00adty faced off before. Just as in the 1850\u2019s, and now again in 2015 to 2017, Nep\u00adtune was once again form\u00ading a square to the USA<\/span> ascen\u00addant, while also squar\u00ading Uranus in the 7th<\/sup> house.<\/p>\n

Back in the 1850\u2019s, the Repub\u00adli\u00adcan Par\u00adty was the vehi\u00adcle for the elim\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtion of the insti\u00adtu\u00adtion of slav\u00adery, and that noble cause became their sig\u00adna\u00adture achieve\u00adment. But now in the 2000 teens, we are wit\u00adness\u00ading a very dif\u00adfer\u00adent Repub\u00adli\u00adcan Par\u00adty indeed.<\/p>\n

2016 to when, \u201cSev\u00adenth Par\u00adty System\u201d
\n<\/strong>We are today in a more sur\u00adre\u00adal con\u00addi\u00adtion per\u00adhaps than any oth\u00ader time in our his\u00adto\u00adry. His\u00adto\u00adri\u00adans do not yet agree if there is indeed a Sev\u00adenth Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem in place. Prin\u00adci\u00adpal\u00adly that is because what we have in the Repub\u00adli\u00adcan Par\u00adty is not like any\u00adthing we might rec\u00adog\u00adnize as a par\u00adty at all. As I stat\u00aded ear\u00adli\u00ader, the ques\u00adtion the USA<\/span> faces today is again the same as in the 1850\u2019s, which is are all humans equal, deserv\u00ading of equal appre\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtion and oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty, or will we break apart as we have been doing for some time now, into trib\u00adal group\u00adings based on creed or race or per\u00adson\u00adal\u00adi\u00adties, where we look not to the law but to some strong leader to defend us against whomev\u00ader is \u201cthe oth\u00ader\u201d, and to see some humans as less than us?<\/p>\n

No par\u00adty has ever been nor will ever be per\u00adfect, for we are all, indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adal\u00adly and col\u00adlec\u00adtive\u00adly, \u201cworks in progress\u201d. But nev\u00ader in our his\u00adto\u00adry has a par\u00adty turned away from the \u201crule of law\u201d, threat\u00aden\u00ading to use the law to favor some and per\u00adse\u00adcute others.<\/p>\n

I per\u00adson\u00adal\u00adly do not think we have begun a Sev\u00adenth Par\u00adty Sys\u00adtem, and that we are in this strange, one would say very Nep\u00adtun\u00adian and tran\u00adsi\u00adtion\u00adal space where the future hangs in the bal\u00adance. One par\u00adty has aban\u00addoned the very sub\u00adstance of what it means to be a par\u00adty, which is to have a plat\u00adform, to have posi\u00adtions, and poli\u00adcies and plans that will meet the hopes and dreams of the Amer\u00adi\u00adcan peo\u00adple as a whole.<\/p>\n

Instead, there is an orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion where mem\u00adber\u00adship means that one must bend the knee to the will of one man and his needs, to assuage his fears and per\u00adse\u00adcute his so-called ene\u00admies, a non-demo\u00adc\u00adra\u00adt\u00adic author\u00adi\u00adtar\u00adi\u00adan vehi\u00adcle for end\u00ading the rule of law and sub\u00adsti\u00adtut\u00ading the will and whim of their leader.<\/p>\n

I do not believe that it is mere\u00adly a sim\u00adple major\u00adi\u00adty, but rather a vast major\u00adi\u00adty of the peo\u00adple of the USA<\/span> do not want to live under this form of mis\u00adrule. The plan\u00adets can\u00adnot tell us what we are to do, nor can they force us to choose. What they can do, and what we must do, is to look at our\u00adselves and our com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adties, and our gov\u00adern\u00adment and ask our\u00adselves, what is the dream for the USA<\/span> now, and how might we be able to get there together.<\/p>\n

The ques\u00adtion before us now is this, will we remain a peo\u00adple who bow to no king or strong\u00adman but con\u00adtin\u00adue to pre\u00adserve and live under this gift of self-gov\u00adern\u00adment, to the rule of law that pro\u00adtects us from tyran\u00adny, and to live in a repub\u00adlic that was made by the love and sac\u00adri\u00adfice of those who came before us.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
