I thought it would be help\u00adful as 2020 winds down, to con\u00adsid\u00ader the major Astro\u00adlog\u00adi\u00adcal themes of this year and what lies ahead for 2021. There are always two major influ\u00adences to con\u00adsid\u00ader in Mun\u00addane or World\u00adly Astrol\u00ado\u00adgy, the gen\u00ader\u00adal effects that hold for one and all on Earth which are indi\u00adcat\u00aded by the plan\u00ade\u00adtary align\u00adments with one anoth\u00ader in the heav\u00adens, what we call tran\u00adsits to tran\u00adsits. And sec\u00adond\u00adly, we con\u00adsid\u00ader the plan\u00ade\u00adtary tran\u00adsits to the plan\u00adets of a Natal chart that is of interest.<\/p>\n

Tran\u00adsit to Tran\u00adsit 2020, Jupiter Con\u00adjunct Pluto<\/strong>
\nThe most con\u00adse\u00adquen\u00adtial Tran\u00adsit to Tran\u00adsit for 2020 was the align\u00adment (Con\u00adjunc\u00adtion) of Jupiter with Plu\u00adto in Capri\u00adcorn. Rough\u00adly every 12 years or so, Jupiter will \u201ccatch up\u201d to the posi\u00adtion of Plu\u00adto and form what is like a New Moon in their cycle of rela\u00adtion\u00adship. Jupiter holds the mean\u00adings and truths for us and indi\u00adcates the poten\u00adtial for growth and expan\u00adsion. Plu\u00adto, being the plan\u00adet of Will and Sacred Space, holds for me as the Avatar of the fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal dri\u00adving force for Cre\u00adation, Alche\u00admy. Alche\u00admy is the pow\u00ader of com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adtions, whether atoms with atoms, mol\u00ade\u00adcules with mol\u00ade\u00adcules, organ\u00adisms with organ\u00adisms, stars with stars. It is from these com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adtions, trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion, deaths, and rebirths, of evo\u00adlu\u00adtions and muta\u00adtions, it is by this that the whole of Cre\u00adation and every\u00adthing and every\u00adone in it becomes the many who form the One. At the high\u00adest, I con\u00adsid\u00ader Plu\u00adto to be the Avatar of the Will of God.<\/p>\n

The meet\u00ading of Jupiter with Plu\u00adto indi\u00adcat\u00aded that this year would sig\u00adnal an end\u00ading (and a begin\u00adning) for us in the meanings\/truths\/science\/beliefs about how we grow, how we die, and how we are to be reborn. Cer\u00adtain\u00adly, from the most basic con\u00addi\u00adtions of our phys\u00adi\u00adcal lives, of how we live for our\u00adselves and with one anoth\u00ader, 2020 was cer\u00adtain\u00adly a trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion\u00adal year. I think we can all agree that there is no going back to our old lives and ways of liv\u00ading, and we are all try\u00ading to fig\u00adure out what will be our \u201cnew normal\u201d.<\/p>\n

Tran\u00adsit to Tran\u00adsit 2021, Sat\u00adurn Square Uranus<\/strong>
\nFor 2021, the most sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant tran\u00adsit to tran\u00adsit aspect will be Sat\u00adurn Squar\u00ading Uranus. Their cycle of rela\u00adtion\u00adship, from Con\u00adjunc\u00adtion to Con\u00adjunc\u00adtion is 45 years, and in 2021 we are at their Wan\u00ading Square. There are four crit\u00adi\u00adcal moments in any plan\u00ade\u00adtary cycle pair\u00ading: Con\u00adjunc\u00adtion, Wax\u00ading Square, Oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion, and Wan\u00ading Square and then back to their next Conjunction.<\/p>\n

The cur\u00adrent cycle of Saturn\/Uranus began in 1988; they reached their wax\u00ading square in 1999\u20132000, and their oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion in 2008 to 2010, and now for 2021 their wan\u00ading square. It is quite strik\u00ading to me, that their pre\u00advi\u00adous wan\u00ading squares, (as well as oth\u00ader crit\u00adi\u00adcal cycle turn\u00adings), came dur\u00ading crit\u00adi\u00adcal shifts for the world and the USA<\/span>. Those pre\u00advi\u00adous moments like our own moment of the wan\u00ading square were 1975\u201377 and 1930\u201331. Also, of note are the pre\u00advi\u00adous con\u00adjunc\u00adtions or seed-moments which were, in addi\u00adtion to ours of 1988, those of 1942 and 1897. We would want to pay spe\u00adcial atten\u00adtion to their peri\u00adods of cli\u00admax or rev\u00ade\u00adla\u00adtion (by oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion) which were in 1918\u201320, 1965\u201367, and for our peri\u00adod 2008-10. What we need to under\u00adstand or ask our\u00adselves is this, \u201cwhat is the mes\u00adsage or mean\u00ading of their cycle of rela\u00adtion\u00adship, and what does this mean for us in 2021?\u201d<\/p>\n

Sat\u00adurn and Uranus<\/strong>
\nSat\u00adurn is the Avatar of Real\u00adi\u00adty, of Insti\u00adtu\u00adtions and Tra\u00addi\u00adtions; it rules the sta\u00adtus quo, the \u201ctried and true\u201d, what has been relied upon and proven to be nec\u00ades\u00adsary or use\u00adful. Uranus is the Avatar of Inven\u00adtion, it rules New Ideas and Inde\u00adpen\u00addence; it works by stim\u00adu\u00adlat\u00ading Orig\u00adi\u00adnal\u00adi\u00adty and Con\u00adtrari\u00adness, by chal\u00adleng\u00ading the old with some new con\u00adcep\u00adtu\u00adal frame\u00adwork, idea, or tech\u00adnique. In a way, their cycle of rela\u00adtion\u00adship can be under\u00adstood as the dynam\u00adic inter\u00adplay of Order and Free\u00addom, of Tra\u00addi\u00adtion ver\u00adsus Inno\u00adva\u00adtion, and when pushed to extremes, of being Reac\u00adtionary ver\u00adsus Rev\u00ado\u00adlu\u00adtion\u00adary. They are and should be under\u00adstood like most plan\u00ade\u00adtary pairs as nec\u00ades\u00adsary to one anoth\u00ader, for they each hold an aspect of truth that only becomes pos\u00adsi\u00adble and ful\u00adfilled by com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adtion with the other.<\/p>\n

From Saturn\u2019s \u201cpoint of view\u201d, what has worked is what one should hold to, it has proven to be the best or the only way to func\u00adtion in the real world. The coun\u00adter\u00adpoint would be, just because it has worked, that does not mean it will con\u00adtin\u00adue to work, or that it could not be improved. Uranus would add, and you must remem\u00adber this, what\u00adev\u00ader old tech\u00adnique, prac\u00adtice or tra\u00addi\u00adtion you fol\u00adlow, at some point it was an inno\u00adva\u00adtion, it was a dis\u00adcov\u00adery or real\u00adiza\u00adtion that became after\u00adwards a part of the tradition.<\/p>\n

But equal\u00adly, for Uranus\u2019 part, just because you have found some new inno\u00adv\u00ada\u00adtive way of being, or way of accom\u00adplish\u00ading some task or meet\u00ading your needs, that does not mean it is bet\u00adter than the old way. Many times, we will attempt a new approach or tech\u00adnique and lat\u00ader find the wis\u00addom of the old way is, well, sim\u00adply better.
\nWhat we must do, what we are doing con\u00adstant\u00adly, is to hold the old and the new togeth\u00ader, the tra\u00addi\u00adtion with the inno\u00adva\u00adtion, to inte\u00adgrate Sat\u00adurn and Uranus; we must see the wis\u00addom of hold\u00ading and work\u00ading them togeth\u00ader always. What hap\u00adpens at these crit\u00adi\u00adcal moments in their cycle is that this cre\u00adative ten\u00adsion between the old way and the new way reach\u00ades a turn\u00ading point for us.<\/p>\n

2021, The Wan\u00ading Square<\/strong>
\n2021 should hold some of the same core mean\u00adings as the pre\u00advi\u00adous wan\u00ading squares, which were 1975\u201377 and 1930\u201331. But we need to under\u00adstand the dif\u00adfer\u00adence between wax\u00ading and wan\u00ading squares. Dur\u00ading the wax\u00ading square, which in our cycle was 1999\u20132000, we are in a time where we make a defin\u00adi\u00adtive, con\u00adcrete choice between one way or anoth\u00ader, we are faced with the chal\u00adlenge to cleave to one way and cut away the oth\u00ader, and by this we build upon the new begin\u00adning (which was in 1988 for this cycle). Now at the wan\u00ading square, we are being asked to \u201clet go and grow\u201d, to real\u00adize that giv\u00aden the result of 2008\u20132010 when we were at the oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion, we must now see the whole cycle from the seed of 1988, to the square 1999\u201320 to that cli\u00admax or out\u00adcome in 2008-10 and face the truth now about what we have learned.<\/p>\n

What is pos\u00adsi\u00adble (but by no means guar\u00adan\u00adteed) is that at the wan\u00ading square we need to find a way to tran\u00adscend the old polar\u00adi\u00adties, to let go of the old fram\u00ading of the chal\u00adlenges we face and the solu\u00adtions we wield. Cer\u00adtain\u00adly, if we look to a pre\u00advi\u00adous wan\u00ading square of 1930\u201331, we can see that the cri\u00adsis of the Great Depres\u00adsion led to the attempts to fix a bro\u00adken eco\u00adnom\u00adic order by mas\u00adsive gov\u00adern\u00adment inter\u00adven\u00adtion and guid\u00adance, it seemed we rose to the challenge.<\/p>\n

But In 1975\u201377 at the next wan\u00ading square, when we were faced with the after\u00adef\u00adfects of the Viet\u00adnam War, and the unfund\u00aded man\u00addates of the Great Soci\u00adety, the result\u00ading stag\u00adna\u00adtion of growth and infla\u00adtion of prices, (called at the time Stagfla\u00adtion), com\u00adbined with the scan\u00addals of Water\u00adgate, well it would seem as if we did not rise to the chal\u00adlenge as well then. Yes, there were some major reforms imple\u00adment\u00aded with regards to cam\u00adpaign financ\u00ading and gov\u00adern\u00adment account\u00adabil\u00adi\u00adty. But the eco\u00adnom\u00adic reforms need\u00aded to cor\u00adrect the grow\u00ading imbal\u00adances from the 1960\u2019s and ear\u00adly 1970\u2019s were not imple\u00adment\u00aded. I would argue that the cri\u00adsis of the 30\u2019s was bet\u00adter met than the cri\u00adsis of the 70\u2019s.<\/p>\n

We should expect our chal\u00adlenge and cri\u00adsis, for all squares present as some form of cri\u00adsis, to be a moment of dan\u00adger but equal\u00adly of oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty. The dan\u00adger usu\u00adal\u00adly comes from fail\u00ading to rise to the chal\u00adlenge that we face, and to hold to fear and retreat into the old ways and prac\u00adtices. If we instead see this as an oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty, and that by refram\u00ading our ques\u00adtions we may find bet\u00adter solu\u00adtions. Then we can rise above our cul\u00adtur\u00adal, polit\u00adi\u00adcal, and eco\u00adnom\u00adic divi\u00adsions and find our turn\u00ading point to be more like the New Deal of the 1930\u2019s and 1940\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Tran\u00adsit to USA<\/span> 2020, Plu\u00adto Oppo\u00adsite Mercury<\/strong>
\nThe major tran\u00adsit in the chart of the USA<\/span> for 2020 was Plu\u00adto oppo\u00adsite Mer\u00adcury, and I have writ\u00adten and spo\u00adken exten\u00adsive\u00adly about this. Here is some of what I said and wrote about this year:<\/p>\n

The USA<\/span> Plu\u00adto is oppo\u00adsite to Mer\u00adcury, and Mer\u00adcury rules a nation\u2019s means of com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adca\u00adtion, like a being\u2019s ner\u00advous sys\u00adtem. It rules the thought-form pat\u00adterns and the devel\u00adop\u00adment (or lack) of intel\u00adli\u00adgence. Each time Plu\u00adto has aligned with Mer\u00adcury and then with itself in his\u00adto\u00adry, the USA<\/span> has con\u00adfront\u00aded the nature of how we val\u00adue one anoth\u00ader. The pre\u00advi\u00adous times in the late 1840s and into the 1850s wit\u00adnessed the strug\u00adgle over new states being allowed to enter as slave or free states; the 1930s with FDR<\/span> and \u201cThe New Deal\u201d in the attempt to pro\u00advide some greater sup\u00adport to the gen\u00ader\u00adal wel\u00adfare after the Great Depres\u00adsion; and the 1980s and the Rea\u00adgan rev\u00ado\u00adlu\u00adtion, which in the suc\u00adceed\u00ading 40 years since then, has led to the most unequal dis\u00adtri\u00adb\u00adu\u00adtion of wealth in the USA<\/span> since the 1920s, a fac\u00adtor which had led to the Great Depression.<\/em><\/p>\n

Now we are here in 2020, with Plu\u00adto oppo\u00adsite Mer\u00adcury and Plu\u00adto return\u00ading to its Natal posi\u00adtion too. The plan\u00adets do not deter\u00admine what will hap\u00adpen. We are the cre\u00adators and instru\u00adments of Action and Will, and the con\u00adtent of what we made and the pain and joy we face is formed by us not the plan\u00adets. They time the unfold\u00adment of pat\u00adterns, they guide our steps with mean\u00adings and under\u00adly\u00ading causal\u00adi\u00adty, but we choose well or poorly.<\/em><\/p>\n

The choic\u00ades made in the 1980s and beyond, with\u00adin the eco\u00adnom\u00adic struc\u00adtures them\u00adselves and with\u00adin the legal and tax struc\u00adtures of gov\u00adern\u00adment, led to the great divide we face between one anoth\u00ader now. For exam\u00adple, from 1980 to 2020 the gross domes\u00adtic prod\u00aduct of the USA<\/span> rose by 80% in 40 years, it almost dou\u00adbled. But the way that growth was dis\u00adtrib\u00aduted was far less equal than the pre\u00advi\u00adous peri\u00adod from 1940 to 1980. In the last 40 years, the bot\u00adtom 20% of the USA<\/span> pop\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtion gain 20% more wealth; the mid\u00addle 40% gain 50% more wealth; but the top .01% gained 420% more in their wealth.<\/em><\/p>\n

In terms of wealth dis\u00adtri\u00adb\u00adu\u00adtion, the USA<\/span> is one of the worst of all the so-called \u201cadvanced soci\u00adeties\u201d and this inequal\u00adi\u00adty is even greater when dis\u00adtrib\u00aduted and defined by race and eth\u00adnic\u00adi\u00adty. This is the prin\u00adci\u00adple rea\u00adson why the USA<\/span> has appalling life expectan\u00adcies and health out\u00adcomes com\u00adpared to much of the world.<\/em><\/p>\n

Once again, here in 2020, we are being asked to look at how we treat the val\u00adue of our nation, of how we care for the true wealth of the land, which is our peo\u00adple.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Now of course all that remains true to this day (and for all our days to come), but what you want to know is what is ahead for 2021.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tran\u00adsit to USA<\/span> 2021, Nep\u00adtune Oppo\u00adsite Nep\u00adtune, Nep\u00adtune Square Mars
\n<\/strong>In some way, what is com\u00ading into focus in 2021 in the USA<\/span> chart has been build\u00ading up ever since Nep\u00adtune entered its own sign of Pisces in 2010. One of the most dis\u00adtinc\u00adtive fea\u00adtures in the chart of the USA<\/span> is Nep\u00adtune placed high in the 9th<\/sup> house with the plan\u00adet Mars 90 degrees away, squar\u00ading it from the 7th<\/sup> house. What does this indicate?<\/p>\n

The plan\u00adet Nep\u00adtune rules the dreams and visions of an enti\u00adty; Mars rules its desires and actions. The USA<\/span> car\u00adries an ener\u00adgy-form that is char\u00adac\u00adter\u00adized by hold\u00ading to a belief or faith (Nep\u00adtune) that it is on a spe\u00adcial mis\u00adsion, formed into a dream of a more per\u00adfect order (Nep\u00adtune in Vir\u00adgo), that is guid\u00aded by high\u00ader truths (Nep\u00adtune in the 9th<\/sup> house). This influ\u00adence shapes the USA<\/span>\u2019s desires\/actions (Mars) as being guid\u00aded by this vision, that what is \u201cright action\u201d for Amer\u00adi\u00adca is right Universally.<\/p>\n

Unfor\u00adtu\u00adnate\u00adly, this belief in our excep\u00adtion\u00adal nature has led us to impose our truths (or half-truths) around the world, with the most recent dis\u00adas\u00adtrous results revealed in the dis\u00adas\u00adtrous inter\u00adven\u00adtions in Iraq, Afghanistan, and oth\u00ader nations by our \u201cwar against ter\u00adror\u201d. We can and should lead by exam\u00adple, but we lose and destroy our very mes\u00adsage, of \u201cfree self-deter\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtion\u201d as a fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal prin\u00adci\u00adple, when we seek to impose it by force of arms. This is a les\u00adson we still face and have yet to mas\u00adter. The USA<\/span> must learn to lead with deep\u00ader wis\u00addom and greater humility.<\/p>\n

In 2021, Nep\u00adtune is align\u00ading with our Nep\u00adtune and Mars once again. If we look at the his\u00adtor\u00adi\u00adcal record of pre\u00advi\u00adous align\u00adments, we can gain some insight into our own moment now.<\/p>\n

Neptune\u2019s Turn\u00ading Points<\/strong>
\nNeptune\u2019s orbit is about 163 years, and it will align with the USA<\/span> Nep\u00adtune and Mars every 40 years or so. The dates are: 1816\u201317, 1857\u201358, 1897\u201398, 1938\u201339, 1980\u201381, and now 2021\u201322. What we need to con\u00adsid\u00ader is the type of aspect being formed by Nep\u00adtune to Nep\u00adtune, and Nep\u00adtune to Mars. The most sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant align\u00adments would be the oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion of Nep\u00adtune to itself, and its return to its natal posi\u00adtion. The first and only return to its natal posi\u00adtion was 1938\u201339; and the two oppo\u00adsi\u00adtions in USA<\/span> his\u00adto\u00adry were 1857\u201358 and the upcom\u00ading oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion of 2021\u201322.<\/p>\n

Astrologers con\u00adsid\u00ader any plan\u00ade\u00adtary return like a \u201cNew Moon\u201d, a seed\u00ading of a new vari\u00ada\u00adtion of the ener\u00adgy-form that Nep\u00adtune holds in this case. That would mean that a new seed was plant\u00aded dur\u00ading the pres\u00adi\u00adden\u00adcy of FDR<\/span>, with his efforts to restore the USA<\/span> econ\u00ado\u00admy after the Great Depres\u00adsion, while he equal\u00adly led the USA<\/span> to pre\u00adpare for the exis\u00adten\u00adtial con\u00adfronta\u00adtion with the rise of Fas\u00adcism in Europe and Asia in World War II<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion of 1857\u20131858<\/strong>
\nThe oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion should be under\u00adstood as the rev\u00ade\u00adla\u00adtion and out\u00adcome of that vari\u00ada\u00adtion of expres\u00adsion from the first or natal imprint\u00ading and then any suc\u00adceed\u00ading returns. The seed plant\u00aded in 1776 of Neptune\u2019s \u201cDream of Amer\u00adi\u00adca\u201d became ful\u00adly revealed in the first oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion (like a Full Moon) of 1857\u201358. I have writ\u00adten and spo\u00adken about this his\u00adtoric peri\u00adod sev\u00ader\u00adal times, with ref\u00ader\u00adence to this Nep\u00adtune align\u00adment in the USA<\/span> chart.<\/p>\n

From Neptune\u2019s embod\u00adi\u00adment of the dream of Amer\u00adi\u00adca in 1776, \u201cThat all men are cre\u00adat\u00aded equal\u2026\u201d, a polit\u00adi\u00adcal-eco\u00adnom\u00adic order was estab\u00adlished by a very small num\u00adber of white, prop\u00ader\u00adty-own\u00ading men. For many of those men, they had secured their wealth through own\u00ading oth\u00ader humans as prop\u00ader\u00adty. This polit\u00adi\u00adcal-eco\u00adnom\u00adic order evolved into two ways of life, divid\u00ading into two very dif\u00adfer\u00adent soci\u00adeties and cul\u00adtures which came to a cli\u00admat\u00adic con\u00adfronta\u00adtion dur\u00ading the 1850\u2019s over this ques\u00adtion: Would the USA<\/span> become a ful\u00adly \u201cfree labor coun\u00adtry\u201d or a ful\u00adly \u201cslave labor country\u201d?<\/p>\n

1857\u20131858<\/strong>
\nThe years pri\u00ador to 1857\u201358 wit\u00adnessed the grow\u00ading pow\u00ader of the slave\u00adhold\u00ading states in the Con\u00adgress and over the courts. The cli\u00admax of their pow\u00ader was enshrined dur\u00ading 1857 by the Dred Scott deci\u00adsion in the Supreme Court, in which it deter\u00admined that the law of the land would be that, \u201cslaves and descen\u00addants of slaves were nev\u00ader nor would they ever be cit\u00adi\u00adzens, and that they would remain the per\u00adma\u00adnent prop\u00ader\u00adty of their mas\u00adters\u201d. The con\u00adflict was best sum\u00adma\u00adrized in 1858 in the famous Lincoln\/Douglas debates. Lin\u00adcoln spoke of this divi\u00adsion of humans from one anoth\u00ader in the coun\u00adtry, between the slave states and the free states, in which he declared, \u201cthat a house divid\u00aded from itself can\u00adnot stand\u201d. He pro\u00adposed that this divi\u00adsion would be resolved one way or anoth\u00ader, and that the US<\/span> would either become a nation where in every state all humans would be free and equal or in every state there would be slav\u00adery and inequality.<\/p>\n

Nep\u00adtune Return 1938\u20131939, the Dream restated<\/strong>
\nIn 2021 with the oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion of Nep\u00adtune, just like it was in 1857\u201358 when the nation faced the final irrec\u00adon\u00adcil\u00adable divi\u00adsions and con\u00adflicts before the Civ\u00adil War, we are expe\u00adri\u00adenc\u00ading the end result from the restate\u00adment of the Dream of Amer\u00adi\u00adca by FDR<\/span> in the 1930\u2019s. His New Deal was sup\u00adposed to be a Fair Deal for all Amer\u00adi\u00adcans, and equal\u00adly his dec\u00adla\u00adra\u00adtion for all humankind of the Four Free\u00addoms for the world.<\/p>\n

Yes, it was after FDR<\/span> and for many years there\u00adafter, that the gen\u00ader\u00adal growth in the pros\u00adper\u00adi\u00adty of the Unit\u00aded States was more fair\u00adly shared by the entire pop\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtion, from the 1940\u2019s into the 1970\u2019s. It cer\u00adtain\u00adly was not per\u00adfect for all, but there was a gen\u00ader\u00adal feel\u00ading that there was more equi\u00adty, more bal\u00adance and fair\u00adness in how we share in the val\u00adues we cre\u00adate; and, because of this most par\u00adents were sure that their chil\u00addren would have a bet\u00adter life than they had had. The Amer\u00adi\u00adcan Dream of self-deter\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtion and self-ful\u00adfill\u00adment was made pos\u00adsi\u00adble and became more real for many.<\/p>\n

But then it went all wrong, why? What changed? What hap\u00adpened to the Dream of America?<\/p>\n

2021, Our Division
\n<\/strong>Though it would seem to many that we are divid\u00aded by space, between the coasts and the heart\u00adland, between the urban and rur\u00adal pop\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtions, I do not believe this fair\u00adly or accu\u00adrate\u00adly cap\u00adtures what is at the root of our divi\u00adsions between one anoth\u00ader. Just as our found\u00ading dichoto\u00admy of Slave and Free states led to the Civ\u00adil War, our divide is between two dif\u00adfer\u00ading ver\u00adsions of how we under\u00adstand our val\u00adue to one anoth\u00ader, and how we share in our wealth. Today, we have a coun\u00adtry that is divid\u00aded into the very wealthy few, and then a shrink\u00ading upper and mid\u00addle class, and final\u00adly the rest who are just strug\u00adgling to survive.<\/p>\n

Nep\u00adtune Square, 1980\u20131981<\/strong>
\nIt is impor\u00adtant to note when the USA<\/span> changed. I would point to the wax\u00ading square of Nep\u00adtune, the turn\u00ading point between 1938 and 2021, which was in 1980\u201381. And that is exact\u00adly when the growth of wealth for the peo\u00adple of the USA<\/span> became divid\u00aded and unfair. The dis\u00adtri\u00adb\u00adu\u00adtion of the growth of wealth from 1940 to 1980 is stark\u00adly dif\u00adfer\u00adent than that from 1980 to 2020; real\u00adly, it is of two quite dif\u00adfer\u00adent coun\u00adtries. The rea\u00adson is that choic\u00ades were made to turn away from fair\u00adness for the many, and to pro\u00admote ram\u00adpant self-inter\u00adest\u00aded beliefs and actions that led to self\u00adish\u00adness, greed, and great wealth for the few.<\/p>\n

Here is an inter\u00adest\u00ading math\u00ade\u00admat\u00adi\u00adcal sce\u00adnario: if you were to equal\u00adly divide the USA<\/span> nation\u00adal income and wealth, each house\u00adhold in the USA<\/span> would earn about $140,000 a year and have a net worth of almost $1 mil\u00adlion! Think about that; that is how unequal our sys\u00adtem has become. And it is that gross imbal\u00adance which has formed and solid\u00adi\u00adfied our polit\u00adi\u00adcal and cul\u00adtur\u00adal divides.<\/p>\n

We are con\u00adfront\u00aded with a coun\u00adtry that is deeply divid\u00aded once again, that is fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal\u00adly shaped by a vari\u00ada\u00adtion of the same ques\u00adtions put before us in the 1850\u2019s: Who is a cit\u00adi\u00adzen of this coun\u00adtry; are we tru\u00adly equal to one anoth\u00ader; do we have an equal voice and oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty to deter\u00admine our future in a ful\u00adly func\u00adtion\u00ading democ\u00adra\u00adcy or not?<\/p>\n

Democ\u00adra\u00adcy or not<\/strong>
\nThe answer is of course is we do not have a tru\u00adly func\u00adtion\u00ading democ\u00adra\u00adcy. That is not pos\u00adsi\u00adble when the wealth and pow\u00ader in the USA<\/span> is in the hands of so few indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adals and fam\u00adi\u00adlies. The USA<\/span> is an Oli\u00adgarchy, where\u00adin great wealth bestows polit\u00adi\u00adcal con\u00adtrol; it is a polit\u00adi\u00adcal and eco\u00adnom\u00adic sys\u00adtem ruled by Plu\u00adto\u00adcrats. From a small group of white men of prop\u00ader\u00adty in 1776, the USA<\/span> in over 200 years has arrived at a place where the rel\u00ada\u00adtive\u00adly few con\u00adtrol much of the wealth that all Amer\u00adi\u00adcans create.<\/p>\n

We are divid\u00aded because the Amer\u00adi\u00adcan Dream of self-deter\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtion and self-ful\u00adfill\u00adment is increas\u00ading\u00adly unreach\u00adable for more and more Amer\u00adi\u00adcans. Many par\u00adents today know that they have less than their par\u00adents, and they cer\u00adtain\u00adly fear that their chil\u00addren will have even less.<\/p>\n

Love, the Path to Healing<\/strong>
\nTo tru\u00adly heal this divide in the USA<\/span>, we must address the fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal divide between one anoth\u00ader. At its root, just as it was in the begin\u00adning of the Dream of Amer\u00adi\u00adca, we need to under\u00adstand the essen\u00adtial val\u00adue of one anoth\u00ader in each oth\u00ader, we need to under\u00adstand how we real\u00adly cre\u00adate value.<\/p>\n

The val\u00adue of any human enter\u00adprise is made by the inher\u00adent val\u00adue of each human which is brought to life and made man\u00adi\u00adfest by our com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adtions with one anoth\u00ader; it is by our col\u00adlab\u00ado\u00adra\u00adtions and joint ven\u00adtures, by our com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adties, fel\u00adlow\u00adships and friend\u00adships, that we real\u00adize our val\u00adue to one anoth\u00ader and for another.<\/p>\n

As I like to say, we would be noth\u00ading (for the most part) with\u00adout one anoth\u00ader. From Father\/Mother, to Grandfather\/Grandmother, to Sis\u00adters and Broth\u00aders, Friends, Col\u00adleagues and Loved Ones, we are all made by one anoth\u00ader and our true val\u00adue is com\u00adplete\u00adly inter\u00adtwined, inter\u00adde\u00adpen\u00addent and bound to one another.<\/p>\n

Our True Value<\/strong>
\nWe owe our well-being, we have our val\u00adue, from what we have made with one anoth\u00ader and shared with one anoth\u00ader. We are, as in every\u00adthing in this Uni\u00adverse, made by and become what we are through the mys\u00adtery of Alche\u00admy; we are what we are through com\u00adbin\u00ading with one anoth\u00ader in our sacred spaces of Union. We are indi\u00advis\u00adi\u00adble from one anoth\u00ader, and we must treat one anoth\u00ader with love, respect, and honor.<\/p>\n

We do not have a prob\u00adlem in cre\u00adat\u00ading val\u00adue; we have a very real prob\u00adlem in shar\u00ading with one another.<\/p>\n

We need to acknowl\u00adedge this basic spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal truth, that all our val\u00adues are made by each oth\u00ader for one another.<\/p>\n

If we are to meet our chal\u00adlenges, if we are to rise above the exis\u00adten\u00adtial threat of Cli\u00admate Change (which we cre\u00adat\u00aded in our igno\u00adrance), if we are to cre\u00adate a fair, just and sus\u00adtain\u00adable soci\u00adety, then we must make a sacred com\u00admit\u00adment to ensure that each and every per\u00adson has an oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty to ful\u00adfill their potential.<\/p>\n

We must turn to one anoth\u00ader, as we did over 200 years ago, and agree that \u201cwe mutu\u00adal\u00adly pledge to each oth\u00ader our Lives, our For\u00adtunes and our Sacred Honor\u201d.<\/p>\n
