I called today\u2019s show, which is the 9th show of our 2020 series, a \u201cNew World will rise, a look back and ahead\u201d. We need to do that because we are part of an ongo\u00ading devel\u00adop\u00adment in terms of his\u00adto\u00adry and human devel\u00adop\u00adment, of spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal and cul\u00adtur\u00adal and eco\u00adnom\u00adic devel\u00adop\u00adment, and that all these things are tied to one anoth\u00ader. We can find res\u00ado\u00adnances, if you will, of where plan\u00adets were at some point in time, and then look\u00ading at anoth\u00ader time where they are in those same positions.<\/p>\n

In this case, what I am doing is look\u00ading at the plan\u00adet Plu\u00adto being at the same Zodi\u00ada\u00adcal space, that it is in the same degree in Capri\u00adcorn, and look\u00ading at what was hap\u00adpen\u00ading when it was there com\u00adpared to now. And, again doing the same thing with the plan\u00adet Nep\u00adtune. Now these are sort of arbi\u00adtrary choic\u00ades. Because you would want to exam\u00adine plan\u00ade\u00adtary pat\u00adterns and plan\u00ade\u00adtary align\u00adments and all these oth\u00ader things, and you would want to be con\u00adsid\u00ader these too in terms of com\u00adpar\u00ading one peri\u00adod to anoth\u00ader. But it just is kind of strik\u00ading to me, so I thought I would just look at these two for today.<\/p>\n

1774\u201375<\/strong>
\n<\/strong>For the USA<\/span>, and again just look\u00ading at the USA<\/span>, (but we could look at oth\u00ader places as well for this) the peri\u00adods that I found that were par\u00adal\u00adlel to the cur\u00adrent year 2020 was 1774 to 1775, and that is formed by Plu\u00adto. And, the year of 1857 to 1858, look\u00ading at the plan\u00adet Nep\u00adtune, look\u00ading at Amer\u00adi\u00adcan history.<\/p>\n

It was in 1774, and many peo\u00adple don\u2019t real\u00adize this, because they think of the Amer\u00adi\u00adcan Rev\u00ado\u00adlu\u00adtion as start\u00ading in 1776, and that is the most rec\u00adog\u00adniz\u00adable date. But obvi\u00adous\u00adly we were build\u00ading towards that cir\u00adcum\u00adstance of an actu\u00adal phys\u00adi\u00adcal war break\u00ading out, (and it actu\u00adal\u00adly broke out in 1775). And things were hap\u00adpen\u00ading in 1774, and before then, that led up to what hap\u00adpened in 1776. In 1774, hav\u00ading had the \u201cBoston Tea Par\u00adty\u201d right before at the end of 1773, Eng\u00adland, the King and the par\u00adlia\u00adment, decid\u00aded to pass very pun\u00adish\u00ading laws on the colonies for these acts of civ\u00adil dis\u00adobe\u00addi\u00adence. They broke with their com\u00adpact of trade with the colonies, where we were sup\u00adposed to be gov\u00aderned fair\u00adly, and by which we would be rep\u00adre\u00adsent\u00aded by peo\u00adple in par\u00adlia\u00adment for our own inter\u00adests. Instead, here par\u00adlia\u00adment was pass\u00ading laws to pun\u00adish the colonies. The colonies, fac\u00ading these ter\u00adri\u00adble penal\u00adties and laws, called \u201cthe Intol\u00ader\u00ada\u00adble Acts\u201d, decid\u00aded to meet in this first Con\u00adti\u00adnen\u00adtal Con\u00adgress. They came togeth\u00ader, as these sep\u00ada\u00adrate colonies, and they said to one anoth\u00ader, \u201cwhat do we do for our con\u00adti\u00adnent, for our country?\u201d<\/p>\n

Basi\u00adcal\u00adly, they were begin\u00adning to form their union, though they maybe would\u00adn\u2019t have under\u00adstood it as such at that point, but that what was hap\u00adpen\u00ading. And then, they agreed to boy\u00adcott the goods from the UK<\/span>, and in so doing the UK<\/span> sent forces to Boston, to shut it down, to put it under mar\u00adtial law, and the peo\u00adple of Boston were harassed and abused. Sol\u00addiers were being quar\u00adtered, forced into people\u2019s homes, and all these ter\u00adri\u00adble things hap\u00adpened. And, this even\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly led to the bat\u00adtles of Lex\u00ading\u00adton and Con\u00adcord, and the siege of Boston in 1775, and the Rev\u00ado\u00adlu\u00adtion\u00adary War became inevitable.<\/p>\n

The issue for the colonists was quite sim\u00adple. They want\u00aded to have the right to self-deter\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtion, to have their val\u00adue as cit\u00adi\u00adzens of a coun\u00adtry, Eng\u00adland, be count\u00aded as equal to those who remained in Eng\u00adland. So, they chose a path of self-gov\u00adern\u00adment, break\u00ading with the Lords and King\u00adly hier\u00adar\u00adchy and declar\u00ading them\u00adselves to be, and this was rev\u00ado\u00adlu\u00adtion\u00adary, \u201cFree Men\u201d who had a divine right to deter\u00admine their own future.<\/p>\n

And, it was short\u00adly after the Amer\u00adi\u00adcan Rev\u00ado\u00adlu\u00adtion, that we had the French Rev\u00ado\u00adlu\u00adtion, though that was fraught with even greater upheaval and vio\u00adlence. They pro\u00adduced, in the very begin\u00adning of their rev\u00ado\u00adlu\u00adtion in 1789, the very famous \u201cDec\u00adla\u00adra\u00adtion of the Rights of Man\u201d, which was a very his\u00adtoric step in the march towards the prin\u00adci\u00adple of self-deter\u00admined gov\u00adern\u00adment, which is what was emerg\u00ading in that his\u00adtor\u00adi\u00adcal peri\u00adod of the 1700s. The world was mov\u00ading from feu\u00addal\u00adism to monar\u00adchies in the 1500s and now in the 1700s mov\u00ading from monar\u00adchies to this form of self-gov\u00adern\u00adment, of par\u00adlia\u00admen\u00adtary democracy.<\/p>\n

1857\u201358<\/strong>
\nWell, we flash for\u00adward in our coun\u00adtry to address one of the remain\u00ading great sins of our country\u2019s ori\u00adgin in 1857\u20131858. Things were becom\u00ading very fraught in our coun\u00adtry, over the strug\u00adgle over slave or free states, and whether or not slav\u00adery was going to spread through\u00adout the coun\u00adtry or not. And in that peri\u00adod, when Nep\u00adtune was in the same Zodi\u00ada\u00adcal space or posi\u00adtion as it is now, (and this is kind of strik\u00ading in terms of how we are again deal\u00ading with this very same ques\u00adtion in our coun\u00adtry, of what does it mean to be \u201cAmer\u00adi\u00adcan\u201d, and who can who is allowed to come here, and how do we treat fair\u00adly and equal\u00adly or not all peo\u00adples, again being the ques\u00adtion). The Dred Scott deci\u00adsion, by the Supreme Court, deter\u00admined that slaves would nev\u00ader be cit\u00adi\u00adzens and no mat\u00adter where they went, they could be seized as prop\u00ader\u00adty of their for\u00admer Masters.<\/p>\n

And so, this was high\u00adlight\u00aded in the Lin\u00adcoln-Dou\u00adglas debates, where Lin\u00adcoln most famous\u00adly stat\u00aded, \u201c\u2026that a house divid\u00aded against itself can\u00adnot stand.\u201d He was say\u00ading that we were two peo\u00adples, two dif\u00adfer\u00adent economies, two dif\u00adfer\u00adent cul\u00adtures, and we were divid\u00aded from one anoth\u00ader, and this divi\u00adsion of our coun\u00adtry had to be resolved some\u00adhow. And, of course, it was resolved in the Civ\u00adil War of the 1860\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Yet, after the Civ\u00adil War the promise of a bet\u00adter and more just coun\u00adtry was thwart\u00aded. There was the pol\u00adi\u00adcy known as Recon\u00adstruc\u00adtion, but that recon\u00adstruc\u00adtion was blocked even\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly. And, a new sys\u00adtem of nom\u00adi\u00adnal slav\u00adery was imposed by the share\u00adcrop\u00adper sys\u00adtem, of basi\u00adcal\u00adly peon\u00adage for the for\u00admer slaves. It was only, real\u00adly, dur\u00ading the \u201csec\u00adond civ\u00adil war\u201d, as I would call it, in the 1950s and 60s, the civ\u00adil rights move\u00adment, which brought about the legal reforms and pres\u00adsures upon the for\u00admer con\u00adfed\u00ader\u00ada\u00adcy, most\u00adly the South, which opened the door to greater free\u00addom for the black cit\u00adi\u00adzens in the South and of course those in the North too, who had also faced great inequal\u00adi\u00adty and seg\u00adre\u00adga\u00adtion. And, still to this day, the work is not done.<\/p>\n

But also, in that peri\u00adod, and this is quite inter\u00adest\u00ading, with Nep\u00adtune being this uni\u00adfi\u00ader, and encom\u00adpass\u00ading and bring\u00ading every\u00adthing togeth\u00ader in one uni\u00adver\u00adsal expe\u00adri\u00adence, that this same peri\u00adod wit\u00adnessed the first ever world\u00adwide economic\/financial pan\u00adic that swept across the entire plan\u00adet. This hap\u00adpened when Nep\u00adtune was in the same posi\u00adtion as today, and it is kind inter\u00adest\u00ading, that we are hav\u00ading this world\u00adwide \u201cpan\u00addem\u00adic pan\u00adic\u201d, which is crush\u00ading economies around the world here at the same time. It is very much a par\u00adal\u00adlel expe\u00adri\u00adence, but also very much is dif\u00adfer\u00adent too.<\/p>\n

Our Time<\/strong>
\nSo, what we all want to know is what\u2019s com\u00ading next, what\u2019s our future? What will this world we are going into look like? What is our respon\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty now?<\/p>\n

We real\u00adly must face and accept the truth, that as much as we made the won\u00adders of this world, we also made the hor\u00adrors of the world that is now con\u00adfronting us.<\/p>\n

This pan\u00addem\u00adic and what may fol\u00adlow, this was and will be our cre\u00adation. And there is only one ques\u00adtion, how do we make a bet\u00adter world for one and all?<\/p>\n

Just as in 1774 and 1857, as always, the chal\u00adlenge in any time, is spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal. Will we reveal what is best in us by fol\u00adlow\u00ading the one true spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal imper\u00ada\u00adtive: \u201cThat we are all relat\u00aded\u201d; and what we do to any oth\u00ader we inevitably will be doing to ourselves.<\/p>\n

I hold that this is the shin\u00ading light, that we are on an \u201cArc of Awak\u00aden\u00ading\u201d, and our path will ever bend towards the truth to see one anoth\u00ader as cre\u00adat\u00aded equal. And that behind all of cre\u00adation there is \u201cthe One\u201d.<\/p>\n

We were made by this One True Love; we are sim\u00adply and most pro\u00adfound\u00adly here to love one anoth\u00ader as we are loved.<\/p>\n

So, my ques\u00adtion is what comes first, what mat\u00adters most? And, we real\u00adize that we must now decide how we will be guid\u00aded by this absolute spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal truth, that all life is sacred. Our lives, right now, will be for\u00adev\u00ader mea\u00adsured by our love for one anoth\u00ader and our lives will also be mea\u00adsured by how we treat all the life forms on this plan\u00adet, with whom we share this beau\u00adti\u00adful world.<\/p>\n

What comes first? Life comes first. <\/strong><\/p>\n

What mat\u00adters most to us who are here now, and for all the gen\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtions who will come after us, is that we, from this point for\u00adward, act with the under\u00adstand\u00ading that our lives depend upon all the oth\u00ader life forms on this plan\u00adet. This pan\u00addem\u00adic, among many oth\u00ader signs, is a warn\u00ading that we have made a world that is out of bal\u00adance. If we do not change our way of life, we will be fac\u00ading ever greater threats in the not very dis\u00adtant future.<\/p>\n

The accel\u00ader\u00adat\u00ading true glob\u00adal pan\u00addem\u00adic is Cli\u00admate Change, of which this pan\u00addem\u00adic is mere\u00adly a symp\u00adtom, and this virus real\u00adly only threat\u00adens us humans. All our plans and actions must be guid\u00aded by an absolute com\u00admit\u00adment now to pro\u00adtect and pre\u00adserve the diverse hier\u00adar\u00adchies of life that make pos\u00adsi\u00adble all lives, includ\u00ading our very own.<\/p>\n

What is the val\u00adue of any nation, and of our nation?<\/p>\n

I always say, it is the peo\u00adple. As I have said many times in my blog, and on my radio show, and in read\u00adings with clients, the val\u00adue of the com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty, of a vil\u00adlage and town, region or nation, is not in its phys\u00adi\u00adcal attrib\u00adut\u00ades, in its land or water, or oth\u00ader nat\u00adur\u00adal resources. Of course, those things mat\u00adter for life. But the source of val\u00adue in any human soci\u00adety is the val\u00adue of each and every human.<\/p>\n

And the ques\u00adtion will be for that cul\u00adture or peo\u00adple, for us here now, did you cre\u00adate the best pos\u00adsi\u00adble con\u00addi\u00adtions to help those humans real\u00adize their fullest potential?<\/p>\n

Because that\u2019s where val\u00adue comes from; we make it.<\/p>\n

Injus\u00adtice<\/strong>
\nHis\u00adtor\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly, this essen\u00adtial under\u00adstand\u00ading of the val\u00adue of human\u00adi\u00adty has often been cir\u00adcum\u00adscribed and lim\u00adit\u00aded, arranged hier\u00adar\u00adchi\u00adcal\u00adly in the dif\u00adfer\u00adent social orders through\u00adout his\u00adto\u00adry. Whether in a hunting\/gathering cul\u00adture or a pas\u00adtoral cul\u00adture or farm\u00aders or crafts and trades, and on into this so-called mod\u00adern world filled with a range of occu\u00adpa\u00adtions and lifeways.<\/p>\n

Though the foun\u00adda\u00adtion\u00adal ideas of our own Dec\u00adla\u00adra\u00adtion of Inde\u00adpen\u00addence were ide\u00adal\u00adis\u00adtic and inspi\u00adra\u00adtional; where\u00adin we stat\u00aded, \u201c\u2026that we hold these truths to be self-evi\u00addent, that all men are cre\u00adat\u00aded equal\u201d, we know that at our found\u00ading, and for many years there\u00adafter, these fine ideals were not fol\u00adlowed whatsoever.<\/p>\n

The vast major\u00adi\u00adty of humans on this con\u00adti\u00adnent were con\u00adsid\u00adered, for a very long time, to not even be human, and were sub\u00adject\u00aded to geno\u00adci\u00addal war\u00adfare, the Native Amer\u00adi\u00adcans. And, anoth\u00ader huge pop\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtion of peo\u00adple were con\u00adsid\u00adered to be only fit as beasts of bur\u00adden, as prop\u00ader\u00adty to be bought and sold by their so-called mas\u00adters, the black slaves. And we can\u00adnot for\u00adget that most men with\u00adout sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant prop\u00ader\u00adty and all women were regard\u00aded as not wor\u00adthy of self-deter\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtion or equal rights to the men of property.<\/p>\n

Yes, we have come a long way, but our present cir\u00adcum\u00adstance lays bare once again how far we have yet to go. Our his\u00adto\u00adry of slow\u00adly extend\u00ading legal equal\u00adi\u00adty for all has been hard and painful, but the lega\u00adcy of racism, slav\u00adery and geno\u00adcide still per\u00adme\u00adates our cul\u00adture to this day, as we can see in the dif\u00adfer\u00ading out\u00adcomes for dif\u00adfer\u00adent groups, in the kind of health care and lives they can live and hope for. This has to stop; it has to stop now.<\/p>\n

Inequal\u00adi\u00adty<\/strong>
\nOver the course of our his\u00adto\u00adry we have gone from a most\u00adly agrar\u00adi\u00adan nation to a man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adtur\u00ading colos\u00adsus, to a ser\u00advice-based econ\u00ado\u00admy. The imbal\u00adances that led to the Great Depres\u00adsion were addressed by the New Deal, and led to a peri\u00adod of rel\u00ada\u00adtive\u00adly shared growth from the 1940s onwards in the var\u00adi\u00adous per\u00adcentiles, the divi\u00adsions of the coun\u00adtry, the bot\u00adtom 20th<\/sup>, the top 20th<\/sup> and so on.<\/p>\n

But since 1980 that shared pros\u00adper\u00adi\u00adty has been bro\u00adken. Part\u00adly it was the shift from a man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adtur\u00ading to a ser\u00advice econ\u00ado\u00admy. But it was also cre\u00adat\u00aded by those with the means to influ\u00adence the laws of this nation, the rules of the econ\u00ado\u00admy, and they shaped those rules to serve the accu\u00admu\u00adla\u00adtion of wealth as opposed to hav\u00ading a more fair\u00adly shared dis\u00adtri\u00adb\u00adu\u00adtion as we had expe\u00adri\u00adenced since the 1940s.<\/p>\n

The imbal\u00adance in the dis\u00adtri\u00adb\u00adu\u00adtion of wealth in this coun\u00adtry is not a nat\u00adur\u00adal result. It has been formed by changes in the econ\u00ado\u00admy. Yes, as the pow\u00ader of unions fad\u00aded, as we moved from a man\u00adu\u00adfac\u00adtur\u00ading econ\u00ado\u00admy and oth\u00ader things, and no sim\u00adi\u00adlar orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion was able to pro\u00adtect the work\u00aders in the grow\u00ading ser\u00advice sec\u00adtors (and this is most cer\u00adtain\u00adly true for the emerg\u00ading econ\u00ado\u00admy of gig work\u00aders). But for many years the vast major\u00adi\u00adty of our cit\u00adi\u00adzens have worked hard\u00ader and hard\u00ader for less and less of the share in the pro\u00adduc\u00adtiv\u00adi\u00adty that they made pos\u00adsi\u00adble, that they created.<\/p>\n

Many feel that there must be some\u00adthing wrong with them, that it\u2019s their fail\u00adure, it\u2019s per\u00adson\u00adal instead of being the con\u00adse\u00adquences of a sys\u00adtem that is not fair. But this was more as a con\u00adse\u00adquence of poli\u00adcies and laws that accel\u00ader\u00adat\u00aded and pro\u00adtect\u00aded the accu\u00admu\u00adla\u00adtion of wealth, that favored short-term gains over long-term invest\u00adments, cor\u00adpo\u00adrate pow\u00ader of the few out\u00adweigh\u00ading the votes of the many, as con\u00adgress\u00adman and sen\u00ada\u00adtors wrote the laws that favored their finan\u00adcial back\u00aders, and also cre\u00adat\u00aded laws that apply to every\u00adone but themselves.<\/p>\n

Cri\u00adsis and Opportunity<\/strong>
\nYes, a cri\u00adsis such as we face now reveals the great\u00adest in our cul\u00adture and the rot and the cor\u00adrup\u00adtion too. As I have point\u00aded out in pre\u00advi\u00adous blog post\u00adings and shows, the shift in the 1930s and 1940s led to a very dif\u00adfer\u00adent shift in the 1980s, where the fair\u00adness in the USA<\/span> began to break\u00addown. So here we are, again, 40 years lat\u00ader, the 1940s the 1980s and now the 2020s, and this cri\u00adsis is call\u00ading once more for a new way of orga\u00adniz\u00ading our lives and livelihoods.<\/p>\n

But this cri\u00adsis, this turn\u00ading, will be much big\u00adger because the stakes are so much high\u00ader. More than an eco\u00adnom\u00adic cri\u00adsis or a polit\u00adi\u00adcal cri\u00adsis, we tru\u00adly face a spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal and exis\u00adten\u00adtial cri\u00adsis. Life on this plan\u00adet is in cri\u00adsis, and we have only to look in the mir\u00adror to see who is to blame.<\/p>\n

The plan\u00adets, Plu\u00adto or Nep\u00adtune, Uranus or Sat\u00adurn, they don\u2019t cause any\u00adthing, they just frame the tim\u00ading of the unfold\u00adment of pat\u00adterns. And, they pro\u00advide mean\u00ading or con\u00adtext to what is hap\u00adpen\u00ading, but the con\u00adtent of this moment, the pan\u00addem\u00adic and what is com\u00ading after that we made and is what we will make.<\/p>\n

We all have a choice and we must put first what is most impor\u00adtant, life! The actions we are tak\u00ading now, to face this cri\u00adsis, are the first steps that we are also tak\u00ading to make the New World.<\/p>\n

The old world is bro\u00adken; the ways we sourced ener\u00adgy, the ways we sourced our food, the way we cre\u00adat\u00aded shel\u00adter and cloth\u00ading, the way we met our needs for one anoth\u00ader, these will and must change. Because most of these ways that got us to here, they will not get us to where we need to go.<\/p>\n

Our old ways were destroy\u00ading life on this plan\u00adet, the beau\u00adty of the divine diver\u00adsi\u00adty of this world is rapid\u00adly becom\u00ading a mem\u00ado\u00adry. With\u00adout pre\u00adserv\u00ading all oth\u00ader life forms, from the most infin\u00adi\u00adtes\u00adi\u00admal to the most majes\u00adtic, from the plank\u00adton in the oceans and the fish\u00ades is in the seas, from the bees and the birds that trav\u00adel in the air, from the val\u00adleys to the moun\u00adtain tops, life is leav\u00ading this plan\u00adet and we made this happen.<\/p>\n

And that truth is our shame, but that truth can also be our salvation.<\/p>\n

We made this hap\u00adpen, and we can do bet\u00adter. And, now that we know, what choice do we have? Now that we live in fear, we are pay\u00ading attention.<\/p>\n

This is the moment; our lives and our world will change, but only we can make a dif\u00adfer\u00adence in the how. We must choose life; we must choose to love one anoth\u00ader and all of life on this planet.<\/p>\n

Okay, I know that was quite a lot, but I want\u00aded to try to get it out there for all of us to con\u00adsid\u00ader. That we should pause this time to con\u00adsid\u00ader this beau\u00adti\u00adful world we live in, and the beau\u00adty that we can behold in one anoth\u00ader, and the beau\u00adty of nature all around us. That we should be so grate\u00adful and thank\u00adful for this gift, for this won\u00adder. And our desire should only be to pre\u00adserve and make it better.<\/p>\n

We are not here to use up the world, there is no \u201cPlan\u00adet B\u201d. We only have this, this lifeboat, this beau\u00adti\u00adful blue orb spin\u00adning through space, a won\u00adder\u00adful lifeboat of life. And, we are the ones who can save it if we are not the ones who will destroy it.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m sure most of you know these things, think these thoughts, share these thoughts with those that you care for and care about. We all want the world to change, we all want to get back to a bet\u00adter life.<\/p>\n

But we\u2019re not going to go back, we have to go for\u00adward if we\u2019re going to make a bet\u00adter life.<\/p>\n

I hope we all take that mes\u00adsage to heart. I hope we all do our part now, to make the world a bet\u00adter place, because it\u2019s the only thing that matters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
