Now it \u201cbegins\u201d\u2026 this is the real start for 2011. A New Moon and a Solar Eclipse! Wow! And yet, at the very moment of the begin\u00adning, we are remind\u00aded that we can\u00adnot go for\u00adward with\u00adout tak\u00ading care of what has come before\u2026<\/p>\n
Each New Moon presents us with the theme for the next month. So, the Capri\u00adcorn New Moon means our focus this month should be upon the word of Capricorn.\u2026Responsibility. The word is derived from Respon\u00addere, \u201cto under\u00adtake in return, to per\u00adform one\u2019s part in a solemn engagement\u2026and to be respon\u00adsivus or answering.\u201d<\/p>\n
The rev\u00ade\u00adla\u00adtion of the true mean\u00ading behind a word pro\u00advides a greater under\u00adstand\u00ading of our cul\u00adture and con\u00adscious\u00adness. We can turn this word around and see that respon\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty means lit\u00ader\u00adal\u00adly our \u201cabil\u00adi\u00adty to respond\u201d, our \u201cabil\u00adi\u00adty to answer\u201d. Respon\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty is the call we must answer to per\u00adform our right\u00adful part in the life of our soci\u00adety; our ful\u00adfill\u00adment is sim\u00adply to per\u00adform our duty.<\/p>\n
Our duty, our respon\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty is to ful\u00adfill our\u00adselves, to be what we were meant to be. This is the Capri\u00adcorn moment, to reach the apex of our poten\u00adtial and so ful\u00adfill our\u00adselves in the man\u00adner that is made avail\u00adable and deemed wor\u00adthy by our cul\u00adture. But what is our duty, what is at the core of our ful\u00adfill\u00adment, what is it that we are being respon\u00adsi\u00adble for?<\/p>\n
We are humans and we have needs which we can and must ful\u00adfill with and through one anoth\u00ader. We are not alone; we are social beings and to be respon\u00adsi\u00adble means that we must be able to respond to the needs of those around us, those we are respon\u00adsi\u00adble for. That is our duty; and that is our true path to fulfillment.<\/p>\n
We stand in a great chain of cre\u00adation, each gen\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion tasked with the care of those that fol\u00adlow, as those who came before cared for us. We are guid\u00aded by prece\u00addent, we hon\u00ador our tra\u00addi\u00adtions and we pre\u00adserve and pass down what has been achieved thus far. This is the mes\u00adsage of this month, this New Moon of Capricorn.<\/p>\n
But this New Moon is a Solar Eclipse, the Earth, Sun and Moon are aligned again and a shad\u00adow races across the face of the Earth this time. The Past (Moon) is blot\u00adting out the Future (Sun) so that we on Earth (Present) feel more strong\u00adly the bur\u00addens of our past. We have some unfin\u00adished busi\u00adness to attend to. A New Moon rep\u00adre\u00adsents a fresh start, a new begin\u00adning, but the eclipse is say\u00ading you need to fin\u00adish what you have left undone. You can\u00adnot \u201csee\u201d your Future (Sun), if you let the Past (Moon) get in the way.<\/p>\n
So each of us, and all of us col\u00adlec\u00adtive\u00adly, need to look with\u00adin and take some time to see what we have left undone, where we have not been respon\u00adsi\u00adble to our\u00adselves or to another.\u2026and fix this before we can go forward.<\/p>\n
