INTRODUCTION<\/span>:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The gen\u00ader\u00adal out\u00adlook for 2011 would appear to be bet\u00adter than that of the last sev\u00ader\u00adal years. We have come through a series of align\u00adments that have shook and shocked our world, and there is more just ahead in this decade. And it has been whis\u00adpered, just maybe, we will move into the dawn of a new world, the begin\u00adning of a new age, by the 2020\u2019s. But, for now, 2011 might pro\u00advide some degree of need\u00aded respite to our chal\u00adlenges and tribulations.<\/p>\n

Where\u00adas in 2006-07 we had Sat\u00adurn oppos\u00ading Nep\u00adtune, which her\u00adald\u00aded the bust\u00ading of many illu\u00adsions in the world, not the least of which was the credit\/debit bub\u00adble burst\u00ading. This was fol\u00adlowed by 2008-10 where we faced Sat\u00adurn and Uranus in oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion, which was the dri\u00adving force of the con\u00adflicts between out\u00adworn exist\u00ading insti\u00adtu\u00adtions and sys\u00adtems, ver\u00adsus the some\u00adtimes inco\u00adher\u00adent erup\u00adtion of ener\u00adgies seek\u00ading to bring about fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal change in the sta\u00adtus quo.<\/p>\n

This jux\u00adta\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adtion of Sat\u00adurn and Uranus was then joined in the lat\u00adter part of that peri\u00adod, in late 2009 into 2010, by Sat\u00adurn squar\u00ading Plu\u00adto. This chal\u00adlenge (Plu\u00adto) to the sta\u00adtus quo (Sat\u00adurn) added a deep\u00ader and more threat\u00aden\u00ading tone to the forces of change sweep\u00ading our world. The forces attempt\u00ading to pre\u00adserve order and those attempt\u00ading to cre\u00adate a new one are now locked in a great struggle.<\/p>\n

A Time to Pause<\/strong>
But it would seem that this year there is to be a pause. That is mere appear\u00adance, of course, because time (the plan\u00adets) march on and there is always change, even if it is less intense for some of us. But it is a time to look for signs, a time to re-assess and re-group. For up ahead, the dance of the plan\u00adets con\u00adtin\u00adues, and they will lead us into more pow\u00ader\u00adful forces and align\u00adments, the very forces that can and will bring about a new world.<\/p>\n

This entry is by way of begin\u00adning my expla\u00adna\u00adtion of what to look for in the year ahead and in the years to come, (and what we can learn from years past), as shown to us by what is known as Mun\u00addane or World\u00adly Astrol\u00ado\u00adgy. Just as in per\u00adson\u00adal or per\u00adson-cen\u00adtered astrol\u00ado\u00adgy, this can and must be viewed in two dis\u00adtinct ways.<\/p>\n

Two Kinds of Tran\u00adsits<\/strong>
One type is as in the exam\u00adples above; that is of plan\u00adets mov\u00ading in a great dance with one anoth\u00ader in our solar sys\u00adtem. They con\u00adtin\u00adu\u00adal\u00adly form up var\u00adi\u00adous com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adtions of aspects with one anoth\u00ader that cre\u00adate or pro\u00adduce effects felt by one and all col\u00adlec\u00adtive\u00adly here on Earth. These com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adtions astrologers call Tran\u00adsits to Tran\u00adsits. With\u00adin this great whirling of wheels with\u00adin wheels, pat\u00adterns form and re-form, pat\u00adterns repeat but nev\u00ader quite exact\u00adly as before. But since there is much that can be gained from look\u00ading at those pri\u00ador align\u00adments, we look back to those sim\u00adi\u00adlar pat\u00adterns in an attempt to dis\u00adcern the con\u00addi\u00adtions for our present and future. So I will refer to oth\u00ader times and places to illus\u00adtrate the nature of what we are faced with now.<\/p>\n

The oth\u00ader type of align\u00adment is what astrologers call Tran\u00adsits to Natal. These are cre\u00adat\u00aded by the plan\u00adets mov\u00ading through our solar sys\u00adtem as they form rela\u00adtion\u00adships with the plan\u00ade\u00adtary place\u00adments that are in a par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar birth chart. For Mun\u00addane Astrol\u00ado\u00adgy, we look at the charts of Nations, World Lead\u00aders and oth\u00ader notable indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adals, major Eco\u00adnom\u00adic, Cul\u00adtur\u00adal, Spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal, or any oth\u00ader \u201cbirthed\u201d orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions, to ascer\u00adtain the forces at work in their past, present or future. I will be exam\u00adin\u00ading a num\u00adber of such enti\u00adties in this 2011 fore\u00adcast, and, as events unfold, will from time to time look at oth\u00ader play\u00aders on the stage of history.<\/p>\n

And with this sec\u00adond type of align\u00adment comes a caveat to my open\u00ading claim that 2011 will be a respite. Although the depth and pow\u00ader of the \u201cTran\u00adsits to Tran\u00adsits\u201d this year is more mut\u00aded, that may not mat\u00adter for some. For many indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adals and orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions, the tran\u00adsits to their own charts that will be in force this year will be pro\u00adfound and chal\u00adleng\u00ading. The forces that have been unleashed of late are still play\u00ading out in each of us and in our orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions. That means for many of us, 2011 will seem as event\u00adful and chal\u00adleng\u00ading as what we have wit\u00adnessed before. The wheels are turn\u00ading; the dance of life goes on.<\/p>\n

Des\u00adtiny<\/strong>
But we must always remem\u00adber; this world is going to be trans\u00adformed, not by plan\u00adets or stars, but by\u2026 us<\/strong>. We are the actors in this dra\u00adma; and forces play through and around us. But it is up to each and every one of us to make the world that is com\u00ading into being.<\/p>\n

All we can do, and must do, is under\u00adstand where and what we have come from, to watch for and under\u00adstand the signs that have always been there to guide us, and, so guid\u00aded, ful\u00adfill our des\u00adtiny which is to cre\u00adate a heav\u00aden here on Earth.<\/p>\n

MAJOR<\/span> ALIGNMENTS<\/span> \u2014 Part One:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As I men\u00adtioned in the intro\u00adduc\u00adtion<\/a>, the year ahead seems to offer a brief respite from the pow\u00ader\u00adful align\u00adments we have expe\u00adri\u00adenced in the recent past. Plan\u00ade\u00adtary motions, how\u00adev\u00ader, are not cir\u00adcum\u00adscribed by our cal\u00aden\u00addar and often align\u00adments and their effects spill over from one year to anoth\u00ader. So too in this year some of the sig\u00adna\u00adture events of 2010 are fin\u00adish\u00ading up here in the first quar\u00adter of 2011.<\/p>\n

Jupiter Con\u00adjunct Uranus (Jan. 4)<\/strong>
Among the more sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant of these align\u00adments was the sub\u00adject of what I wrote in the post\u00ading for Jan\u00adu\u00adary 4, Jupiter Con\u00adjunct Uranus<\/a>. This event was the third and final con\u00adjunc\u00adtion (New Moon) of Jupiter with Uranus. Their cycle, from con\u00adjunc\u00adtion to the next con\u00adjunc\u00adtion, lasts about 14 years and each con\u00adjunc\u00adtion her\u00adalds the release of ener\u00adgies that stim\u00adu\u00adlate the devel\u00adop\u00adment of dis\u00adcov\u00ader\u00adies and break\u00adthroughs in arts, sci\u00adence and tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy. More\u00adover, on a social lev\u00adel, their impulse serves to quick\u00aden the evo\u00adlu\u00adtion of new forms of social devel\u00adop\u00adment and inter\u00adac\u00adtion. This more per\u00adson\u00adal or social aspect of the align\u00adment was explained in the post\u00ading for Jan\u00adu\u00adary 5, Jupiter Con\u00adjunct Uranus- World\u00adly vs. Per\u00adson\u00adal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Though they have \u201cfin\u00adished\u201d their con\u00adjunc\u00adtion, we will see the effects of their align\u00adment in the years to come in the wider prop\u00ada\u00adga\u00adtion of the sci\u00aden\u00adtif\u00adic and tech\u00adno\u00adlog\u00adi\u00adcal advances they stim\u00adu\u00adlat\u00aded. We will also see the social aspects of their quick\u00aden\u00ading play\u00ading out in our rela\u00adtion\u00adships with one anoth\u00ader too, as the urge to estab\u00adlish greater free\u00addoms with\u00adin and between one anoth\u00ader accel\u00ader\u00adates the devel\u00adop\u00adment of var\u00adi\u00adous cul\u00adtures and societies.<\/p>\n

Jupiter Oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion Sat\u00adurn (Mar. 28)<\/strong>
The oth\u00ader \u201ccar\u00adry-over\u201d align\u00adment from 2010 is the oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion (Full Moon) of Jupiter and Sat\u00adurn. Their cycle, from Con\u00adjunc\u00adtion to Con\u00adjunc\u00adtion, (or as in this case, Oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion to Oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion), is 20 years. In 2010 they came to an oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion in late May and mid-August, and their final con\u00adtact will be on March 28, 2011.<\/p>\n

With Jupiter rul\u00ading prin\u00adci\u00adples, truths and beliefs, and Sat\u00adurn rul\u00ading struc\u00adtures, insti\u00adtu\u00adtions and real\u00adi\u00adty, their oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion pro\u00advides a sharp con\u00adtrast for us to see how much what we believe to be true is being lived out in fact. In oth\u00ader words, it is a time for a reck\u00adon\u00ading between the belief or mean\u00ading behind the form and the form or real\u00adi\u00adty itself. More often than not, (and this depends upon what else is hap\u00adpen\u00ading down here and \u201cup there\u201d), this oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion can cre\u00adate a cri\u00adsis of faith in our belief sys\u00adtems or a loss of trust in our insti\u00adtu\u00adtions\u2026 or both. Cer\u00adtain\u00adly, here and around the world, this was a year of reck\u00adon\u00ading, and more than we might at first realize.<\/p>\n

The Great Muta\u00adtion of Jupiter and Sat\u00adurn<\/strong>
For this dance of Jupiter and Sat\u00adurn has a sto\u00adried his\u00adto\u00adry for astrologers. We have used their ser\u00adi\u00adal align\u00adments as they progress through the ele\u00adments to under\u00adstand some of the larg\u00ader forces at play in our uni\u00adverse. What we have dis\u00adcov\u00adered is that Jupiter and Sat\u00adurn will come togeth\u00ader in their con\u00adjunc\u00adtion in the same ele\u00adment, (Fire, Earth, Air and Water), for about 180 to 200 years, before they move onto the next ele\u00adment. This move\u00adment from ele\u00adment to ele\u00adment is called the \u201cGreat Mutation\u201d.<\/p>\n

Since 1842 their con\u00adjunc\u00adtions have been occur\u00adring in Earth and their last such align\u00adment was in the spring of 2000. While in an ele\u00admen\u00adtal phase, those con\u00addi\u00adtions estab\u00adlished by that ele\u00adment per\u00adme\u00adate and pro\u00admote the devel\u00adop\u00adments in cul\u00adture and soci\u00adety. So, the last 169+ years have wit\u00adnessed an explo\u00adsion in the har\u00adness\u00ading of ener\u00adgies and mate\u00adri\u00adals of the earth, lit\u00ader\u00adal\u00adly. It has been an \u201cage\u201d of mate\u00adri\u00adal\u00adism, of the rise of our car\u00adbon fueled soci\u00adety and the cre\u00adation of a very spe\u00adcif\u00adic kind of real\u00adi\u00adty. But there is change in the air already, and our real\u00adi\u00adty is about to be transformed\u2026<\/p>\n

For what we have also found is that there is often a sign of things to come right before the next Great Muta\u00adtion. Often, it seems, the sec\u00adond to last con\u00adjunc\u00adtion occurs in that next ele\u00adment in the series. So in 1802 there was a pre\u00adcur\u00adsor align\u00adment in Earth. And most recent\u00adly, it was the 1980\u201381 Air con\u00adjunc\u00adtion in Libra, before we reached the final align\u00adment in Earth via the Tau\u00adrus con\u00adjunc\u00adtion of May 2000.<\/p>\n

The Next Age<\/strong>
What these seem to pro\u00advide is a \u201cseed\u00ading\u201d of what is to come, a taste of the new world that will be inau\u00adgu\u00adrat\u00aded at the next Great Muta\u00adtion, which for us is just ahead in 2020. As the 1802 con\u00adjunc\u00adtion jump-start\u00aded the \u201cAge of Mate\u00adri\u00adal\u00adism\u201d, so too has the 1980\u201381 align\u00adment ini\u00adti\u00adat\u00aded what we might call the \u201cAge of Virtue\u201d. Though some aspects of this Vir\u00adtu\u00adous\u00adness or \u201cVir\u00adtu\u00ados\u00adi\u00adty\u201d have man\u00adi\u00adfest\u00aded in rather phys\u00adi\u00adcal forms, such as in the devel\u00adop\u00adments in the 1980\u2019s and 90\u2019s which wit\u00adnessed the pro\u00adlif\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion of com\u00adput\u00aders, cel\u00adlu\u00adlar phones and the inter\u00adnet, (our inter\u00adcon\u00adnect\u00aded\u00adness was accel\u00ader\u00adat\u00ading), and which has now lead to the evo\u00adlu\u00adtion of vir\u00adtu\u00adal worlds and com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adties, (such as expe\u00adri\u00adenced in phe\u00adnom\u00ade\u00adna like Face\u00adbook), we will see that the 2020\u2019s and beyond will wit\u00adness the con\u00adtin\u00adu\u00ading unfold\u00adment of forms of con\u00adnec\u00adtiv\u00adi\u00adty that will tran\u00adscend these phys\u00adi\u00adcal forms and their lim\u00adits. But we are, (I am), get\u00adting ahead of ourselves.<\/p>\n

Jupiter and Sat\u00adurn Now<\/strong>
At the present moment, the final oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion of Jupiter and Sat\u00adurn with\u00adin the Earth series pro\u00advides us with this moment in time to see to what extent we have trans\u00adformed our\u00adselves and our world through our mate\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal \u201cmas\u00adtery\u201d. And, it equal\u00adly reminds us what lim\u00adits and chal\u00adlenges have been cre\u00adat\u00aded by this earthy par\u00ada\u00addigm in our con\u00adscious\u00adness as well. We may mar\u00advel at our cre\u00adations, yet we must mourn what we have sac\u00adri\u00adficed of this Earth to bring about our mate\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal world. <\/p>\n

What\u2019s ahead? <\/strong>

MAJOR<\/span> ALIGNMENTS<\/span> \u2014 Part Two:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

We turn our atten\u00adtion now to the oth\u00ader major \u201cTran\u00adsit to Tran\u00adsit\u201d align\u00adments of 2011 and oth\u00ader phenomena.<\/p>\n

Jupiter Square Plu\u00adto (Feb. 25)<\/strong>
The cycle of Jupiter and Plu\u00adto, again from con\u00adjunc\u00adtion to con\u00adjunc\u00adtion, is rough\u00adly 12 years long. Their last con\u00adjunc\u00adtion (New Moon) occurred at the end of Decem\u00adber 2007. That con\u00adjunc\u00adtion released a new poten\u00adtial for inte\u00adgrat\u00ading our Will (Plu\u00adto) and Beliefs (Jupiter) with\u00adin the con\u00adtext of the sign of Sagit\u00adtar\u00adius, the seek\u00ader of truth.<\/p>\n

We arrive at their wax\u00ading square on Feb\u00adru\u00adary 25, 2011, and again we face a choice. Now we are at cross\u00adroads, we must find a way to inte\u00adgrate Jupiter in Aries, which seeks to pur\u00adsue new and ide\u00adal\u00adis\u00adtic forms of rela\u00adtion\u00adship, with the demands of Plu\u00adto in Capri\u00adcorn, which seeks to main\u00adtain con\u00adtrol as demand\u00aded by tra\u00addi\u00adtion and estab\u00adlished author\u00adi\u00adty. The spir\u00adit of Jupiter yearns to bring about new forms of per\u00adson\u00adal and social advance\u00adment, but the will of the sta\u00adtus quo as expressed by Plu\u00adto may lead to a dif\u00adfi\u00adcult reck\u00adon\u00ading. The way through is to hon\u00ador what has worked but not to yield to those who mere\u00adly wield pow\u00ader with\u00adout hon\u00ador\u00ading their responsibilities.<\/p>\n

Jupiter Sex\u00adtile Nep\u00adtune (Jun. 8)<\/strong>
The cycle of Jupiter and Nep\u00adtune is about 12 to 13 years long. Their last con\u00adjunc\u00adtion was dur\u00ading 2009. With Jupiter pro\u00advid\u00ading the prin\u00adci\u00adples to guide our rela\u00adtion\u00adships, the align\u00adment to Nep\u00adtune in Aquar\u00adius cre\u00adat\u00aded a renewed sen\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty of com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty and com\u00adpas\u00adsion. It was no acci\u00addent that the biggest push to uni\u00adver\u00adsal health care in the US<\/span> was attempt\u00aded dur\u00ading this time.<\/p>\n

Now at the wax\u00ading sex\u00adtile on June 8, 2011 the more prac\u00adti\u00adcal work\u00ading out and man\u00adi\u00adfes\u00adta\u00adtion of this impulse is seen. What were once inti\u00adma\u00adtions, ideas and pro\u00adpos\u00adals have become real pat\u00adterns of how we now see we must relate to one anoth\u00ader. There is a sense that we have come to under\u00adstand that fol\u00adlow\u00ading the path of truth requires that we must con\u00adduct our affairs with tol\u00ader\u00adance, com\u00adpas\u00adsion and for\u00adgive\u00adness. This under\u00adstand\u00ading will be chal\u00adlenged, and we will have to choose which path to fol\u00adlow, a year lat\u00ader, in June 2012, when our present beliefs and dreams about our future face a test.<\/p>\n

Jupiter Trine Plu\u00adto (Jul. 7, Oct. 28, Mar. 13, 2012)<\/strong>
The cycle of Jupiter and Plu\u00adto moves into this more pos\u00adi\u00adtive phase for the next 9 months. Hav\u00ading faced the chal\u00adlenge in late Feb\u00adru\u00adary, we will find our\u00adselves able to expand more effort\u00adless\u00adly now in our mate\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal life and spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal under\u00adstand\u00ading. Because Jupiter has moved into Tau\u00adrus (Earth) and Plu\u00adto is in Capri\u00adcorn (Earth), this cre\u00adates very pos\u00adi\u00adtive con\u00addi\u00adtions for real eco\u00adnom\u00adic growth. Though there are always expand\u00ading and con\u00adtract\u00ading forces at play in any year, this is cer\u00adtain\u00adly a strong fac\u00adtor sup\u00adport\u00ading those areas that are capa\u00adble of growth, espe\u00adcial\u00adly those which have read the signs of change and adapt\u00aded. Spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly, to the extent the right choic\u00ades were made in Feb\u00adru\u00adary, the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty now is to bring about a real evo\u00adlu\u00adtion in our moral affir\u00adma\u00adtion of one anoth\u00ader. We are will\u00ading to seek accom\u00admo\u00adda\u00adtion with each oth\u00ader as an expres\u00adsion of our under\u00adstand\u00ading for one another.<\/p>\n

SOLAR<\/span> ECLIPSE<\/span>\/LUNAR<\/span> ECLIPSE<\/span> <\/strong>
The Solar and Lunar Eclipses pro\u00adduce effects that draw our atten\u00adtion to the lessons to be learned in the signs of their occur\u00adrence. In a way, they pro\u00advide an oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty, through dra\u00admat\u00adic and visu\u00adal excla\u00adma\u00adtion, to have a deep\u00ader expe\u00adri\u00adence and con\u00adnec\u00adtion to either a new release of ener\u00adgy (Solar) or rev\u00ade\u00adla\u00adtion of mean\u00ading (Lunar). Much more exten\u00adsive analy\u00adsis will be offered when the eclipses occur. Here is a sum\u00adma\u00adry of what to expect.<\/p>\n

Solar (Jan. 4)

Solar (Jun. 1)
<\/strong>The Solar Eclipse of June 1 her\u00adalds a new series of lessons for us since it occurs in Gem\u00adi\u00adni. The Lunar nodes are mov\u00ading from Cancer\/Capricorn to Gemini\/Sagittarius. Yes, that\u2019s right, these points in space move \u201cback\u00adwards\u201d through the Zodi\u00adac. They are estab\u00adlished by two inter\u00adsect\u00ading \u201cspheres\u201d formed from the orbital paths of the Earth around the Sun, and the Moon around the Earth. Where those two orbits inter\u00adsect is the time, every 6 months, where the Sun, Moon and Earth line up with one anoth\u00ader. This is what allows for there to be the phe\u00adnom\u00ade\u00adnon of the Moon\u2019s shad\u00adow pass\u00ading across the Earth (Solar Eclipse), or the shad\u00adow of the Earth pass\u00ading across the Moon (Lunar Eclipse).<\/p>\n

The June 1 Gem\u00adi\u00adni Solar Eclipse is say\u00ading that in order to use this new release of ener\u00adgy that comes at a New Moon, you will first have to go back and repair, cor\u00adrect or fin\u00adish some aspect of your think\u00ading. Gem\u00adi\u00adni rules intel\u00adli\u00adgence, but true intel\u00adli\u00adgence is found\u00aded upon crit\u00adi\u00adcal self-aware\u00adness. Just hav\u00ading the \u201cright\u201d answer does not make you spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly intel\u00adli\u00adgent; the real issue is, are you ask\u00ading the right question?<\/p>\n

Lunar (Jun. 15)

Jupiter Enters Aries (Jan. 22)<\/strong>
Jupiter has gone into and back out of Aries in the past year. Now until June, we feel the urge to race ahead because we want to be in the future already!<\/p>\n

Jupiter Enters Tau\u00adrus (Jun. 4)<\/strong>
Jupiter moves into Tau\u00adrus for a year on June 4. With sol\u00adid foun\u00adda\u00adtions and patience there is tan\u00adgi\u00adble progress now. There is steady growth, and phys\u00adi\u00adcal secu\u00adri\u00adty will increase for many. With the end of the Jupiter\/Saturn oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion, com\u00adbined with the trine of Jupiter and Plu\u00adto lat\u00ader, Jupiter in Tau\u00adrus should cre\u00adate a much more pos\u00adi\u00adtive result for those economies posi\u00adtioned to ben\u00ade\u00adfit. The gen\u00ader\u00adal US<\/span> eco\u00adnom\u00adic fore\u00adcast will be revised upward.<\/p>\n

Uranus Enters Aries (Mar. 11)<\/strong>
Just as with Jupiter, we have already had a taste of Uranus in Aries in 2010. Now the plan\u00adet of inde\u00adpen\u00addence, orig\u00adi\u00adnal\u00adi\u00adty and inven\u00adtive\u00adness moves into the first sign to stay for 7 years. The pre\u00advi\u00adous swing through Aries occurred from 1928 to 1934. Now that may look a lit\u00adtle omi\u00adnous to some, but there were many oth\u00ader fac\u00adtors con\u00adtribut\u00ading to the social and eco\u00adnom\u00adic dis\u00adrup\u00adtions that took place then.<\/p>\n

Uranus in Aries brings about sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant advances in sci\u00adence and tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy. There is an urgency and eager\u00adness to make new begin\u00adnings in many aspects of life. The pace of life quick\u00adens, but impa\u00adtience will also be stoked. The rise of pro\u00adgres\u00adsive lead\u00aders and move\u00adments advo\u00adcat\u00ading change will go head to head with the old order as Uranus and Plu\u00adto line up with one anoth\u00ader from 2012\u20132015.<\/p>\n

Nep\u00adtune Enters Pisces (Apr. 4, Aug. 4, Feb. 3, 2012)<\/strong>
Just as with Jupiter and Uranus last year, Nep\u00adtune dances back and forth between one sign and the next this year. It has been in Aquar\u00adius since 1998 and it will stay in Pisces start\u00ading next Feb\u00adru\u00adary 2012 until March 2025. This is a com\u00ading home event, since Nep\u00adtune is said to rule Pisces.<\/p>\n

The last time Nep\u00adtune was here was 1848 to 1862 and the pur\u00adsuit of dreams (and fan\u00adtasies) grew apace. In the US<\/span>, the west\u00adward expan\u00adsion was accel\u00ader\u00adat\u00aded as the vision of gold sparkled in the eyes of \u201cforty-nin\u00aders\u201d. The analy\u00adsis of a Natal or Birth Chart is famil\u00adiar to many of us. An astrologer will delin\u00adeate the char\u00adac\u00adter, oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties, chal\u00adlenges and life poten\u00adtials of their client. The astrologer will also use the tech\u00adnique we are about to use, Tran\u00adsits to Tran\u00adsits, as one major way of explain\u00ading to their client, what they have expe\u00adri\u00adenced, what is before them now, and what is like\u00adly to be encoun\u00adtered in the future.<\/p>\n

What Chart?<\/strong>
With an indi\u00advid\u00adual the deter\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtion of what con\u00adsti\u00adtutes the chart is fair\u00adly sim\u00adple; the chart is cal\u00adcu\u00adlat\u00aded for the moment the indi\u00advid\u00adual achieved \u201cinde\u00adpen\u00addent\u201d exis\u00adtence, the first breath. But what are we to do with a nation? Or when does a com\u00adpa\u00adny begin? And what hap\u00adpens when there are changes such as major shake\u00adup in gov\u00adern\u00adment or ruler\u00adship? Or when a com\u00adpa\u00adny merges or breaks apart? What is a mun\u00addane astrologer to do? Well, it is not easy, and there are no easy answers. <\/p>\n

Take for instance the Unit\u00aded States. Most of us would assume that the chart must be July 4, 1776. Okay, but what time of day, morn\u00ading, mid\u00adday, after\u00adnoon or evening? Well there are many dif\u00adfer\u00adent times that have been put forth and ana\u00adlyzed by astrologers. But some his\u00adto\u00adri\u00adans, and astrologers, argue for July 2 when the vote for inde\u00adpen\u00addence was made by the Con\u00adti\u00adnen\u00adtal Con\u00adgress. Some argue for the so-called Dec\u00adla\u00adra\u00adtion of War that was passed in a res\u00ado\u00adlu\u00adtion on July 6, 1775. Or some would date it from when \u201chos\u00adtil\u00adi\u00adties\u201d broke out at the Bat\u00adtle of Lex\u00ading\u00adton on April 19, 1775. Some will look back to the land\u00ading of the pil\u00adgrims in Decem\u00adber 1620!<\/p>\n

How\u00adev\u00ader the accept\u00aded and cel\u00ade\u00adbrat\u00aded \u201cbirth\u00adday\u201d for the US<\/span> is July 4, 1776. What time did it hap\u00adpen? There is evi\u00addence in writ\u00adten records, mem\u00adoirs and oral tra\u00addi\u00adtions for ear\u00adly morn\u00ading, mid-morn\u00ading, ear\u00adly after\u00adnoon, late after\u00adnoon and evening too\u2026So what is an astrologer to do?<\/p>\n

Well, we take a chart and then com\u00adpare what has hap\u00adpened in his\u00adto\u00adry with what the chart would indi\u00adcate for those events. We try and find what seems like a good or best match and work with that. Over time a chart seems to work and feel right\u2026but it is far from a set\u00adtled issue.<\/p>\n

Charts and Charts\u2026<\/strong>
Once we have a birth chart for a nation we ana\u00adlyze it and oth\u00ader charts to see how it and these oth\u00ader charts pre\u00addict the devel\u00adop\u00adments and chal\u00adlenges of that soci\u00adety. What oth\u00ader kinds of charts? We look at the charts of lead\u00aders such as pres\u00adi\u00addents or prime min\u00adis\u00adters, kings or queens, to see what the indi\u00adca\u00adtions are for their lead\u00ader\u00adship for that soci\u00adety in that peri\u00adod. Not only do we look at the indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adal\u2019s chart, but we also cast a chart for when they assume or take their oath of office. So, in the case of the US<\/span> now, we not only look at the chart for the US<\/span>, we also look at Barack Oba\u00adma\u2019s chart as well as a chart for when he was sworn in. We exam\u00adine Har\u00adry Rei\u00add\u2019s chart, and we looked at Nan\u00adcy Pelosi, to see how the House of Rep\u00adre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtives might fair, but now turn our atten\u00adtion to John Boehn\u00ader, all in order to see how the dynam\u00adics play out in our polit\u00adi\u00adcal system.<\/p>\n

We also look at oth\u00ader insti\u00adtu\u00adtion\u00adal charts. Again, with the US<\/span> as an exam\u00adple, we will look at the chart let\u2019s say of the Fed\u00ader\u00adal Reserve. Well, how do we know what is its birth date? Well, we do, the Fed\u00ader\u00adal Reserve came into exis\u00adtence at a spe\u00adcif\u00adic moment by law, and that becomes its birth chart.<\/p>\n

Then there are oth\u00ader charts that become sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant in under\u00adstand\u00ading the larg\u00ader world such as in the charts of busi\u00adness\u00ades or cor\u00adpo\u00adra\u00adtions. Well, when do they begin? Again, it depends. Some\u00adtimes we use a chart for when an enter\u00adprise first opened for busi\u00adness. Often\u00adtimes there are dates (some\u00adtimes with state seals and times!) of incor\u00adpo\u00adra\u00adtion. Many astrologers will use, if avail\u00adable, the chart of when a com\u00adpa\u00adny first began trad\u00ading on a stock exchange. Any and all of these can prove use\u00adful and accurate. <\/p>\n

And, just as in the polit\u00adi\u00adcal world, astrologers will exam\u00adine the birth charts of eco\u00adnom\u00adic and busi\u00adness lead\u00aders to see what else we might dis\u00adcern about the var\u00adi\u00adous enter\u00adpris\u00ades they are entrust\u00aded with.<\/p>\n

We will look at oth\u00ader indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adals and orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions too, such as notable per\u00adsons in the arts, sci\u00adence, edu\u00adca\u00adtion, med\u00adi\u00adcine, or to impor\u00adtant orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions like the UN<\/span> or World Bank, or maybe the Euro\u00adpean Union or the Euro, these and many oth\u00aders are exam\u00adined by Mun\u00addane Astrologers.<\/p>\n

But what hap\u00adpens when a nation changes sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant\u00adly, from one form of gov\u00adern\u00adment to anoth\u00ader? Or a com\u00adpa\u00adny merges or splits up. Well, we try and make use of what\u00adev\u00ader doc\u00adu\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion there is and cre\u00adate a new chart for that enti\u00adty. For exam\u00adple, though there has been a chart for Tunisia that we have employed to under\u00adstand what is hap\u00adpen\u00ading there now, that chart may cer\u00adtain\u00adly be super\u00adseded by a new form of gov\u00adern\u00adment and con\u00adsti\u00adtu\u00adtion, and a new chart.<\/p>\n

Often\u00adtimes we might have sev\u00ader\u00adal dif\u00adfer\u00adent charts we are look\u00ading at for the same nation or orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion. The mea\u00adsure of a chart is tak\u00aden by the accu\u00adra\u00adcy with which it explains the past and present cir\u00adcum\u00adstances. Then there is some degree of con\u00adfi\u00addence of what we can expect in the future.<\/p>\n

The March of His\u00adto\u00adry<\/strong>
But events, indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adals and orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtions are in a con\u00adstant state of change, so we must be alert and mind\u00adful of that and not become com\u00adpla\u00adcent. Astrol\u00ado\u00adgy is first and fore\u00admost a study of cycles. Each birth chart rep\u00adre\u00adsents a moment in time, and time is march\u00ading on. And so must we.\u2026So let\u2019s begin to take a look at what we might dis\u00adcov\u00ader from the analy\u00adsis of Tran\u00adsits to Natal, the tran\u00adsits to the birth charts of some notable nations and indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adals in the com\u00ading year. And dur\u00ading the year, we will take a look again at these and oth\u00ader actors on the stage of his\u00adto\u00adry. First up, let us exam\u00adine the Unit\u00aded States of America.<\/p>\n

Unit\u00aded States \u2014 Which chart?<\/strong>
The analy\u00adsis of the Unit\u00aded States requires that we stip\u00adu\u00adlate first which chart we are using. I have found that Dane Rud\u00adh\u00adyar\u2019s ver\u00adsion of the Sib\u00adley chart works well for me. It is set for July 4, 1776 at 5:14 pm in Philadel\u00adphia, PA<\/span> and has 13\u00b0 of Sagit\u00adtar\u00adius ris\u00ading. I will not endeav\u00ador here to give a \u201cread\u00ading\u201d on the char\u00adac\u00adter and chal\u00adlenges of the Unit\u00aded States as revealed in this chart, per\u00adhaps I will do some\u00adthing like that in a post\u00ading lat\u00ader this year. Here I want to focus upon the rel\u00ade\u00advant tran\u00adsits that explain what the US<\/span> is faced with in the com\u00ading year (and beyond). Often, to help illus\u00adtrate that, we will look back at oth\u00ader sim\u00adi\u00adlar times and align\u00adments to give us some rel\u00ade\u00advant frames of reference.<\/p>\n

Unit\u00aded States \u2014 2011 a look back first<\/strong>
An analy\u00adsis of what lies before the US<\/span> in this year imme\u00addi\u00adate\u00adly rais\u00ades the ques\u00adtion as to what have we just come through. After all, the expe\u00adri\u00adence of any enti\u00adty can\u00adnot be neat\u00adly divid\u00aded up by our notion of when a year begins and ends. More\u00adover, as many of you know, the align\u00adments in a chart may be in effect for much longer than one year as well. So, before we begin to look ahead we must look back. What have we just come through? What were we being asked as a nation to address? And, yes, what can we expect in the year ahead?<\/p>\n

(2009\u20132010) Plu\u00adto Oppos\u00ading Venus <\/strong>
Sev\u00ader\u00adal major tran\u00adsits were in effect for the Unit\u00aded States in 2010. One of these, Plu\u00adto in Oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion to Venus actu\u00adal\u00adly hap\u00adpened in 2009 and 2010. Plu\u00adto rules death and rebirth; it smash\u00ades apart what has out\u00adlived its time so that the rebuild\u00ading can take place. Venus rules val\u00adue, the notion of what is wor\u00adthy whether that be in terms of self-worth (or nation-worth) as well as out\u00adward phys\u00adi\u00adcal val\u00adues like in tan\u00adgi\u00adble assets. So, this align\u00adment of Plu\u00adto to Venus brought about a fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal tear\u00ading down of the old assump\u00adtions about US<\/span> val\u00adue and our real val\u00adues as embod\u00adied in our prop\u00ader\u00adties and busi\u00adness\u00ades. More\u00adover, Plu\u00adto rules the will and pow\u00ader\u00adful forces arrayed for and against one anoth\u00ader. Plu\u00adto oppos\u00ading Venus indi\u00adcat\u00aded a great strug\u00adgle over ques\u00adtions about, and the nature of, what are the val\u00adues of Amer\u00adi\u00adca. Well this sounds famil\u00adiar does\u00adn\u2019t it? We cer\u00adtain\u00adly went through a re-eval\u00adu\u00ada\u00adtion or our phys\u00adi\u00adcal assets, (land, stocks, bonds, com\u00adpa\u00adnies), as well as strug\u00adgled over the def\u00adi\u00adn\u00adi\u00adtion of exact\u00adly what is to be most val\u00adued about America.<\/p>\n

The last time Plu\u00adto went over Amer\u00adi\u00adca\u2019s Venus was 1972\u201373. The term \u201cStagfla\u00adtion\u201d was coined to describe a coun\u00adtry bur\u00addened by debts from the Viet\u00adnam War, while at the same time the Arab Oil embar\u00adgo stoked the fires of unimag\u00adined infla\u00adtion. Mean\u00adwhile, in the polit\u00adi\u00adcal are\u00adna, there was an inci\u00addent called \u201cWater\u00adgate\u201d that shook the foun\u00adda\u00adtions of and threat\u00adened the bal\u00adance of pow\u00ader between the Exec\u00adu\u00adtive, Leg\u00adisla\u00adtive and Judi\u00adcial branches.<\/p>\n

And, so too in this time, there have been major eco\u00adnom\u00adic shocks, as well as calls for a fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal rearrange\u00adment of the bal\u00adance of pow\u00ader between the states and the fed\u00ader\u00adal gov\u00adern\u00adment. Cycles repeat, but the sub\u00adstance of what our chal\u00adlenge is and the char\u00adac\u00adters that play across the stage of his\u00adto\u00adry change.<\/p>\n

(2009\u20132010) Sat\u00adurn Square Venus <\/strong>
While Plu\u00adto was oppos\u00ading Venus, Sat\u00adurn was at the same time Squar\u00ading Venus, (This was one of the Tran\u00adsits to Tran\u00adsits we looked at ear\u00adli\u00ader, of Sat\u00adurn Squar\u00ading Plu\u00adto, so that means what\u00adev\u00ader Plu\u00adto was affect\u00ading in any chart, so too would Sat\u00adurn). Sat\u00adurn last made this same square to Venus in 1980\u201381, a time of a severe down\u00adturn in the US<\/span> econ\u00ado\u00admy. With Venus rul\u00ading val\u00adue, beau\u00adty and love, the Unit\u00aded States was just not feel\u00ading very \u201clov\u00adable\u201d in 2009-10! Our sense of our worth, of our val\u00adue was dimin\u00adished. Real\u00adly, it was a time to reassess the whole ques\u00adtion of where does our val\u00adue as a nation come from, what do we have, what do we cre\u00adate, and how do we con\u00adsume val\u00adue? Cer\u00adtain\u00adly many, if not all of us, indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adal\u00adly and as a whole, have had to reassess our val\u00adues at this time.<\/p>\n

2011<\/strong>
Uranus Squares Venus (Apr. 18, Oct. 7, Feb. 28, 2012)<\/strong>
Well this is a whole New Year indeed! Excite\u00adment and stim\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtion is acti\u00advat\u00ading the plan\u00adet of val\u00adue this year. It is frothy, dare we say bub\u00adbly, and the last time Uranus made this pass, 1927\u201328, it was a heady time.\u2026but we were head\u00ading for a fall that few could imag\u00adine then. Will his\u00adto\u00adry repeat itself, no\u2026 Nev\u00ader! But we have to watch out; we must look back to see what chal\u00adlenges were encoun\u00adtered and oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties missed, and real\u00adize we will face new chal\u00adlenges and oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties that are appro\u00adpri\u00adate to our moment in time.<\/p>\n

Last time<\/strong>
The late 20\u2019s were a time of inven\u00adtive\u00adness and social exper\u00adi\u00admen\u00adta\u00adtion. Bound\u00adaries were being bro\u00adken, records were being set. Our imag\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtive bound\u00adaries were blown out\u00adward by the courage dis\u00adplayed, (and tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy used), in \u201cThe Spir\u00adit of St. Louis\u201d, as Lind\u00adbergh con\u00adnect\u00aded the new and old worlds. There was an influ\u00adence that was ener\u00adgiz\u00ading new rela\u00adtion\u00adships both between one anoth\u00ader, and in our nation\u2019s rela\u00adtion\u00adships with oth\u00ader nations. Our val\u00adues and self-worth (Venus), our prin\u00adci\u00adples, gen\u00aderos\u00adi\u00adty and good for\u00adtune (Jupiter) and our very being and pur\u00adpose (Sun), is revealed, real\u00adized and shared by the nature and qual\u00adi\u00adty of our rela\u00adtion\u00adships to one anoth\u00ader and with the world.<\/p>\n

A New Order<\/strong>
The found\u00ading fathers hint\u00aded at this, (and much more), when they put forth as the mot\u00adto of our coun\u00adtry, and which is inscribed on the Great Seal of The Unit\u00aded States, \u201cNovus Ordo Seclo\u00adrum\u201d which means \u201cA New Order for the Cen\u00adturies\u201d. They under\u00adstood that what they were cre\u00adat\u00ading was some\u00adthing new, some\u00adthing hereto\u00adfore unfa\u00admil\u00adiar because it rep\u00adre\u00adsent\u00aded a break with the past. Here, in this nation, we would come togeth\u00ader and freely deter\u00admine our rela\u00adtion\u00adships with one anoth\u00ader. We would sur\u00adren\u00adder all title and priv\u00adi\u00adleges, and stand as equals to one anoth\u00ader and be sub\u00adject to no King, or Prince, or Clan or Class, but to what we had all agreed upon as our com\u00adpact with one anoth\u00ader. This sacred com\u00adpact is sealed and pro\u00adtect\u00aded by the one and only true ruler in Amer\u00adi\u00adca, the Rule of Law, (which is why the US<\/span> has Sat\u00adurn (order), in Libra (scales of jus\u00adtice) in our 10th house (author\u00adi\u00adty). In the Unit\u00aded States, the law is King, no one is above the law.<\/p>\n

Embod\u00adied in our \u201cLaw\u201d are the val\u00adues that we have so far evolved to in our con\u00adduct with one anoth\u00ader. Those val\u00adues are made into rules which we have agreed upon, so that we know how we are expect\u00aded to con\u00adduct our\u00adselves with regard to one anoth\u00ader. In oth\u00ader words, we have estab\u00adlished these laws as the crys\u00adtal\u00adlized form of val\u00adues with and between one another.<\/p>\n

But unlike some, who believe that those orig\u00adi\u00adnal laws, our first rules, the Con\u00adsti\u00adtu\u00adtion, to be a fin\u00adished piece and not to be altered, most of us find that the sto\u00adry of human ful\u00adfill\u00adment is an unfold\u00ading one that is far from over. And, so, we must keep improv\u00ading upon and adding to our val\u00adues and our rules. The Found\u00ading Fathers knew this work was not fin\u00adished or done with them. They sought to go beyond what had been, yet they could not reach or agree beyond a cer\u00adtain under\u00adstand\u00ading. They strug\u00adgled over issues and did not over\u00adcome some of their own chal\u00adlenges, and so left it to oth\u00ader gen\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtions to face the glar\u00ading injus\u00adtices embod\u00adied in our first set of \u201crules\u201d. How could it be otherwise?<\/p>\n

Our Chal\u00adlenge, Our Oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty
<\/strong>In 2011 the chal\u00adlenge we face is to exam\u00adine to what extent we are ready, will\u00ading and able to ful\u00adfill and incor\u00adpo\u00adrate the mes\u00adsage of Uranus into Venus. Uranus in Aries is shap\u00ading our Venus in Can\u00adcer by chal\u00adleng\u00ading us to con\u00adduct our\u00adselves at the next nec\u00ades\u00adsary lev\u00adel of indi\u00advid\u00adual ful\u00adfill\u00adment and social inte\u00adgra\u00adtion. There are always forces, (and dis\u00adtrac\u00adtions), pulling us apart and draw\u00ading us together.<\/p>\n

Venus in Can\u00adcer speaks from the Truth that we must hon\u00ador where we have come from; we must remain and find val\u00adue in our com\u00admon her\u00aditage and so secure and bind our\u00adselves one to anoth\u00ader. Uranus in Aries is chal\u00adleng\u00ading Venus as to exact\u00adly what con\u00adsti\u00adtutes \u201croots\u201d or \u201cher\u00aditage\u201d or \u201csecu\u00adri\u00adty\u201d.<\/p>\n

There is a con\u00adstant ten\u00adsion between our nation\u2019s desire to return to a sim\u00adpler time, to our root val\u00adues (Venus), and the inces\u00adsant force of spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal (and tech\u00adni\u00adcal) advance\u00adment dri\u00adving us for\u00adward into new expres\u00adsions of val\u00adue (Uranus). The answer is to be found in hon\u00ador\u00ading the spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal essence of our roots, our com\u00admon her\u00aditage and val\u00adue that binds us one to anoth\u00ader, (but not being bound to the mere let\u00adter or the law or form of that val\u00adue), while at the same time inte\u00adgrat\u00ading into those val\u00adues a new under\u00adstand\u00ading of the mes\u00adsage of Uranus in Aries which hon\u00adors, affirms and asserts the essen\u00adtial dig\u00adni\u00adty of the indi\u00advid\u00adual with\u00adin the group order, (with\u00adout going so far in assert\u00ading \u201cindi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adal\u00adism\u201d that we break our social con\u00adtract with one another).<\/p>\n

Of course, to many who have seen the abus\u00ades of pow\u00ader, and the manip\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtion of the law to serve the pow\u00ader\u00adful and not defend the weak\u00adest of us, to many the hope that we can restore let alone move for\u00adward the dream of Amer\u00adi\u00adca and its essen\u00adtial val\u00adue or worth seems dis\u00adtant at best. Just as in the late 1920\u2019s, we too now find our\u00adselves at a moment in his\u00adto\u00adry where the great\u00adest inequities exist in the dis\u00adtri\u00adb\u00adu\u00adtion of the wealth in Amer\u00adi\u00adca, a val\u00adue that we all have cre\u00adat\u00aded with and through one another.<\/p>\n

Nature, (and Spir\u00adit), move what\u00adev\u00ader ordered sys\u00adtem from a state of imbal\u00adance to bal\u00adance. It seems most sys\u00adtems have \u201cmech\u00ada\u00adnisms\u201d inte\u00adgral to their nature that bring about a re-bal\u00adanc\u00ading even\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly. In our social order we must find our way back to \u201cnor\u00admal\u201d by being coura\u00adgeous enough to face what we have wrought and bring us back and for\u00adward to a bet\u00adter world, before the forces in and around us bring about a more painful, because \u201cforced\u201d, adjustment.<\/p>\n

Time to Act
<\/strong>We have a choice.\u2026but not for long. For there are more align\u00adments hap\u00adpen\u00ading in the world gen\u00ader\u00adal\u00adly, (those Tran\u00adsits to Tran\u00adsits) and to our coun\u00adtry specif\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly (Tran\u00adsits to Natal), that are to meet us this year and in the next many years to come. We have a des\u00adtiny, but we must under\u00adstand, decide and act as those brave men (and women) act\u00aded in their hour of deci\u00adsion in 1776.<\/p>\n

First, we must face what is here before us now; there is more that we must under\u00adstand about the forces bring\u00ading about the changes we will grow through in 2011. So let us turn our atten\u00adtion to the great\u00adest of these in the next post\u00ading, the align\u00adment of Plu\u00adto with Jupiter. Then we will look at some oth\u00ader less\u00ader, though no less impor\u00adtant, align\u00adments for 2011.<\/p>\n

In 2011 we face anoth\u00ader, per\u00adhaps our great\u00adest, chal\u00adlenge and oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty, the Oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion of Plu\u00adto to our Jupiter. Jupiter rules the prin\u00adci\u00adples, beliefs and laws of a nation. Venus is the val\u00adue \u201cbehind\u201d the law, but Jupiter is the law itself as well as oth\u00ader embod\u00adi\u00adments of what we have dis\u00adcov\u00adered to be \u201cTrue\u201d, as in Sci\u00adence, Phi\u00adlos\u00ado\u00adphy and Reli\u00adgion. Jupiter also rules how we relate to one anoth\u00ader and to the rest of the world. Essen\u00adtial\u00adly, Jupiter does this because it rules the beliefs we hold that deter\u00admine our atti\u00adtudes and actions towards one anoth\u00ader and the world.<\/p>\n

Plu\u00adto rules the pow\u00ader of trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion, of death and rebirth and the great strug\u00adgle of pow\u00aders with one anoth\u00ader as they exer\u00adcise their will. The oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion of Plu\u00adto to Jupiter sig\u00adni\u00adfies a great moment in our his\u00adto\u00adry when we must make absolute\u00adly clear, (the oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion should be the moment of rev\u00ade\u00adla\u00adtion), what are the prin\u00adci\u00adples we under\u00adstand, stand upon and project out among our\u00adselves and into the world as a nation. To help us see how this might play out in 2011, let us look at Plu\u00adto\u2019s pre\u00advi\u00adous tran\u00adsits of our Jupiter.<\/p>\n

Plu\u00adto\u2019s pre\u00advi\u00adous align\u00adments to Jupiter<\/strong><\/p>\n

1827\u201329
<\/strong>The pre\u00advi\u00adous align\u00adments of Plu\u00adto with Jupiter may pro\u00advide us with some insight as to what is being demand\u00aded of us now. The first tran\u00adsit of Plu\u00adto to Jupiter was a square that last\u00aded from 1827 to 1829. Dur\u00ading this peri\u00adod a fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal shift in the char\u00adac\u00adter of the Nation was expe\u00adri\u00adenced as exem\u00adpli\u00adfied by the begin\u00adning of the era of Andrew Jack\u00adson, which her\u00adald\u00aded the end of the so-called \u201cera of good feel\u00adings\u201d and the re-emer\u00adgence of par\u00adti\u00adsan pol\u00adi\u00adtics. An exam\u00adple of this, and one of Jack\u00adson\u2019s sig\u00adna\u00adture accom\u00adplish\u00adments, was to do away with the US<\/span> cen\u00adtral bank at that time, (sound famil\u00adiar Mr. Bernanke?), as he stood for the \u201ccom\u00admon man\u201d against the wealthy spe\u00adcial interests.<\/p>\n

1918\u201320
<\/strong>The next tran\u00adsit of Plu\u00adto to Jupiter was a con\u00adjunc\u00adtion from 1918 to 1920. Pres\u00adi\u00addent Woodrow Wilson\u2019s vision of what the world should be after the deba\u00adcle of World War I fell on deaf ears, both at home in Con\u00adgress, and with the world lead\u00aders who met at Ver\u00adsailles, France. Amer\u00adi\u00adcan ide\u00adal\u00adism, as embod\u00adied in Wilson\u2019s view of a new world order, the putting forth of our \u201ctruth\u201d (Jupiter), was reject\u00aded by the old guard in Europe and at home. 1973\u201374<\/strong>
The last tran\u00adsit of Plu\u00adto to Jupiter was a square from 1973\u20131974. As before, Plu\u00adto\u2019s trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion\u00adal ener\u00adgies as well as its sig\u00adna\u00adture effect to bring about a great strug\u00adgle of wills played out in var\u00adi\u00adous spheres of Amer\u00adi\u00adcan life and with the World. Polit\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly this was exem\u00adpli\u00adfied by Water\u00adgate and the fall from pow\u00ader of a pres\u00adi\u00addent for the first time in our his\u00adto\u00adry. Social\u00adly, one of the most divi\u00adsive issues to this day was enact\u00aded into law in a Supreme Court deci\u00adsion that pro\u00adtects, as a pri\u00advate deci\u00adsion, a wom\u00adan\u2019s right to decide the ques\u00adtion of abortion.<\/p>\n

In inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal mat\u00adters, seem\u00ading\u00adly, one could argue, as a some kind of karmic coun\u00adter\u00adpoint to the attempt by the US<\/span> to pro\u00admote and push its vision at Ver\u00adsailles in 1918\u201320, the strug\u00adgle in the Mid-East and the Arab-Israeli con\u00adflicts led to the Arab Oil embar\u00adgo, as OPEC<\/span> attempt\u00aded to force Amer\u00adi\u00adca and oth\u00ader West\u00adern pow\u00aders to yield to their point of view by chok\u00ading off the life-blood of what dri\u00adves the mod\u00adern world economy.<\/p>\n

2011 Plu\u00adto Oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion to Jupiter
<\/strong>So what is to be our oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty and chal\u00adlenge this year? What are we faced with as a nation inter\u00adnal\u00adly, and what is the nature of our coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion or strug\u00adgle with oth\u00ader will\u00adful mem\u00adbers of the world of nations? It seems that at each align\u00adment of Plu\u00adto with our Jupiter, we as a nation are chal\u00adlenged to relate to one anoth\u00ader with or through a new under\u00adstand\u00ading. Like\u00adwise, at each align\u00adment there seems to be a sim\u00adi\u00adlar demand to shift the man\u00adner in which we relate to the world around us.<\/p>\n

Inter\u00adnal\u00adly
<\/strong>With\u00adin our bor\u00adders, the fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal ques\u00adtion of the bal\u00adance of pow\u00aders between the Fed\u00ader\u00adal gov\u00adern\u00adment and the States, a ques\u00adtion that has been put before us again and again, is cer\u00adtain\u00adly a key aspect of the strug\u00adgle over our prin\u00adci\u00adples now. As Venus rules our val\u00adues, Jupiter rules those val\u00adues in oper\u00ada\u00adtion, seen in our prin\u00adci\u00adples of con\u00adduct between one anoth\u00ader which we have cer\u00adti\u00adfied, agreed to and cod\u00adi\u00adfied into the Law of the land.<\/p>\n

Where\u00adas the Plu\u00adto oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion to Venus raised this ques\u00adtion in a per\u00adson\u00adal man\u00adner in 2009-10, (the strug\u00adgle over val\u00adues was per\u00adson\u00adal\u00adized in the crescen\u00addo of rhetoric that bor\u00addered on scream\u00ading \u201cFire\u201d in a crowd\u00aded the\u00adatre at times), Plu\u00adto oppos\u00ading Jupiter will now move these same ques\u00adtions to the stage of an argu\u00adment over prin\u00adci\u00adples, over \u201cthe truth\u201d, which will lead to a strug\u00adgle over our rules of con\u00adduct, over the law itself. Cer\u00adtain\u00adly, one exam\u00adple of this strug\u00adgle is the attempt to pro\u00advide some form of uni\u00adver\u00adsal med\u00adical cov\u00ader\u00adage for all Amer\u00adi\u00adcans, with the imme\u00addi\u00adate reac\u00adtion among a num\u00adber of states to chal\u00adlenge and seek to void that Fed\u00ader\u00adal statute. This con\u00adflict will ulti\u00admate\u00adly lead to a Supreme Court deci\u00adsion that will cer\u00adtain\u00adly please only part of the population.<\/p>\n

Echo\u00ading the Jack\u00adson\u00adian era, the calls to \u201creign in\u201d or \u201cdo away\u201d with the Fed\u00ader\u00adal Reserve Bank could shake the finan\u00adcial mar\u00adkets as new uncer\u00adtain\u00adties are added to the eco\u00adnom\u00adic order still recov\u00ader\u00ading from the shock of 2008-09. Yet the Fed\u00ader\u00adal Reserve chart seems to indi\u00adcate that it may have weath\u00adered that storm for now. This sto\u00adry seems more of con\u00adve\u00adnient dis\u00adtrac\u00adtion to turn atten\u00adtion away from a big\u00adger story.<\/p>\n

Veiled behind the front of pop\u00adulist fer\u00advor, pow\u00ader\u00adful cor\u00adpo\u00adra\u00adtions led by finan\u00adcial cap\u00adi\u00adtal seek to turn back any attempt to impose any sen\u00adsi\u00adble reg\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtion on \u201cthe mar\u00adket\u201d, whose fevered bub\u00adble burst\u00ading we have yet to recov\u00ader from. The calls to bring to \u201cJus\u00adtice\u201d (Jupiter) those who led us over the precipice have been met by the manip\u00adu\u00adla\u00adtion by the pow\u00ader\u00adful (Plu\u00adto) as we are all made to feel guilty (Plu\u00adto) since, \u201cwell, did\u00adn\u2019t we all behave badly?\u201d<\/p>\n

Will the oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion of Plu\u00adto to Jupiter smash through the \u201csmoke and mir\u00adrors\u201d and reveal the depths of deceit by those who have been entrust\u00aded to pre\u00adserve and pro\u00adtect our val\u00adues; or will Plu\u00adto\u2019s pow\u00ader to veil the truth by those who can and will manip\u00adu\u00adlate the sys\u00adtem lead us from this last cri\u00adsis into the next \u201cbig one\u201d in the not too dis\u00adtant future? This is one of the ques\u00adtions that must be addressed as the Unit\u00aded States strug\u00adgles to bal\u00adance Jupiter (Truth) and Plu\u00adto (Pow\u00ader). Truth is Pow\u00ader, but Pow\u00ader can cor\u00adrupt the truth. Which will it be?<\/p>\n

Exter\u00adnal\u00adly
<\/strong>Chal\u00adlenges from abroad may bring some of our inter\u00adnal strug\u00adgles into focus. Cer\u00adtain\u00adly, the pow\u00ader of the indi\u00advid\u00adual to chal\u00adlenge the larg\u00ader order, (by dig\u00adging into the secret depths (Plu\u00adto) of any sys\u00adtem), by expos\u00ading \u201cthe Truth\u201d (Jupiter), has played out this last year (and into this one) with the phe\u00adnom\u00ade\u00adnon known as Wik\u00adileaks. Although many of us have been made aware of the rev\u00ade\u00adla\u00adtions about Iraq and Afghanistan poli\u00adcies that were con\u00adtained in diplo\u00admat\u00adic and mil\u00adi\u00adtary doc\u00adu\u00adments, there are oth\u00ader rev\u00ade\u00adla\u00adtions that have been promised that expose malfea\u00adsance or cor\u00adrup\u00adtion in the eco\u00adnom\u00adic cen\u00adters of pow\u00ader. Per\u00adhaps this will not indi\u00adrect\u00adly expose some play\u00aders clos\u00ader to home.<\/p>\n

Where\u00adas in 1918\u201320 the the\u00adatre for will\u00adful strug\u00adgle played out between a ris\u00ading Amer\u00adi\u00adca and the old world of Euro\u00adpean pow\u00aders, and the 1973\u201374 bat\u00adtle of wills fea\u00adtured an Amer\u00adi\u00adca as a super\u00adpow\u00ader fac\u00ading its very real vul\u00adner\u00ada\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty over the con\u00adtrol of oil, it would appear that the \u201ctest of wills and prin\u00adci\u00adples\u201d in this peri\u00adod may fea\u00adture an Amer\u00adi\u00adca that has stum\u00adbled won\u00adder\u00ading how it might hold its own against a new pow\u00ader assert\u00ading itself in the East. We have become a debtor nation whose \u201ccon\u00adsumer\u201d soci\u00adety depends upon the will\u00ading\u00adness of our provider of goods to keep extend\u00ading us cred\u00adit. We wish to pro\u00admote our Truth (Jupiter), but there seems lit\u00adtle Pow\u00ader (Plu\u00adto) behind it. To many it seems our time for \u201cgreat\u00adness\u201d is past, and that we are in decline and that we do not under\u00adstand how or why this has happened.<\/p>\n

Our True Source of Strength and Val\u00adue<\/strong>
To begin to under\u00adstand, we must come back to the Natal or birth chart and remem\u00adber that Amer\u00adi\u00adca\u2019s great\u00adest strength, (with the two \u201cbenefics\u201d of Astrol\u00ado\u00adgy, Venus and Jupiter, Val\u00adues and Prin\u00adci\u00adples, in the 7th house of rela\u00adtion\u00adship), is to be found in our great gen\u00aderos\u00adi\u00adty of spir\u00adit towards one anoth\u00ader and the rest of the world. Our strength, our real wealth, lies in our con\u00adtin\u00adu\u00ading con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtion to the evo\u00adlu\u00adtion of a greater spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal under\u00adstand\u00ading of the mys\u00adtery and pow\u00ader of freely formed rela\u00adtion\u00adships with one another.<\/p>\n

The dynam\u00adic, quick\u00aden\u00ading nature of these vol\u00adun\u00adtary rela\u00adtion\u00adships, the very spe\u00adcial \u201cfree\u201d asso\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtions that were observed by de Toc\u00adqueville in the 1830\u2019s in his \u201cDemoc\u00adra\u00adcy in Amer\u00adi\u00adca\u201d, have been a chal\u00adlenge for us through\u00adout our his\u00adto\u00adry. We seek to find a way to bal\u00adance the efforts to ful\u00adfill our selves as unique indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adals, (to be \u201cfree\u201d), while, at the same time, we must hon\u00ador, sup\u00adport and sac\u00adri\u00adfice for one anoth\u00ader in those very asso\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtions we have with each oth\u00ader. To some who may believe in a form of \u201cabsolute lib\u00ader\u00adtar\u00adi\u00adan\u00adism\u201d, we must under\u00adstand that you can\u00adnot be alone to do what\u00adev\u00ader you want and be free. Free\u00addom is a social real\u00adi\u00adty that is cre\u00adat\u00aded through mutu\u00adal under\u00adstand\u00ading, tol\u00ader\u00adance and for\u00adgive\u00adness; it is found\u00aded upon the knowl\u00adedge that our true poten\u00adtials are dis\u00adcov\u00adered, expressed and extend\u00aded through our mutu\u00adal sup\u00adport of one another.<\/p>\n

Where two or more are gath\u00adered togeth\u00ader, acknowl\u00adedg\u00ading their unique\u00adness, yet seek\u00ading through their asso\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtion to devel\u00adop one anoth\u00ader in and through that relationship\u2026there is Free\u00addom. Not free\u00addom \u201cfrom\u201d some\u00adthing, but Free\u00addom \u201cto\u201d become what we will be. We are not human beings; we are tru\u00adly human becom\u00adings. Our Chal\u00adlenge Now
<\/strong>Plu\u00adto oppos\u00ading Jupiter asks noth\u00ading less of us than to under\u00adstand, tru\u00adly under\u00adstand and artic\u00adu\u00adlate, our shared root prin\u00adci\u00adples that we must now affirm and ask each of us to hon\u00ador and ful\u00adfill. Plu\u00adto will force this as we expe\u00adri\u00adence the exer\u00adcise (or mis-exer\u00adcise) of pow\u00ader either with\u00adin our coun\u00adtry, or between us and anoth\u00ader nation. This dra\u00adma will play out as a con\u00adfronta\u00adtion of Will or Pow\u00ader (Plu\u00adto) with Truth or Prin\u00adci\u00adples (Jupiter). It will appear \u201cout there\u201d, but the true strug\u00adgle and hope for us all rests upon each and every one of us to do the work with\u00adin ourselves.<\/p>\n

What each of us must do is look with\u00adin and find what values\/principles bind us one to anoth\u00ader; and seek, affirm and secure our foun\u00adda\u00adtions in one anoth\u00ader. Anoth\u00ader approach to under\u00adstand\u00ading what has hap\u00adpened and what may hap\u00adpen to any orga\u00adni\u00adza\u00adtion is by exam\u00adin\u00ading the plan\u00ade\u00adtary align\u00adments in the lead\u00ader\u00adship. As I men\u00adtioned in Part 3 of the 2011 Gen\u00ader\u00adal Fore\u00adcast<\/a>, Mun\u00addane or World\u00adly Astrol\u00ado\u00adgy will not only look to the con\u00addi\u00adtions in a nation\u00adal chart or com\u00adpa\u00adny chart, but will also look at the plan\u00ade\u00adtary indi\u00adca\u00adtions in the charts of its lead\u00aders as well. This tra\u00addi\u00adtion is very ancient and astrologers at the courts of kings and emper\u00adors would fol\u00adlow the pre\u00adcept that \u201cas the king\u2019s for\u00adtunes go, so goes the king\u00addom\u201d. So, for the Unit\u00aded States at this time, what can we dis\u00adcern about its future from the indi\u00adca\u00adtions in Barack Oba\u00adma\u2019s chart?<\/p>\n

It is not my inten\u00adtion here to ana\u00adlyze Barack Oba\u00adma\u2019s chart except inso\u00adfar as to point out the rel\u00ade\u00advant fea\u00adtures that are being acti\u00advat\u00aded by tran\u00adsits at this time. <\/sub>Per\u00adhaps, at a lat\u00ader date, we will come back and take a more thor\u00adough look at what his chart indi\u00adcates for him (and us). The most impor\u00adtant facts to note are that he is a Leo, with a Moon in Gem\u00adi\u00adni and he has Aquar\u00adius rising.<\/p>\n

Just as in the analy\u00adsis of the USA<\/span> chart<\/a>, we can\u00adnot look ahead at 2011 with\u00adout look\u00ading back to what the US<\/span> Pres\u00adi\u00addent has just expe\u00adri\u00adenced, (and we, in a very real sense, expe\u00adri\u00adenced through him).<\/p>\n

<\/strong>In 2010 there were, of course, many align\u00adments in Barack Oba\u00adma\u2019s chart, but what were the most sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant? We do not want to minute\u00adly exam\u00adine each con\u00adfig\u00adu\u00adra\u00adtion; we want to see what were the major themes invoked dur\u00ading the year. More\u00adover, we need to look at these major align\u00adments with ref\u00ader\u00adence to what they indi\u00adcate about his expe\u00adri\u00adence as the head of a nation and not in terms of his per\u00adson\u00adal life or experience.<\/p>\n

Plu\u00adto Incon\u00adjunct Oba\u00adma\u2019s Moon (Jan. 2, Jul. 26, Oct. 31)
<\/strong>Plu\u00adto incon\u00adjunct the Moon will bring about a chal\u00adleng\u00ading expe\u00adri\u00adence for a leader as they seek to con\u00adnect with, relate to and mir\u00adror the mood of their time. The moon rules \u201cthe pub\u00adlic\u201d or the peo\u00adple in mun\u00addane astrol\u00ado\u00adgy and is reflec\u00adtive of pub\u00adlic opin\u00adion and beliefs. The tran\u00adsit of Plu\u00adto would have cre\u00adat\u00aded a kind of dis\u00adcon\u00adnect between the pub\u00adlic and Oba\u00adma. He would have expe\u00adri\u00adenced a sense that there were ener\u00adgies or forces in play (Plu\u00adto) that were mak\u00ading it hard for the peo\u00adple to con\u00adnect with him, and he with them. Plu\u00adto would indi\u00adcate that this was caused by a cathar\u00adtic release of very deep ener\u00adgies from the col\u00adlec\u00adtive uncon\u00adscious, with par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar empha\u00adsis on mat\u00adters about pow\u00ader and con\u00adtrol. The chal\u00adlenge for Oba\u00adma would have been nei\u00adther to \u201close\u201d con\u00adtrol, nor become \u201cover\u201d con\u00adtrol\u00adling. Instead, the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty would have been to reestab\u00adlish a healthy bal\u00adance between his own will and self-con\u00adtrol as he grap\u00adpled with the forces being unleashed from the col\u00adlec\u00adtive. At the same time Oba\u00adma would have gained more insight into the attempt by ele\u00adments in soci\u00adety to assert their con\u00adtrol, (often through hid\u00adden means (Plu\u00adto) or sub\u00adterfuge), as those ele\u00adments attempt\u00aded to sway the feel\u00adings (mood) of the pub\u00adlic. The aspect would have demand\u00aded the utmost in intel\u00adli\u00adgence, tol\u00ader\u00adance and humil\u00adi\u00adty as he dealt with often inchoate forces bub\u00adbling up from deep with\u00adin the Amer\u00adi\u00adcan psyche. <\/p>\n

Nep\u00adtune Con\u00adjunct Oba\u00adma\u2019s Lunar South Node (Mar. 18, Aug. 20, Jan. 18, 2011)
<\/strong>Nep\u00adtune pass\u00ading over Oba\u00adma\u2019s Lunar South Node might not seem to be such a sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant tran\u00adsit to some. How\u00adev\u00ader, when we take into account the fact that it also the exact same posi\u00adtion of the Moon in the chart of the Unit\u00aded States, well then our atten\u00adtion should be riveted.<\/p>\n

This align\u00adment reveals that one of the sig\u00adna\u00adture tran\u00adsits for 2010-11 in the US<\/span> chart (that I did not ana\u00adlyze in pre\u00advi\u00adous entries) was the Con\u00adjunc\u00adtion of Nep\u00adtune to the Moon in the US<\/span> chart. I did this because I thought it would be more inter\u00adest\u00ading to see these two tran\u00adsit events togeth\u00ader, (Nep\u00adtune Con\u00adjunct US<\/span> Moon, Nep\u00adtune con\u00adjunct Oba\u00adma\u2019s South Node), so as to bet\u00adter illus\u00adtrate what it indi\u00adcat\u00aded for the US<\/span> in 2010 on into the begin\u00adning of 2011.<\/p>\n

US<\/span> Moon<\/strong>
The Aquar\u00adi\u00adan Moon in the US<\/span> chart is very sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant; espe\u00adcial\u00adly since it is the plan\u00ade\u00adtary ruler of the Sun Sign (Can\u00adcer) and for the oth\u00ader plan\u00adets in Can\u00adcer which are Mer\u00adcury, Venus and Jupiter. This means that the Can\u00adcer ener\u00adgies of the US<\/span> are tuned to an Aquar\u00adi\u00adan sensibility.<\/p>\n

The Moon rep\u00adre\u00adsents the peo\u00adple of a nation\u2019s chart, so the defin\u00ading fea\u00adture of the Amer\u00adi\u00adcan peo\u00adple and its mass con\u00adscious\u00adness will reflect Aquar\u00adi\u00adan traits. The Aquar\u00adi\u00adan tem\u00adpera\u00adment is one that endows that being with a tremen\u00addous need to be unique, inde\u00adpen\u00addent and free; while at the same time cre\u00adat\u00ading an equal\u00adly strong desire to be part of some asso\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtion or group whose vision and ideals are direct\u00aded towards bring\u00ading about a bet\u00adter world. The US<\/span> Moon in Aquar\u00adius helps cre\u00adate the dis\u00adtin\u00adguish\u00ading fea\u00adture at the found\u00ading of this coun\u00adtry, that true friends (Aquar\u00adius) come togeth\u00ader in fel\u00adlow\u00adship to help sup\u00adport one anoth\u00ader in the real\u00adiza\u00adtion of one anoth\u00ader\u2019s hopes, dreams and aspirations.<\/p>\n

These ideals can either take the form of an Aquar\u00adi\u00adan dream to go back to a \u201cgold\u00aden age\u201d or seek to leap ahead to the next, (and that is why it is said that Aquar\u00adi\u00adans are either 50 years behind or 50 years ahead of their time). They feel them\u00adselves to be spe\u00adcial and apart, yet wish to bring about this vision of a bet\u00adter world; the para\u00addox being that in the very unique con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtions that they offer to the present time they end up reaf\u00adfirm\u00ading that they are, well, different.<\/p>\n

It would cer\u00adtain\u00adly seem that among the many of the dis\u00adtin\u00adguish\u00ading fea\u00adtures of the Amer\u00adi\u00adcan peo\u00adple the one that stands out is their dis\u00adtinct sense of being spe\u00adcial; whether it be the Pil\u00adgrims seek\u00ading to cre\u00adate a \u201cNew Jerusalem\u201d, or the Found\u00ading Fathers cre\u00adat\u00ading a \u201cNew Order for the Cen\u00adturies\u201d, or the west\u00adward migra\u00adtion dri\u00adven by the call of a \u201cMan\u00adi\u00adfest Des\u00adtiny\u201d, or the feel\u00ading that it is \u201cMorn\u00ading in Amer\u00adi\u00adca again\u201d, time and time again there has been this sense that the place and pur\u00adpose of Amer\u00adi\u00adca is spe\u00adcial. That this was the nation that would \u201cbreak\u201d the bonds of the past and offer a place where any\u00adone could become what\u00adev\u00ader they want\u00aded to be; here is where a per\u00adson could rein\u00advent them\u00adselves and pur\u00adsue their dreams. <\/p>\n

Oba\u00adma\u2019s South Node<\/strong>
The South Node in any\u00adone\u2019s chart rep\u00adre\u00adsents what many might call \u201ckar\u00adma\u201d. (Though, in a more exact under\u00adstand\u00ading, one should call the whole chart one\u2019s kar\u00adma). The South Node is what the soul brings in from many past lives, a mix\u00adture of the feel\u00adings, thoughts, actions and inac\u00adtions gath\u00adered togeth\u00ader now into this life. It rep\u00adre\u00adsents the accu\u00admu\u00adla\u00adtion of one\u2019s habit\u00adu\u00adal way of being, the path that is eas\u00adi\u00adest to take.<\/p>\n

The present life is found\u00aded upon this accu\u00admu\u00adlat\u00aded expe\u00adri\u00adence, but can also be lim\u00adit\u00aded by it. We need to draw upon our past pat\u00adterns to help us now, but if we uncon\u00adscious\u00adly do so and fail to ful\u00adfill our chal\u00adlenge to grow, then the South Node will indi\u00adcate how the soul will hold itself back from its oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties to devel\u00adop spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly now, a devel\u00adop\u00adment that is indi\u00adcat\u00aded by their Dhar\u00adma (as revealed by the North Node). The South Node should be a foun\u00adda\u00adtion for new growth in this life, as the North Node will indi\u00adcate how the soul might best accom\u00adplish their devel\u00adop\u00adment in this life.<\/p>\n

Oba\u00adma\u2019s Kar\u00adma<\/strong>
Oba\u00adma\u2019s South Node is in Aquar\u00adius and is placed in his First House. (Which means his North Node is in Leo in his 7th House). The Aquar\u00adi\u00adan South Node pre\u00addis\u00adpos\u00ades him to have a default response to detach him\u00adself from his sur\u00adround\u00adings, to be aloof and cere\u00adbral, to be dif\u00adfer\u00adent. The capac\u00adi\u00adty to be com\u00admit\u00adted to social ideals and human advance\u00adment is very strong; his chal\u00adlenge is to under\u00adstand the demands of right lead\u00ader\u00adship, how to inspire oth\u00aders to believe in them\u00adselves by stay\u00ading con\u00adnect\u00aded and not detach\u00ading. The place\u00adment in his First House indi\u00adcates that his true path in life is to be involved in bring\u00ading his Aquar\u00adi\u00adan past under\u00adstand\u00ading of social con\u00adscious\u00adness into all of his rela\u00adtion\u00adships; Oba\u00adma\u2019s life is to be a life devot\u00aded to oth\u00aders. The more he can \u201cfor\u00adget\u201d him\u00adself and help oth\u00aders to believe in their dreams, then to that same extent will he real\u00adize the Dharmic Truth of Leo that a leader must sac\u00adri\u00adfice the ego in order to ful\u00adfill their true life\u2019s work.<\/p>\n

Nep\u00adtune Con\u00adjunct Amer\u00adi\u00adca\u2019s Moon &<\/span> Nep\u00adtune Con\u00adjunct Oba\u00adma\u2019s Lunar South Node
<\/strong>With Nep\u00adtune, the ruler of Pisces going over the Moon in the Unit\u00aded States chart, we would expect height\u00adened emo\u00adtion\u00adal sen\u00adsi\u00adtiv\u00adi\u00adties with greater dis\u00adplays of com\u00adpas\u00adsion by the pub\u00adlic. But that could also be accom\u00adpa\u00adnied by maudlin sen\u00adti\u00admen\u00adtal\u00adi\u00adties, vic\u00adtim\u00adiza\u00adtion and dis\u00adplays of (false) mar\u00adtyr\u00addom with\u00adin the mood of the times as well. The chal\u00adlenge for Oba\u00adma with Nep\u00adtune on his South Node was to stay pas\u00adsion\u00adate\u00adly engaged as a leader while draw\u00ading upon his capac\u00adi\u00adty to under\u00adstand the chal\u00adlenge of this moment for Amer\u00adi\u00adca dis\u00adpas\u00adsion\u00adate\u00adly. But with Nep\u00adtune on his Karmic past, the ques\u00adtion of whether he would fall back and with\u00addraw into a detached state, or rise to the occa\u00adsion and draw upon that past to inspire and lead, well that was Oba\u00adma\u2019s karmic test in 2010.<\/p>\n

Cer\u00adtain\u00adly a sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant force that was dri\u00adving the sto\u00adry to pro\u00advide uni\u00adver\u00adsal health care was this man\u00adi\u00adfes\u00adta\u00adtion of com\u00adpas\u00adsion indi\u00adcat\u00aded with Nep\u00adtune align\u00ading with the US<\/span> the Moon. But equal\u00adly to be expect\u00aded were the dra\u00admat\u00adic dis\u00adplays of feel\u00adings of vic\u00adtim\u00adiza\u00adtion and cries denounc\u00ading this very same effort as social\u00adism or com\u00admu\u00adnism. With Nep\u00adtune cross\u00ading Oba\u00adma\u2019s South Node at the very same time, he was influ\u00adenced to tap into the karmic ener\u00adgies of his past and either retreat into detach\u00adment (he was cer\u00adtain\u00adly accused of that) or dis\u00adplay inspired lead\u00ader\u00adship (that seemed to be lacking).<\/p>\n

Again with Nep\u00adtune rul\u00ading the Oceans and Oil, the Deep\u00adwa\u00adter Hori\u00adzon oil rig blowout also occurred dur\u00ading the first pas\u00adsage of Nep\u00adtune to the Moon and Oba\u00adma\u2019s node. The response to this tragedy also seemed to lack the required depth of under\u00adstand\u00ading and inspiration. <\/p>\n

Yet the final pass\u00ading of Nep\u00adtune over the Moon and Oba\u00adma\u2019s node brought the coun\u00adtry togeth\u00ader and ele\u00advat\u00aded Oba\u00adma into a lead\u00ader\u00adship moment as he attempt\u00aded to bind and heal a peo\u00adple hor\u00adri\u00adfied by the tragedy of vio\u00adlence in Tuc\u00adson. Here we found the Amer\u00adi\u00adcan peo\u00adple reel\u00ading from a sense\u00adless act that required a leader to pro\u00advide con\u00adtext and meaning.<\/p>\n

Sat\u00adurn Square Oba\u00adma\u2019s Venus (Nov.16, 2009, Mar. 15, 2010, Aug. 10)
<\/strong>Again we find a con\u00adnec\u00adtion between Oba\u00adma\u2019s chart and that of Unit\u00aded States. Oba\u00adma has his Venus at just under 2\u00b0 of Can\u00adcer, while the Unit\u00aded States has its Venus at just over 3\u00b0 of Can\u00adcer. That means when one is expe\u00adri\u00adenc\u00ading a tran\u00adsit over Venus, the oth\u00ader will too. I men\u00adtioned this tran\u00adsit in an ear\u00adli\u00ader post\u00ading on the Tran\u00adsits to the USA<\/span> chart<\/a>. With Venus rul\u00ading val\u00adues and the appre\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtion of self-worth, the tran\u00adsit of Sat\u00adurn to Oba\u00adma\u2019s Venus was much the same as to the Unit\u00aded States; they both were going through a peri\u00adod of not feel\u00ading wor\u00adthy, valu\u00adable or appre\u00adci\u00adat\u00aded. In short they were not \u201cfeel\u00ading the love\u201d dur\u00ading this peri\u00adod. Per\u00adhaps this, in com\u00adbi\u00adna\u00adtion with the Nep\u00adtune tran\u00adsit to his Node, account\u00aded for the seem\u00ading deficit of lead\u00ader\u00adship skills in the ear\u00adli\u00ader part of the year.<\/p>\n

Next we will turn to an exam\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtion of the major align\u00adments in Oba\u00adma\u2019s chart as regards the impli\u00adca\u00adtions they have for the Unit\u00aded States in 2011.<\/p>\n

The chal\u00adlenges are for\u00admi\u00adda\u00adble, but the oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties are real.<\/p>\n

And this at a time when the USA<\/span> is under\u00adgo\u00ading the Plu\u00adto oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion to Jupiter could pro\u00advide one of the means by which the US<\/span> is able to make the most of that opposition.<\/p>\n

Plu\u00adto rules the willpow\u00ader, which is the true source of our abil\u00adi\u00adty to bring about self-change inter\u00adnal\u00adly, and which also cre\u00adates our abil\u00adi\u00adty to help bring about changes exter\u00adnal\u00adly. While the US<\/span> grap\u00adples with Plu\u00adto oppos\u00ading its Jupiter<\/a>, Oba\u00adma will be able to har\u00adness his own will pow\u00ader, and by exten\u00adsion, the will pow\u00ader of the posi\u00adtion his wields, the Pres\u00adi\u00adden\u00adcy, to help bring about, what could be sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtions in the socio-eco\u00adnom\u00adic-polit\u00adi\u00adcal order with\u00adin our nation, and exter\u00adnal\u00adly with oth\u00ader nations. This is espe\u00adcial\u00adly indi\u00adcat\u00aded by the fact that Oba\u00adma\u2019s Plu\u00adto is in his 7th House of rela\u00adtion\u00adships, and the tran\u00adsit\u00ading Plu\u00adto is mov\u00ading through his 11th House of social ideals.<\/p>\n

What this might indi\u00adcate is that Oba\u00adma\u2019s abil\u00adi\u00adty to be a re-builder, re-new\u00ader, re-gen\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtor of our forms of rela\u00adtion\u00adship (Plu\u00adto in the 7th house), will play out and be seen in 11th house mat\u00adters, which in a mun\u00addane analy\u00adsis would be the nation\u2019s ideals and dreams about the future as well as the Leg\u00adisla\u00adtive branch of government.<\/p>\n

With a \u201cdivid\u00aded\u201d gov\u00adern\u00adment, Oba\u00adma as chief exec\u00adu\u00adtive should be able to help bring about some con\u00adcrete actions to address some of the prob\u00adlems the US<\/span> is faced with now. With his Plu\u00adto in Vir\u00adgo, and the tran\u00adsit\u00ading Plu\u00adto in Capri\u00adcorn, we are talk\u00ading about real, prac\u00adti\u00adcal work\u00adable solu\u00adtions. Each side will have to sac\u00adri\u00adfice part of its \u201cagen\u00adda\u201d and dog\u00adma to get things done. Our con\u00adsti\u00adtu\u00adtion, after all, is so arranged that coop\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion and mutu\u00adal agree\u00adment are inte\u00adgral to the polit\u00adi\u00adcal process, per\u00adhaps this year we will see it at work.<\/p>\n

Pluto\/Jupiter for the USA<\/span> \u2014 Pluto\/Pluto for Oba\u00adma
<\/strong>With the USA<\/span> at the same time expe\u00adri\u00adenc\u00ading the Plu\u00adto oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion Jupiter, Oba\u00adma\u2019s tran\u00adsit of Plu\u00adto to Plu\u00adto takes on much greater sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcance. The USA<\/span> is prob\u00ada\u00adbly fac\u00ading a great strug\u00adgle over prin\u00adci\u00adples this year; the strug\u00adgle is over our prin\u00adci\u00adples of rela\u00adtion\u00adship to one anoth\u00ader inter\u00adnal\u00adly and to oth\u00ader nations exter\u00adnal\u00adly; it is those prin\u00adci\u00adples that end up being enshrined in our laws and our treaties. Oba\u00adma\u2019s tran\u00adsit can pro\u00advide a coun\u00adter\u00adpoint to the dichoto\u00admy and strug\u00adgle in the USA<\/span> chart by the prac\u00adti\u00adcal and respon\u00adsi\u00adble exer\u00adcise of his lead\u00ader\u00adship role. He can be a bridge between oppos\u00ading fac\u00adtions and steer them toward some com\u00adpro\u00admise over our rules of con\u00adduct with one anoth\u00ader, as he also helps to bring about new poli\u00adcies in our inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal relationships.<\/p>\n

Will he be able to keep the oppos\u00ading sides work\u00ading towards con\u00adsen\u00adsus and con\u00adcrete action? Plu\u00adto would say yes. <\/strong>Why are we see\u00ading two tran\u00adsits list\u00aded togeth\u00ader above? Because the plan\u00adets that Uranus is tran\u00adsit\u00ading are in a rela\u00adtion\u00adship with one anoth\u00ader in Oba\u00adma\u2019s chart. When\u00adev\u00ader one is being \u201clit up\u201d, so is the oth\u00ader. The rela\u00adtion\u00adship of Oba\u00adma\u2019s Mer\u00adcury to his Jupiter is an Oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion. An oppo\u00adsi\u00adtion is an aspect of aware\u00adness, a jux\u00adta\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adtion of two aspects of real\u00adi\u00adty; the chal\u00adlenge is to find a way of inte\u00adgrat\u00ading the two through syn\u00adthe\u00adsis. The fail\u00adure would either to swing from one to the oth\u00ader, or to live out one and sup\u00adpress and there\u00adby project the oth\u00ader onto others.<\/p>\n

Oba\u00adma\u2019s Mer\u00adcury
<\/strong>Oba\u00adma\u2019s Mer\u00adcury is in Leo in his 6th House; his Jupiter is in Aquar\u00adius in the 12th house. With his Mer\u00adcury in Leo Oba\u00adma seeks to express him\u00adself in such a man\u00adner so that he earns respect, appre\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtion and approval. But if tak\u00aden too far, it would mean that he would speak for an audi\u00adence, say\u00ading what they wish to hear so that they will approve him, and so in the end he would not be so true to him\u00adself. When he gets it right, Oba\u00adma is cer\u00adtain\u00adly a potent ora\u00adtor; and, when he com\u00adbines that Mer\u00adcury with his Gem\u00adi\u00adni Moon, his mes\u00adsage can be con\u00adveyed in such a man\u00adner that ideas and feel\u00adings blend togeth\u00ader so that the lis\u00adten\u00aders are tru\u00adly touched.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Oba\u00adma\u2019s Jupiter
<\/strong>Jupiter in Aquar\u00adius leads him to seek to relate to the world less per\u00adson\u00adal\u00adly, more in terms of group ideals and social con\u00adscious\u00adness, more deal\u00ading with broad social issues and con\u00adcerns, than the indi\u00advid\u00adual sto\u00adry. The prin\u00adci\u00adples he seeks to relate through are human\u00adi\u00adtar\u00adi\u00adan and uni\u00adver\u00adsal, with an under\u00adstand\u00ading that the bedrock of our democ\u00adra\u00adcy is found\u00aded upon tol\u00ader\u00adance and social jus\u00adtice. But if tak\u00aden too far, it could cre\u00adate a feel\u00ading of aloof\u00adness and detach\u00adment from the pub\u00adlic; it would make him seem that he is not as able to con\u00adnect to oth\u00aders in a more per\u00adson\u00adal way.<\/p>\n

In a way, Oba\u00adma may fear that if he tru\u00adly speaks \u201chis mind\u201d that he might lose some of his rela\u00adtion\u00adships to the Amer\u00adi\u00adcan peo\u00adple or to oth\u00ader nations; yet, if he tries to just pre\u00adserve the rela\u00adtion\u00adships, he will end up not being able to say much at all, (he will not be able to lead), or he will end up say\u00ading what he knows to be untrue.<\/p>\n

Oba\u00adma\u2019s Oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty
<\/strong>The gift of this dou\u00adble tran\u00adsit, of Uranus to his Jupiter and Uranus to his Mer\u00adcury, is that it poten\u00adtial\u00adly bridges this dilem\u00adma and pro\u00advides a path of syn\u00adthe\u00adsis. He should be able to main\u00adtain his com\u00admit\u00adment to prin\u00adci\u00adples from which he derives his pur\u00adpose to rep\u00adre\u00adsent Amer\u00adi\u00adcan Ideals, while artic\u00adu\u00adlat\u00ading the mes\u00adsage about them in such a way that pro\u00advides a bridge of under\u00adstand\u00ading and con\u00adsen\u00adsus for a broad spec\u00adtrum of the Amer\u00adi\u00adcan peo\u00adple and oth\u00ader nations. Uranus is the plan\u00adet of inven\u00adtion, of think\u00ading out\u00adside of the box, (or not even see\u00ading the uni\u00adverse as being \u201cboxed up\u201d!), and its align\u00adment with Mer\u00adcury and Jupiter can help Oba\u00adma to demon\u00adstrate that the solu\u00adtion to our \u201cprob\u00adlems\u201d requires that we give up some of our old assump\u00adtions (Jupiter\/beliefs) and so cre\u00adate new ideas and solu\u00adtions (Mercury\/intelligence).<\/p>\n

It would appear that Oba\u00adma has an oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty to begin to trans\u00adform what is at the root of our polit\u00adi\u00adcal sta\u00adsis; that we just don\u2019t lis\u00adten, under\u00adstand or coop\u00ader\u00adate with one anoth\u00ader. It would seem that Oba\u00adma might be able to make things work out, right? Well, of course, there are oth\u00ader fac\u00adtors at play; and one of the big ones is the \u201cwild card\u201d in this very align\u00adment we have just been examining.<\/p>\n

Here again, as with last year, the align\u00adment of Uranus to Venus in the US<\/span> chart is also occur\u00adring in Oba\u00adma\u2019s chart. The very plan\u00adet that could be a bridge between Prin\u00adci\u00adples and Solu\u00adtions, (Uranus to Mer\u00adcury and Jupiter) is also form\u00ading a square to his Venus. So, what does this indi\u00adcate on its own mer\u00adits? And how will this affect his abil\u00adi\u00adty to wield his will (Plu\u00adto), hon\u00ador our prin\u00adci\u00adples (Jupiter) and artic\u00adu\u00adlate intel\u00adli\u00adgent solu\u00adtions (Mer\u00adcury)?<\/p>\n

Uranus Square Venus (Apr. 12, Oct. 16, Jan. 31, 2012)
<\/strong>Oba\u00adma has his Venus in Can\u00adcer at just under 2\u00b0 of Can\u00adcer; the Unit\u00aded States has its Venus at just over 3\u00b0 of Can\u00adcer. Just as in 2010, when Sat\u00adurn passed over Venus for both, so too this year Uranus will tran\u00adsit their Venus\u2019 togeth\u00ader. The Sat\u00adurn tran\u00adsit was dif\u00adfi\u00adcult since it cre\u00adat\u00aded a feel\u00ading of a lack of self-worth, a lack of val\u00adue which results in all sorts of prob\u00adlems for rela\u00adtion\u00adships. But in the end it serves to clar\u00adi\u00adfy what is more valu\u00adable with\u00adin and around us. Uranus is a very dif\u00adfer\u00adent ener\u00adgy, cre\u00adat\u00ading a dif\u00adfer\u00adent kind of chal\u00adlenge and oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty for the US<\/span> and Obama.<\/p>\n

Just as the Uranus tran\u00adsit to the US<\/span> Venus<\/a> calls for a new under\u00adstand\u00ading and expres\u00adsion of Amer\u00adi\u00adcan val\u00adues, so too does this mean that this tran\u00adsit to Oba\u00adma\u2019s Venus calls upon him to ful\u00adfill his role as a leader whose pur\u00adpose is to artic\u00adu\u00adlate those chal\u00adlenges and oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adties we face now.<\/p>\n

Uranus Shocks
<\/strong>Uranus is not gen\u00adtle, espe\u00adcial\u00adly when it is form\u00ading, as it is here, a \u201chard\u201d aspect; it opens up new path\u00adways and pos\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adties through shocks, sur\u00adpris\u00ades and upsets. Often\u00adtimes its ini\u00adtial effect can appear as a loss, it requires a sac\u00adri\u00adfice, but its true pur\u00adpose is to break up the old forms of val\u00adue, (to release the spir\u00adit of val\u00adue from a more lim\u00adit\u00aded form of being), so that spirit\/life may cre\u00adate new forms of val\u00adue which are to be expe\u00adri\u00adenced, (in this case, most impor\u00adtant\u00adly, in our rela\u00adtion\u00adships to one anoth\u00ader and to oth\u00ader nations, the 7th House).<\/p>\n

The chal\u00adlenge of Uranus is met by being open and wel\u00adcom\u00ading of change; Uranus serves to break up old pat\u00adterns that have sti\u00adfled the flow of spir\u00adit and there\u00adby cre\u00adate con\u00addi\u00adtions for a new order. The dan\u00adger is that the upset or chal\u00adlenge will be expe\u00adri\u00adenced as some\u00adthing to fear; reac\u00adtion sets in that actu\u00adal\u00adly brings about more painful shocks and adjust\u00adments that could have been more man\u00adage\u00adable had the ener\u00adgy been allowed to do its work. The oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty of work\u00ading with Uranus is that by being open to new forms and expres\u00adsions of val\u00adue, the per\u00adson or enti\u00adty can keep unfold\u00ading their spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal potential.<\/p>\n

Spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal Law
<\/strong>Spir\u00adit must take on form; it must lim\u00adit itself and become some \u201cthing\u201d in order to be any\u00adthing on the earth plane. But that form is lim\u00adit\u00aded and will even\u00adtu\u00adal\u00adly lose its mean\u00ading, its relevance.\u2026its beau\u00adty. So, the form must be tran\u00adscend\u00aded so that Spir\u00adit can rein\u00adcar\u00adnate into a new form of expres\u00adsion. This process is one of the most fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal laws that gov\u00adern our universe.<\/p>\n

We do and must try to pro\u00adtect, pre\u00adserve and pass down these forms of val\u00adue as long as we can. How\u00adev\u00ader, whether in great forms of art, or beau\u00adti\u00adful forms of human inter\u00adre\u00adla\u00adtion\u00adship, even in our per\u00adson\u00adal val\u00adues, prin\u00adci\u00adples and laws, at some point the par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar form must be tran\u00adscend\u00aded; spir\u00adit must be free to form anew. One of the prin\u00adci\u00adple agents of such release and ref\u00ador\u00adma\u00adtion is Uranus.<\/p>\n

Uranus and our Chal\u00adlenge
<\/strong>The chal\u00adlenge of Uranus in Aries to Venus in Can\u00adcer is to re-define how we find or cre\u00adate secu\u00adri\u00adty in our lives, all the while our world is in the midst of great changes, (Even greater than we might at first imag\u00adine. I will come back again to this theme of the epic changes ahead, but just know that we have not faced changes as great as this for over 200 years).<\/p>\n

If we stay attached to the exist\u00ading forms because we are afraid, we will suf\u00adfer. If we re-affirm the spir\u00adit that cre\u00adat\u00aded those forms, we can find a way to renew our sense val\u00adue at the cen\u00adter of our lives, and so forge a new base of secu\u00adri\u00adty to stand upon. When the form is break\u00ading apart, we must get back to the spir\u00adit behind the form; we need to go back to root ener\u00adgies and so restore and re-affirm our spir\u00adi\u00adtu\u00adal truth in renewed forms.  <\/strong><\/p>\n

Venus<\/strong>
Uranus is chal\u00adleng\u00ading and break\u00ading up the old forms of Venus in Can\u00adcer. Venus is the plan\u00adet that binds us to one anoth\u00ader through our shared val\u00adues, whose purest and truest expres\u00adsion is found in our love for one anoth\u00ader. In any soci\u00adety and cul\u00adture, what binds us to one anoth\u00ader as a peo\u00adple is what we cre\u00adate with one anoth\u00ader and share with one anoth\u00ader. In any sys\u00adtem, there are ener\u00adgies hold\u00ading it togeth\u00ader and forces pulling it apart. What holds us togeth\u00ader is our love for what we share in as a people.<\/p>\n

Venus and Amer\u00adi\u00adca
<\/strong>With Venus in Can\u00adcer, Amer\u00adi\u00adcans come togeth\u00ader in our love of the indi\u00advid\u00adual, and the sacred\u00adness and dig\u00adni\u00adty that forms our dri\u00adving spir\u00adit of self-deter\u00admi\u00adna\u00adtion. Our myth is the sto\u00adry of the jour\u00adney of the indi\u00advid\u00adual to dis\u00adcov\u00ader and con\u00adnect to their root ener\u00adgies, to be cen\u00adtered upon one\u2019s true self, and so be empow\u00adered to go forth and ful\u00adfill his or her des\u00adtiny. The spir\u00adit of rugged indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adal\u00adism has been giv\u00aden form in our idyl\u00adlic imagery of \u201cthe pio\u00adneer\u201d, of \u201cthe inven\u00adtor\u201d, of the \u201cper\u00adson of con\u00adscience\u201d, which is ground\u00aded in our fun\u00adda\u00admen\u00adtal belief that one per\u00adson can (and does) make a dif\u00adfer\u00adence. These and many oth\u00ader images are at the core of every Amer\u00adi\u00adcan\u2019s belief in the essen\u00adtial worth of the individual.<\/p>\n

Yet, at the same time, with our Moon in Aquar\u00adius (and so the ruler of our Venus), we have had to acknowl\u00adedge that an indi\u00advid\u00adual can\u00adnot find them\u00adselves, they can\u00adnot be ful\u00adfilled, they can\u00adnot be \u201cfree\u201d to do what\u00adev\u00ader they wish, because an indi\u00advid\u00adual can\u00adnot have a life of mean\u00ading and pur\u00adpose with\u00adout sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant asso\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtions with oth\u00ader indi\u00advid\u00adu\u00adals. Here, in Amer\u00adi\u00adca, we came togeth\u00ader, as our founders stat\u00aded in the Dec\u00adla\u00adra\u00adtion of Inde\u00adpen\u00addence, and freely chose to cre\u00adate a new soci\u00adety and in order to do so \u201c\u2026 we mutu\u00adal\u00adly pledge to each oth\u00ader our lives, our for\u00adtunes and our sacred honor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Venus, Rela\u00adtion\u00adship and Our Sac\u00adri\u00adfice
<\/strong>We are formed in and find our mean\u00adings through what we share with one anoth\u00ader. We are not so dif\u00adfer\u00adent from one anoth\u00ader, real\u00adly. Our needs and wants find expres\u00adsion in cer\u00adtain forms because of the cul\u00adture and sub-cul\u00adtures we find our\u00adselves in. The devel\u00adop\u00adment of our \u201cunique\u201d self is only pos\u00adsi\u00adble because of our well-matched capac\u00adi\u00adty to sac\u00adri\u00adfice for one anoth\u00ader. This is the core of the Amer\u00adi\u00adcan expe\u00adri\u00adence of val\u00adue: that to be one\u00adself and be free is found\u00aded upon a love of one anoth\u00ader, that we pledge our alle\u00adgiance to one anoth\u00ader, and so we are will\u00ading to sac\u00adri\u00adfice for one another.<\/p>\n

The word sac\u00adri\u00adfice means lit\u00ader\u00adal\u00adly \u201cto make sacred\u201d. Sac\u00adri\u00adfice is the key to love and self-ful\u00adfill\u00adment. We make an offer\u00ading; we give up some\u00adthing in order to achieve some\u00adthing. We seek to become bet\u00adter than we were before. To sup\u00adport one anoth\u00ader in our own indi\u00advid\u00adual strug\u00adgle to become what we wish to become, we must come togeth\u00ader and sac\u00adri\u00adfice to one anoth\u00ader. We affirm our indi\u00advid\u00adual worth in our union which is based upon our shared val\u00adues. We affirm, strength\u00aden and expand these core val\u00adues as we give up our attach\u00adment to less\u00ader things.<\/p>\n

Uranus and Our Sac\u00adri\u00adfice Now
<\/strong>This has always been the chal\u00adlenge of a cre\u00adat\u00ading a \u201cfree\u201d soci\u00adety. To ful\u00adfill our\u00adselves we must sac\u00adri\u00adfice for one anoth\u00ader. Uranus Squar\u00ading our Venus (and Oba\u00adma\u2019s) is remind\u00ading us that we must face our chal\u00adlenges now in a spir\u00adit of mutu\u00adal under\u00adstand\u00ading; and that requires the sac\u00adri\u00adfice of our less\u00ader alle\u00adgiances and our less\u00ader val\u00adues. We need to be remind\u00aded, reaf\u00adfirm and make a real sac\u00adri\u00adfice for our core val\u00adues that have bound us, formed us and guid\u00aded us. We need to restate our under\u00adstand\u00ading of these core val\u00adues so that we are clear as to what it is that we stand upon with one another.<\/p>\n

We need lead\u00aders who artic\u00adu\u00adlate the truth that every one of us must sac\u00adri\u00adfice if we are to meet the chal\u00adlenges that lie ahead. For Oba\u00adma, for the lead\u00aders in Con\u00adgress, for the lead\u00aders in the many agen\u00adcies and insti\u00adtu\u00adtions of our gov\u00adern\u00adment, for busi\u00adness and com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty lead\u00aders, and for each and every one of us who seek to under\u00adstand, inspire and guide us through this time, we all must free our\u00adselves from our old reac\u00adtive val\u00adu\u00ada\u00adtions and refresh our expe\u00adri\u00adence of what is of most val\u00adue between us.<\/p>\n

Oba\u00adma\u2019s Sac\u00adri\u00adfice<\/strong>
Oba\u00adma\u2019s chal\u00adlenge and oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty is to be the leader who sets the exam\u00adple of what we need to become now. He will have to show his will\u00ading\u00adness to sac\u00adri\u00adfice some of his val\u00adues in order to dis\u00adplay courage and lead\u00ader\u00adship. He must call each of us to those sac\u00adri\u00adfices that will lead to a \u201cnew world\u201d.<\/p>\n

As it has been said before, \u201cBeat\u00aden paths are for beat\u00aden men\u201d. We need pathfind\u00aders now, we need lead\u00aders who have courage and chal\u00adlenge us to rise above our dif\u00adfer\u00adences and sac\u00adri\u00adfice for one anoth\u00ader\u2026 because we are one anoth\u00ader. Uranus to Venus says renew your love for one anoth\u00ader, because you will need one anoth\u00ader if you are to meet the chal\u00adlenge of your destiny.<\/p>\n

The forces that are lin\u00ading up in the next sev\u00ader\u00adal years rival those at our found\u00ading over 200 years ago. We are at the end of age (which also means we are at the dawn of a new age). We must allow our\u00adselves to be filled with the spir\u00adit of under\u00adstand\u00ading, to be inspired now to choose to turn to one anoth\u00ader, again, and pledge \u201cour lives, our for\u00adtunes and our sacred honor\u201d.<\/p>\n
